So depressing when you have to get your winter preparations underway but like you I've been doing the same thing recently. Overnight temperatures here are in the low single digits at the moment (this morning was 1C), pond temp down to 14C and dropping so I've moved all my koi indoors for the winter and the pond shut down is well underway. The Sculpted Layers sieves work wonders. I have two, one for each Eazy Pod, and the amount of fines they remove is astounding. 👍🏻
Thank you sir, much appreciated. I’m going to put off putting the full winter covers on for as long as possible but I know I’m just postponing the inevitable 🙁
Hi Phil, great video mate. I can't believe we're getting the ponds ready for winter already. Just one thing I noticed mate, you have a bit of what looks like artificial fence in front of your pond heater. I'm sure I've seen that there's supposed to be nothing in front of them for about 2 meters, so they get good air circulation. You might find the heater working harder than it needs to. If I'm wrong mate, sorry. Take care and stay safe, Terry.
Cheers Terry, all observations greatly appreciated 👍. Put it there because Clare didn’t want to see the heater when we sit on the raised decking, it isn’t solid but you’ve got me thinking now so will be down tomorrow….just in case😊👍

Yes, very depressing but nothing we can do to avoid it🙁
Good update Phil, glad all is well , apart for winter creeping towards us
I’m desperately clinging onto the hope that we could still have some 1/2 decent weather before winter fully sets in but I think I’m kidding myself ☹️
It is a shame 😢 when you have to put the covers on, but when you're heated, it has to be done. Fish look well, my friend 👍 Nice job 👏 🐟

Koi keeping in the UK is such a short season, no sooner are you taking the covers off for spring they’re going back on for the Autumn/winter 😢
Yes, far too short😢, we haven’t even had a proper summer this year😡. Think I need to emigrate 😂👍
