Route 1 is a frequent urban route between Kalihi Transit Center and Kahala Mall, or Hawaii Kai when Route 1L is not operating. It's short wait between buses, route through popular parts of Honolulu, as well as frequent transfer point stops makes Route 1 one of the most popular routes in the transit system. It's limited-stop counterpart, Route 1L, also serves Hawaii Kai and Kalihi TC, but also travels further west to Halawa Aloha Stadium Skyline Station.
