I appreciate you not spoiling the ending if you are going to watch the show. But you gotta comeback with your thoughts afterwards
Honestly, it was a good choice, but i hope he talks about his thoughts on it at some point. It's such a great show
Funny thing on Naomi’s death, the author outright said he wrote himself into a corner because of how quickly she figured out everything
figured
He did her justice in the BB murder case novel, girl knew capoeira and stuff
Kira basically means "Killer." At least that's from what I remember. Also I'm pretty sure the internet or whoever was talking about it just gave Light that label.
Edit: Okay y'all, I get it. My Japanese knowledge is non-existent.
It’s how the japanese pronounce killer.
Yea it's killer in Japanese
Kira means sparkle which is light. But it is how Japanese pronounce killer.
@@thalegendarydrussraito is light in Japanese, kira is killer
@@thalegendarydrussand kagayaki means sparkle
33:35 that was Light's intention. He's vain, and he always wanted the world to KNOW that it was him, or "Kira", so he decided that Kira would always kill via heartattack
19:36 since it was the FBI agent writing their names down and he knew them, he could imagine their faces while unknowingly writing in the Death Note. Thats why Light asked him to write them down
That's not exactly what happens. Light got his hands on the names and IDs of the 12 FBI and gave it Raye, which is what he used to kill them
@@joshuaanoruo973 raye was the FBI agent...what??
@@joshuaanoruo973 Light didn't get their names and faces. Someone sent Ray the names and faces and thats how Ray got that information. Before retrieving the Death Note pages after Ray died, Light did not know the names and faces of the other agents.
Light “set a bunch of dominoes” and then had the FBI guy “push the first domino over”.
Pretty much, all of you guys are right. How it exactly happened: Light tracked Raye Penber (one of the 12 FBI Agents that were sent by L to Japan to investigate members of the Japanese Police Force, Raye was sent to watch the Yagami Family) in a subway and revealed that he was Kira, even proving it by killing a pervert that worked in a coffee shop across the way. Raye had no clue it was Light since he deduced that there was no reason to suspect Light was Kira. Light gave Raye an envelope that had some papers and a small transceiver with an earpiece and mic, told him to board a train and await instructions. Once Raye was on the train, Light told him to open his laptop and go into his email. His boss, the Directer of the FBI, was about to send him an email with the names and pictures of the 12 agents in Japan along with his own picture and name, Raye was stunned as he followed the instructions and found the email in his inbox. Raye was then told to take out the papers from the envelope and write down the names in the order from the email, focusing on the person's face while writing their name. Once Raye was done, Light told him to put everything back in the envelope and place it on the rack over his head, continue to ride the train until he would be sure no one would notice him leaving the envelope behind and he could exit the train. Once Raye left the train, he had a heart attack, and the last thing he saw before he died was Light standing inside by the train door he had just left holding the envelope Kira had given him. The train doors closing with Light's final words - "Farewell... Raye Penber." And the realization that Kira was Light striking Raye as he took his last breath.
Scru, I agree 100% with you. If I lived anywhere near that region of Japan, nobody's getting my name, ain't no way!
49:10 we respect it scru lmfao go watch the show
Real
and all this happened because Ryuk got bored😭😭
light was bored too
@@demonkingtengoku9034 Crazy how many people died just because a whole Shinigami and some random teenaged was bored 😂
@Token04 light really had the game on lock . If he hadn't killed Rey penburgh, he would've been fine bro played the kira Task Force for 5 years ,all he had to do was pass the book around . and if he still lost to L, he could have misa erased her memories again and, for good, have a baby with her and death note could've been a family heirloom.
@@demonkingtengoku9034 true but Ryuk kinda kicked it off dropping his Death Note because he was bored😭
14:01 I’m sure they wouldn’t think that Kira would kill an FBI agent because at this point Kira only targeted criminals or “evil” to take out, not law enforcement or “good”. They believe they would be safe in that regard due to Kira’s moral standpoint that he’s shown to the public so far.
No Kira tricked him into giving him the id by saying I won’t believe your an fbi agent unless you show it.
You also have to remember the FBI came in after L had already confirmed that Kira was in the Kanto region. Meaning that this happened after Light killed Lind L. Tailor on live TV. It would be assumed that those same agents would’ve been briefed on the situation, so they would know that Kira is willing to kill those that actively stand in his way, or protest his methods. That action essentially sullied Kira’s image in a way that would allow for the cops to be fully willing to bring him in because now they know that his morality is in question due to his god complex. Especially since they essentially had no way of knowing if Kira knew that Lind was a criminal or not, but they know that the response had to have been defensive and out of spite. Lind’s murder at Kira’s hands had to have been emotionally motivated, and was clearly meant to act as a message to not stand in Kira’s way. Otherwise, had Light stuck to the strict rule of “only kill criminals”, then he would’ve likely killed Lind L. Tailor at a later date after cross checking his identity, if he even had the idea to do so.
Since Ray wrote down the names instead of L, the face thing wasn’t an issue. Ray writing down the people’s names caused him to have their faces in his mind as he was writing them (since he knows them all), therefore it fulfilled the name and face requirement.
Power doesnt corrupt, it simply reveals the corruption that has always been there.
There are a lot of details about what the Death Note is and isn't able to do that are left our of CJ's video. You can dictate a persons actions but you can't make them do impossible things. He's also making some of these deaths sound more simplistic than they actually were, you're going to have to watch to see how Light plays 4D chess with some of his victims.
After YEARS of ducking he finally reacted to the video
Finally
Theres 2 hawk tuah jokes, what are you talking about years?
the video hasnt even been out that long wym😂
Just came out, like, within the past month…
it hasn't even been out 25 days, friend 😅
The first half of this show is mental WARFARE. I was glued
16:20 If I remember correctly, it explains that the Death Note won’t kill anyone with collateral damage. The only people who will die are the ones whose names are written in it. So for instance, writting “Bob will shoot Jane and John” would result in all three dying, but writing “Bob will shoot the other two people hunting me” will just result in Bob dying
Actually, it is possible that people will die as collateral damage, Light found a way in the first Live Action Death Note that came out in the mid-2000's. But for that to happen you would have to create the perfect scenario that would leave no other options
@@kxnggeppetto So since the manga is the original source, it still stands that the death note does not allow death by collateral damage.
And it has to be realistic for someone to do. Nothing that they wouldn't randomly do.
24:50 actually, she didnt believe Light at first, and said she still wanted to check the QG anyways, but she used her emotional weakness to make her reveal her name. It was much more complicated than it looked like in the video, watch the anime!
The face and name thing was very well hidden from the public and they kept that on a need to know basis which was actually a bad idea lol
Mad respect for not wanting to spoil the ending for yourself! Fire reaction! Its a great show, hope you and the Mrs. enjoy it!
Also, the name Kira means "Glittery or Shiny", which is a play on Lights name. But in the show its because Kira is how the Japanese pronounce the English word Killer.
THE VIDEO WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR 🎉
13:55 In the show, Light plays the FBI agent by suggesting he could be an accomplice to the guy robbing the bus. In order to get out of the robbery situation and gain Light's trust (or at least get rid of suspicion), he showed his ID.
Highly suggest reading the manga and watching the show. 5D chess on all sides from start to finish.
It's the person writing the names that needs to know the faces. Having Ray Parker write it meant it would be active.
9:54 This is legit where everyone was on board with this show. It's a damn spectacle and a masterpiece of anime. Definitely try it. 👍
Ahhhh you did this one! 🙌🏽. I'm locked tf in!! ❤
This still in my top 5 anime all time. The level of creativity with the writing and the level of chess being played the whole time was mind blowing. It can get a little silly or over the top at times but overall it is some great writing imo. I think it shows how great the writing is to see Scru get so into this vid and make him invested enough to go watch. And that's with CJ not even really explaining everything lol Scru we gonna need a review of the show from you when you get done watching it
Kira is the English word "Killer" pronounced in a Japanese accent.
6:49 kira means killer in japanese thats how he got the name kira
It doesn't mean killer it just sounds like killer. It's like when Japanese people say words in English, instead of killer, it'd be kira.
@EpiclyEpic808 キラー (kirā) does indeed mean "killer". Just because it's katakana (basically a phonetic script for turning foreign words into Japanese) doesn't mean it's not a real word
Definitely gotta watch the show- SO much of the greatness is in the details and nuances of Light and L’s dynamic.
~_~
I respect tour decision, just glad to see you pumped up this much about an anime. Great show, great break down by cj and great reaction by you. Had me laughing and and reacting too!
I have been waited for you to react to this man
Bro I respect that. This is in my top 5 anime of all time because of the story telling and intrigue behind it. It has you on the edge of your seat the entire time and you respect the thought that was put into making this. I love it so much and I hate the butchering that the live action did.
I love that you didn't watch the ending and wanna check out the whole show. The question is: Can we see those reactions?! I'm already subscribed to other reaction channels. I'd watch you do anime reactions. Plus your wife going in completely blind? Hell yeah. It would have everything
Yaaaasss!!!!!
Been waiting for this its been a long time
to explain what happened at 19:29 anybody can use the death note since the guy who wrote the names also know what the other FBI agent looks like their death will be registered 40 seconds later.
The part you were confused by, you're prolly gonna forget it anyway, but no one actually knew who Kira was. L suspected it, no one believed him, but he himself was actually not 100% sure either. Light was working with the police trying to catch Kira, so himself. That's kinda how he kept getting away with it (besides being the biggest manipulator I've seen in fiction) cuz he always knew what they were doing. This show honestly makes you use your brain, cuz both Light and L are insanely smart, and has you on the verge of your seat.
15:50 That’s kinda true, but the death has to be possible. He can’t do something like making a guy in a prison cell in New York die in front of the Eiffel Tower in two minutes.
33:40 Heart attacks are basically the default death for the Death Note. At first Light didn’t specify the deaths probably more out of convenience. Now that he has a god complex, he *wants* people to know that Kira can kill anyone anywhere at anytime. So yeah, he’s an idiot.
“Whats your name? Piccolo” 😂 funniest part of this video💀idk why lmao
I haven't watched Dexter in a while but from what I remember, his motivations weren't ego-driven. There were a few times he got people who weren't on his dad's list killed, but it felt like he was more afraid of being exposed more than someone "getting in the way of a God"
19:35 That's why he has the agent write down the names. When you know someone and you write their name, you automatically think of their face. So light didn't technically kill those people because he didn't know any of them so he couldn't. He tricked the Agent into doing it instead
Yessir resectable, Make sure that ending does not get spoiled.
I respect you not showing the end... but i am upset 🤣🤣 loved the reaction! I've never watched it myself but i might go watch it now that I've seen this!
The best way I can describe Death Note is like an action anime but all the action is mind games.
I had to get the dragon balls to wish for this video 😐
MA GET THE CAM SCRU LOVED THE COMMENT
can't weit to see your reaction on the ending 🔥
Kira has a dual meaning. Kira in one language (I'm not sure which) means killer or death. But in another language it means Light which is his name... essentially a slap in the face to investigators
Scru went through a whole death note journey in this vid
First kill had him like “I ain’t mad at that”
He was like “dawg you twerking on a ninja grave”
the thing with kira is that he is prideful. he wanted for people to know of his existence, to send a message to the world. that he would be executing his "justice" unto all criminals. so sticking to heart attacks was done in purpose.
HELL YEAHHHH!! I much preffer you react to it 🎉🎉🎉
Raye Penber (the first fbi dude who died in the train) knew their faces, that's why the death note worked
A man we respect it big g
Yooo think you so much for not watching the last part and you’re going to thank yourself too for not completely spoiling it 🙌🏾 enjoy the series bro . Are you going to post you and your wife’s reaction to it ?? That would be awesome !
I didn't know this video existed but I'm here for it
I knew I’d enjoy this reaction the most 😂
COmment to support, one of the only anime I truly love and enjoy lmao - excited to see some Scru recaps, maybe some periodic reviews like you did with the Naruto series?
I watched like half of the video of CJ and still watched Death Note afterwards and still wasn't really as spoiled since there is so much more to Death Note that happens behind the scenes that will blow your mind so you can still give it a watch it's an AMAZING anime.
19:38 is because that agent was thinking about them so he technically already seen the other agents faces and since the people that hold even a piece of paper from the death note they can still use the power, maaaan this has a lot of sense it blew my brain
19:35 penber probably had the peoples names when he wrote them down, cuz he wrote the names on death notes sheets unknowingly. n likely light just filled in the rest after he got it back from penber
This video had me on the floor I love cj 😂
scru knows ace attorney? i aint know he was tapped in like that 🔥
I respect not spoiling yourself it just shows that u like the show already
49:00 Big W for stopping there, ggs.
Rae was writing the names of the FBI agents on the death note, meaning that when he wrote their names, they would die, because he knows the agents faces, and he made Ray sit in the train for 40 minutes, because from what I remember (cause it’s been a long time) he wanted them to all die at the same time so there was no suspicion
I think you the first reaction channel I subscribed to literally just because of you not wanting to finish the video so you can finish the anime 😂
been waiting for this
Late here, but respect for not spoiling Scu.
Yes he’s finally did it🎉🎉🎉🎉
takes me BACKKKKKKKKK
10:05 idk if he's gonna spoil the whole series, but you definitely should watch this anyway, bro. You'd enjoy it
Deathnote has a whole episode of him following a girl down the street to a bus stop and it's the most intense episode of almost anything I've ever watched, I don't think I've been on the edge of my seat as much as this show.
took ya 3 weeks to get to the Cj vid after thinking Cj was weird for doing that nagatoro vid nasty work scru
They left a lot of detail out about why Ray Penbar’s wife gave Light her real name. I mean other was stupid but he manipulated her during that conversation using her admiration for L, her being a former fbi agent, and her desire to find her husband’s killer. It wasn’t as straightforward as the video made it seem
great ending dawg im exciteded 4 u
19:36 basically, Light wrote the cause of deaths before the names, so Raye put the name of the FBI chief, and the chief sent the faces and names of every person in the operation to Raye. Raye proceeded to write every name and then die.
Death Note is a high-stakes anime on the model of Columbo. The audience who's whodunit the whole time so the fun is watching the investigator figure it out. This whole show is a cat and mouse battle of wits between Light and L and then how Light reaches beyond his grasp.
15:42 I think there’s a rule where you can’t be made to kill someone else but other than that you can fully control the actions of a person and they’re death
If you're wondering how interesting these characters are, check out "Death Note"-related content from SethTheProgrammer.
I always thought that light keeps to it heart attacks to save space on the death note sense there are only so many pages
BLORG, its another GLORB alter ego bro you gotta get hip. This shit hot off the press.
the simpson one is hard no lie.
I respect that Scru.😊
its a battle of 2 great minds
It's actually a big point in the series that a lot of light's victims are just innocent people
death note is my second fav anime of all time and one of my fav shows of all time its peak and cj didnt show/explain everything so u arent completely spoiled dw. and i respect u not watching the ending cause the ending is iconic
If you saw how light convinced her to give him the id you would say nothing else but “this man is a genius” 😂
he didnt need the fbi faces bc ray had the faces in mind when he wrote the names down on pages from the death note
I think Kira means "Shiny" or "Shining" but dont hold me told it, hold google to it
This man said he can get 16 rounds in 40 seconds😂
Imkevin been dropping some heat fam!
he skipped alot of shit so with just this video, alot of shit wont make sense. you shopuld watch it
Death Note is a show where the devil is in the details. You are gonna love watching it!
Fair enough, hope you enjoy all the twists and turns in full detail. At least the ending will be funny to you.
I actually respect the decision to not see the ending. That's a big move right there, all love fam
How have you not watched this!! Death Note is up there on my all time list
YOU GOTTA WATCH IT, I respect it
21:41 My new name is Zig Bigadarlu😂😂
Scru, glorb may have another alias called blorg. So far they have posted two songs one with South Park and the other with The Simpsons
YESS FINALLY thanks Scru🫡
You should react to The Kevin Bennett's Shy Guy Rap "Who I Am" Ft. Zach B, it's so much more than just another nerdcore track, it's a general song about being an introvert.
19:37 light didn’t write the names, when the agent who knew the ppl wrote the names down on the paper light leave him, they were death note pages so ray knew them and their face and killed them accidentally.
We still need rabsopetty hidden inventory arc
Respect it, come back after!
Kira is the pronunciation of “キラー”, which is the Japanese translation of “Killer”
The specific word “Killer” is a borrowed word from English, and because Japanese language and phonetics are different from English, many Japanese don’t pronounce “L” sounds or enunciate “er”. The word effectively becomes “Killa”, and because of how Katakana (one of the Japanese writing systems) is composed, “ra” (which is effectively “la” in English) is the closest sound to match. Hence, Ki-Ra = Kira = Killa = Killer. And this similarity in pronunciation becomes much clearer when you hear it spoken in Japanese, because they don’t pronounce that “R” sound like we do; it sounds much closer to the sound an L or a D would make in that context.
