hello and happy new year!!! i am perplexed i cannot understand why you did not use a cranking handle to start George when you first noticed issue. I have a 1956 split screen moggie, super reliable, but i would never Dream of starting the car from cold without cranking the engine myself why let the battery do all the work, only time i do not use cranking handle is if i am doing my weekly shop or the car was last used 20 minutes ago. A big thanks for all your uploads they have been a great assistance to me.
Hi thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. George always need to be turned over fast to start he will never start with a starting handle even when warmed up. 🤓👍
That would be a good idea but George is run on a tight budget and just don't have the £ they not cheap. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment 🤓👍
Happy new Year! That must be a great battery given the low temperature . I had a problem with a power drain on my car which I have found now. Best thing I ever bought was the jump pack I had to use it a lot when I was trying to find the fault.
Hi everyone. 👋 So last night when I left off work George had a flat battery so today I went to rescue him with my little jump starter. As the battery is good it had recovered and George started up without any help. Thanks for watching 🤓👍
George would not start with a handle he has never started without a good crank over I did make a video long time ago trying to start him. The little jump packs are very handy I've used mine to start the bus before and on couple of friends cars also handy for camping to use the USB to charge phone. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment 🤓👍
@@woowoo883classiccars I have an MGA which is very similar. If the timing is correct the car will start with a quick flick assuming that the carbs are full. But I agree about the new jump packs and I have one too. I'm too old to be swinging a starting handle.
Sound like I good idea and for a lot of cars it probably would work But no way for George he has to crank over for a bit before he will fire up even when he is been running. I did try a wile ago to start him using the handle but just don't want to start. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment 🤓👍
It's easy done, I left my interior light on once, it completely flattened the battery, the ignition lights didn't even come on, somebody told me that once the battery is flattened, it weakens it
Batteries usually have a sticker on which tells you amps per hour (capacitance) the higher the number the better. I’ve had classics from Austin 7 - Rolls Royce and moggy minor is the most reliable - there’s not much to go wrong!
Sounds like you could do with a bigger battery left my main lights on for two hours came back car started no problem. Sounds as if you were lucky you had a car left if you left an external heater on
Battery is fine I can leave the lights on for few hours that little fan heater uses a few more amps than the lights. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment 🤓👍
Well done George, just wanted a night out . Goes to show Morris minor never die

They are a great tool to have I think I've used mine on other people's cars more than on mine.

I see in the front bumper, looks like the hole for a starting handle ? Much cheaper than a jump pack.

how many mpg can you get in George?
Hi to be honest I don't know but it's around 33 mpg I will have to do a test on that. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment 🤓👍
