that little hole in the center left of the bottom of the laptop ? it has a botton under it, its the power disconnect botton, when pushed it shuts down everything. its the first thing you should do when taking apart a thinkpad. every modern thinkpad has a hole with a botton under it.
@@ItsBinhRepaired after fixing close to 200 x1 c6, I can assure you, I wish that was a cmos reset. When the thunderbolt fails it bails you out, but when it goes full freeze, you have to open it, remove both main and cmos battery to get it working again.
I am planning to buy a t470 but that laptop doesn't have a fingerprint scanner and has a dual storage, it says it has a slot for both ssd and HDD. Is that fake or what?

You look like you have two ram slots on this computer. The one closer to the bottom of the video screen is empty. That is for ram right? Above that you have the 16 GB one. So that is two ram slots right? You are not clear about this. I know that some Lenovo's have a soldered on ram and one slot. So be clear about that other slot please.

@@ItsBinhRepaired The "other slot for RAM" that you point out isn't actually for RAM. I tried to put another stick in there and it didn't fit. The little slot that you match up in the RAM stick didn't match up in that one. I was wondering if you found out what it was for? I was just trying to upgrade one of these laptops and went to throw RAM in that "second slot" and it doesn't fit. Also, the second slot is way too wide to fit a stick of RAM. Edit: I'm an idiot and had the wrong form factor RAM. It has two slots!
One small, stupid thing decided that this business laptop so praised by everyone - in my case the ThinkPad T470 became useless for me and the point is that despite mounting the Realtek Music Card Chipset in them, in the recording options it absolutely does not support the Function " STEREO MIX". To a large extent, I use the laptop as a Digital Tape Recorder for recording and editing various music, for which recording via a microphone is not suitable - and this is the only option this laptop offers. I am forced to use an external Music Card connected to the USB Port, which makes the Laptop lose mobility and also loses in my opinion. This is a very rare condition and that it must have happened to me with this T470. I am quite devastated by this situation. I also do not like that these laptops do not have a normal SATA Interface slot for the HDD and in case of problems with the HDD, you need to look for special adapters. During the installation of the OS - after removing all Disk Partitions, the Installer threw a yellow message that the System cannot be installed on this Disk - and (sneezes)!!! It's good that my desktop PC, apart from the usual SATA sockets, had identical, matching M.2 Disk installed in the T470, and only then could I completely reset the Disk and, after re-transferring it to the T470, install the System normally. However, this (SQUARE CIRCLE). And to make it even funnier, the second M.2 Disk reacted in the same way - a smaller one placed in the second slot intended for small-sized (short) M.2 Disks, because the main one is M.2 but connected with an adapter - an adapter for Mini PCiex - such as for WiFi Card. Confusion with confusion. There are other Lenovo ThinkPads much thinner and then it's justified, but this T470 can easily accommodate a regular 2.5" drive, so I don't know why they messed up this Storage Disk Interface solution. The laptop, however, makes up for it with its solidity, speed and powerful stability.

It's just that in the event of problems with the M.2 Disk, its diagnosis is limited, etc. A regular 2.5 "SATA Disk can be moved to an external pocket with a USB3 cable and connected to the USB port of the Desktop Computer and make the proper diagnosis and possible repair. Because it gets the job done and my nails are used to open the computers as well. Why watch a video on how to open up a computer if you know better? Why not make videos showing people how to do it the "right" way if you're such an expert on the subject? I've been repairing computers for more than 15 years and bring my experience and knowledge from working on thousands and thousands of different devices to my channel. If you think you have a better way, go ahead and try it. Using plastic pry tools you'll need several different sizes and shapes and they break very easily. I have all different sized pry tools built into the tips of my fingers. It's not worth all that extra hassle and brolen tools thrown in the garbage buying and using plastic pry tools. In the case of using the screwdriver, find plastic pry tools that are that shape and size and show me how you store all those tools to make them convenient to bring everywhere.

You can replace the 2.5" sata drive with a 2.5" sata ssd

That's not a power disconnect. That's a bios/cmos reset.

@@1Aevum did you press and hold it for 10-15 seconds? There's no point having a power disconnect when the battery is internal.

No, that won't reset the password. Even removing the cmos battery won't reset that.

If you get the right adapter you can use sata, but m.2 pcie nvme is much faster
