Y'know This is probably a real good theme for Apollo especially in Turnabout Succession. He just found out his own mentor and boss was the mastermind behind all the suffering of Phoenix, The Gramayre's, Trucy, and even him indirectly. He didn't want to believe it....but deep down it was the truth.... *It Was The Bitter Taste Of Truth*
Yeah,and he will never believe in others easily after that, including Phoenix(Because of that forged evidence). But in Dual destinies,he still want to believe Athena,even if the evidence is conclusive. It really touches me…😭
To be fair, Kristoph brought it all on himself because of his pride. Had he taken his rejection with humility and moved on, he wouldn't have gone down this dark path, but with all he did over one client, he sent himself down his own dark path. Apollo was just along for the ride and didn't even realize until later on.

The closest we have is a distant ancestor in Ryonosuke Naruhodo, but if I'm not mistaken, we never hear a word about Phoenix's family. No mention of parents or siblings or any form of guardian at any point. Again, considering how much family impacts the plot in Ace Attorney, I find it funny how we know absolutely nothing about Phoenix's

Honestly Apollo is one of the most tragic yet underutilized characters. I understand he wasn’t well received at first, but the shit this boy has been through… at least Phoenix got to resolve his issues with Iris and finally finish off Dahlia. Apollo had almost no closure to most of the deaths of his closest friend and fathers. Yet still. He stands and fights for Justice, ready with another vocal exercise, or rousing speech. He is not broken. He has been abandoned and betrayed, shown the worst parts of humanity, yet he still fights for the Justice he believes in the world. Apollo is truly one of the best characters to come out of ace attorney, they just need to fully utilize him.
You're right.If someone refer Phoenix to Sonic,then Apollo is just like Shadow.Both have sad and dark backstory,both are lived in betraying and hating,both are lost its best friend(Clay and Maria),and now they have few friend(unlike Phoenix and Sonic),but they still fighting for own beliefs.
I like Apollo a lot but I'm sorry but, the guy has already been utilized too much. My man has like 3 backstories, one for each of the three last games (Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice), I think he's had enough already 💀
Apollo is my favorite character in the AA series - he's sarcastic, earnest, and absolutely dedicated to finding the truth. Also the people surrounding him are great (Trucy, Klavier, Emma, etc.) I really, REALLY wish they would release a 2nd Apollo Justice Game, especially considering the end of AA6. But alas, who knows. I just REALLY want him to know the truth about Trucy and Lamiroir.
