personally i do modelling / rendering / photoshop and playing all in 4K .. so defenitely R9 7900x is my choise
How come you choose 7900X over 7800 X3D? When all the benchmark shows that 7800 x3D better
if u r just a gamer 7800X3D is the one .. but if you are like me a 3D modeller / programmer / editor / multitasker / little gaming then doe sure 7900X is the one@@Rezamajedi
@@Rezamajedibecause the biggest differences are at 1080p. At 4K there’s hardly any difference in gaming but the lower clock speeds of the x3d hurt in productivity
@@Rezamajedi more cores higher clock speeds should give a theoretical adv to 7900x for multitasking heavy apps
modelling and sculpting use single core powers, isnt it ? only rendering use multiple, but many people just use gpu for that.
Damn, a straight to business video! Thank you for your content.
in CP2077 no difference in 1440p ... I keep my R9 7900
Lol is that all you play?
It's bad. All other games the 7800x3d performs better
@@renef.8468bro i have rx 6950 and i play fortnite full hd i take ryzen 7 7800x3d or ryzen 9 7900x pls help me
Cyberpunk is just one of those games that loved higher frequency over more cache.
@@renef.8468doesn't mean he should change his r9 7900 which still performed great im assuming he already has a r9 7900
Thx for the comparison. For wide gaming and productivity 7900X is clear, only leaving like 10% max on table for gaming.
Not a lot of difference in 1440p, I keep my 9 7900x, it also has more cores and 100 dollars cheaper nowdays
7900x for 1440 gamming all day with 4070 super. Got better fps by 10%. I tjought the 78003d would have been better
Really needed to see more 1440p test
@1440p and up there isn't going to be a performance difference; in the rare cases there are it's a slight lead for the 7800x3D
@@dakbassett at 1440p there would be albeit nowhere near as much as at 1080p. Basically this video should have had 1080p and 1440p result only. 4k is virtually pointless.
If you play at 4K on every game go for the 7900x if you don’t 7800x3d is the preferable choice.
Why is that? The 7800x3d still out performs it in a good amount of games and it also has higher 1% lows across the board which would be a smoother gaming performance at 4k where you have lower fps to begin with.
@@trsskaterthanks for your comment I wasn't sure which to buy but I think I will go with 7 7800X3D with a 4080 super
@@azazazaza1231 You will love it! It made my games feel so much better. I have a 4090 and a CPU upgrade shouldn't make a big difference for me. But this did. I didn't get more much more performance but some how it increased the image quality with the higher lows. You also want to enable resizable bar. Look up RUclips videos for how to set it up. It's easy to set up. If you have any questions about it let me know because Ryzen 7000 has some quirks that would be nice to know ahead of time so you know how to address them.
Not true
I have had both and the 7900x is far superior in most tasks.
Ryzen 7900x better for 1440p, ultrawide and 4k. 12 cores and good for work
So if i paired a rx 7800xt with a 7900× would there be no performance dip compared to 7800×3d since its a less powerful gpu?
Yes exacly
Im gonna do the 7900xt with 7900x for 1440p. Is it a good build?
This is what I’m going for! That should 100% work!
can someone explain to me why the 7800x better is in game performance than the 7900x? Like all the specs of 7900x is better
i think it's because of all the threads and cores. games can only run a certain amount of cores/threads right now and the 7800 has the perfect amount. the more cores and threads on newer cpu's is for making/rendering games
@@glorb_landeven on games where many threads and cores are supported it's better or equal to the other graphics card. I suppose it's because of the x3d technology
@@Merchb0yy amd CPU’s are weird
@@glorb_land It's because of the large L3 cache. It has 96mbs compared to 64mbs on the 7900x. L3 cache is like RAM but faster. If RAM is like your tool belt and a hard drive is your tool box, then L3 cache would be like your arms. Bigger the cache the more arms you have to hold onto tools you will need. For games the RAM slows down the process and with the x3d large L3 cache it can save instructions on the die for longer instead of having to dump it to RAM to then grab it again when it needs it.
is it possible to reudce my cache@@trsskater
Well i game at 4k so this 9700x would be plenty and it handles other applications at half the power of the 7800x3d. Id definitely choose 9700x.
I just bought my 7900x I'm so excited
My new PC will have it too, it's currently being built I too am excited because my old PC is almost 7 years old now haha.
7900 non x here.. lower power consumption.. game? who cares.. still very good at.
What cooler are you using & any problems with the CPU?
i got mine for gentoo i’m fine
based
id like to see this on a more affordable gpu
The more powerful gpu is used to limit bottle necks to get the most out of the cpu
What he said. Don't take these numbers as the max you can get. Use the numbers to see which gets the better numbers for your use case. Because that will be the one to choose. Ultimately your GPU will dictate how much fps you get.
Wtf broo....if im using these cpus with high end gpus in my built, i will be gaming at 1440p+.... except for cyberpunk no other comparisons
Bro can u please help me with your experience I want to know , 7800x3d or 7900x both same price - my use only for streaming games, gaming and maybe gameplay editing in premiere pro photoshop thats all which one is best plz ? for all youtube gaming channel
7900 is way better for productivity tasks and workloads. Leaps and bounds above. , 7800x3d is amazing for just gaming. 7900 is overall the best in terms of productivity and gaming.
7900
@@abhiss6705 bro my opinion buy r77800x3d most powerful better than 7900x
I got the 7800x3d, after getting it i realised the 7900x is way better value. It’s more future proof.
@@zk4654 bro im just about to buy one other the 2. could you elaborate your experience. i want 2k gaming + heavy multi tasking for next 3 years.
7800x3d is amazing
yea... if you have a $2000 GPU and play it at 1080p 😂 otherwise, it is an overpriced, inferior little 8 core cpu... 7900x is a much better buy
@@deedeemerry12957800x3d will get higher fps in most games. 7900x is better in non gaming tasks.
@@tricarbonate5619 when at 1440p or 4k, the difference for a x3d is coming very small. Not sure who plays at 1080p..........

Msfs flight sim please
I was going to say that
So 7800x3d doesn't make any sense at 4k😮
For the lows, yes it does. This CPU can manage to maintain a very high minimum framerate, even during heavy scenes.
@@FailTeacherno it doesn't matter @4k
for work ryzen 9 7900x
for gaming ryzen 7 7800x3d
which one is better for streaming games to twitch? and having multiple programs open or is there any real differnce. would i be safe going with the 7800x3d or the 7900 for more cores since im streaming?
7900X is better for gaming/streaming overall. 7800x3D is good for gaming but bad for productivity. I prefer 7900X if u want to do more than just only gaming. U can get easily high fps with 7900X so 7800x3D is not needed.
@@Exucorethank you so much. !! I’m on a different account! But I’ve been needed to hear this! Is 12 cores good enough? Or should I go 16? And just get the 7950x
@@jashatcher2167 12 cores is totally fine and best option for gaming/streaming compared to 8 or 16 cores. 16 cores also fine but much more expensive than 12 core cpus and what i looked at tests, 7900x and 7950X has exactly same gaming performance but i still go with cheaper option so what comes to 7k series, 7900X is better gaming/streaming + price/perf overall than any other 3D or X cpus. Like 7700X is good but 8 cores might be bottleneck if going like many years ahead. 12 cores is the sweetspot.
@@jashatcher2167 if you are planning on running a gaming youtube channel where you will stream and play games at the same time and also edit videos then hands down get the 7900x, if you can get the 7950x thats even better, 7800x3d is purely for gaming and the moment you run anything else simultaneously along with a game, it bogs down hard
@@jashatcher216712 cores are more than good. 16 cores also achieves the same performance as 12 cores or about 10% better. Plus 16 cores is like atleast $150 more then the 12 core cpu.
Best bang for buck and overall a gr8 balance for all work, is 7900X, 12c/24t is all you gonna need.
How about Temperatures? 🥵
Most pc users (especially newer pc owners) don't undervolt. Undervolting the 7000 series ryzen cpu will drop temps and in some cases improve performance. Just don't undervolt too much or you will get system crashes.

7900x3d, Peace of shhhhh
These are the times when r7 is better than r9 :)) why they doing this :))
Benchmarks can be precarious. In another video the 7900x beat out Spiderman Remastered. Hardware choice is everything. It can change performnace drastically. Anyway, I play at 4k and do content creation stuff so the 7900x would be a better choice for me if I was to go to AMD.
Spiderman in particular utilizes a lot of cpu cores... way more than 8. That is why the 7800x3d is inferior and will show its age even more in the near future. Buying an 8 core chip for that price is absurd... 7900x is a much better buy.
@@deedeemerry1295 well when you put it like that
@@deedeemerry1295p
@@deedeemerry1295 I don't know about that. It really depends on what is common it is for people to have more cores. Also I wouldn't use 1 game that performans differently from the norm as the example of how the 7800x3d will show its age. Because if this trend continues where 1 new game every year uses more CPU compared to the rest then you still aren't missing out on anything because 5 games over the years get a little less fps. Otherwise you will need to upgrade your graphics card every year to not feel the age of your graphics card rather than every 5 years like the average person does.
@@deedeemerry1295That’s not how it works. You’re not using all cores of the 7900x for gaming. Google for info, can’t explain on a comment. If you do other task, then you can compromise some gaming performance and go for the 7900, but if you only game the 7900 it’s NOT the best option. Just go for the 78003dx, you use 8cores with that vs 6 with the 7900 FOR GAMING. :) Hope this concept help anyone.
lol for 1440p resolution up now big difference, i keep my 13600k 🩵
And if you ever want to play anything else you will regret it
