This game is so fun but the online is absolutely shameful. They have been unprofessional and straight up lied about trying to fix things on twitter like the disconnect %. I have absolutely 0 confidence they will do anything about pluggers at any point in this game's lifespan. The whole bit about laws in other countries was just a pre cop-out. Other games don't have this issue. Not only is ranked a mess, player match lobbies are god awful and full of getting booted back to the menu, unable to spectate, etc.
I dont get why people even want higher ranks without getting better. Just because you are a tekken god rank and above doesnt make you play better. Then they go on quickmatch and lose to some red rank LMFAO
Most likely, after they reach the maximum rank, they no longer play ranked games, but sit in various chats/groups/social networks and brag about their rank. There are such petty people. When the truth is revealed to them, they bury themselves with their stupidity. But they don’t worry, the main thing is to please their EGO and it doesn’t matter which way they achieve the desired result.
today, i lost to someone 2 ranks below me. it was their promotion match, so they got promoted off me. I took the rematch, and realised he didnt know how to break a throw. i did the throw 4 times, and on the 5th time they dc'd 💀
I think the problem currently is that the games netcode isnt stable in a way that devs feel confident with. Cause regular players are still getting disconnect from the servers. Most devs are passion about their jobs, trust. So if they know the servers are still unstable, they don't wanna put blame on people when it's the servers fault. The downside is pluggers get to take advantage of this. But bad people are always gonna take advantage of anything they can.
I honestly don't know if Bamco actually wants to do anything about cheaters and pluggers, seeing as we're still dealing with some of the same things that were problems in Tekken 7 for years. Dombili playing another character who has no sense of personal space doesn't surprise me. Also, anybody who thinks Dombili would rage quit must be new around here.

i kinda like adding the pluggers as rivals, i watched a hwoarang who plugged on me at his warrior promo get to shinryu in 1 day, hes been stuck at that rank for like a week now and i've just managed to overtake him on my lee

Thus, this would make life more difficult for the pluggers, since they would have to sweat every month. And those guys who already play well will in any case take their rank within a month. In my opinion this is the ideal solution. And of course, in addition to this, I hope that pluggers will have a minus rating for each network connection break.

Meh, couldn't care less about ranked anymore honestly. Picked up 8 over a week ago, got ruler rank and my average ranked experience is now: Get plugged on, block and report. Win convincingly, i get one and done treatment. Almost win after a download, get one and done treatment after i lose. When i find someone playing with a pocket character who's in blue, i get beat because the player is just better. The least frustrating thing out of all of them, so it's all good. All in all, im not good enough to completely adapt between all of that. Understanding all of that helps me in a way that i can accept whatever happens and not care about rank.
Honestly, the community should embrace ragequitting, especially if the devs are trying to market to a more casual audience. Let players press start and forfeit like you can in Fifa or CoD and make sure they lose the points. That should be standard.
the reason for the pluggers my guess is the demotion rank. rank imo should not be demoted once you aquire it. point deduction yes keeping it borderline. but not remove the rank to the previous. removing this i think... would lessen this pluggers plague hehe.
It's not about cheaters. it's about the main reason of plugging is to avoid the loss. if you can't avoid the loss when plugging, there's no real benefit to plugging anymore.
I disagree and agree to an extent. If anyone is plugging for the points/stats giving them an automatic L would kill their momentum. The only people it wont stop is the folks who are just rage quitting. But who cares about them in the grand scheme of things.
One obvious problem with this, is the ghost system isnt as actually as deep as people thought. At the end of the day its still just a CPU that can be exploited for wins. So all your solitution would do is give pluggers/cheaters more incentive to disconnect, as it would means they could fight CPUs and still rank up. It could even make worse.
Luckily for me this is actually pretty few and far between that I get plugged on but I also have the protection of being a well-known streamer and people are less likely to plug on me and get exposed
i dont know i didn't encounter that many plugs with the PC Version off Tekken 7 since Crossplay is on Tekken 8 those plugs are getting out off hands 90% off the time its a PS5 player... edit: The worst its not about the game itself but the time those losers are wasting me that makes me angry
