I needed to hear this. I'm 28 i've lost quite a bit of hair i bought 3 cheap wigs I wore for halloween but i was really just starting my collection. I honestly feel anxious about wearing different wigs everyday and having people know I wear wigs. Like i feel like i live in a small southern town in texas and everyone is so loud and opinionated and i'm so sensitive but you're right it is fun and my happiness is more important
I think you will come to enjoy it once you get your family and friends used to the idea. I see you are a performer, so you must like attention at some level. :) Honestly, anyone who would talk shit about you for wearing a wig isn't someone who's opinion matters. For real.
Go Kaleo Style Yeah attention is okay lol yeah I think my friends could get used to it. Last time my boyfriend saw me in a wig he really liked it. I always want to dye my hair crazy colors and it's so in right now it would be almost cheaper to buy a wig. The trends are hard to keep up with as well as salon care not that I would but girls who's hair looks on point spend 100 each time they do a new color plus upkeep! Wigs are a bargain in that regard ;)
from my long experience .....firstly ..try not 2 buy cheap pieces .....try 100 $ ones at least ...cheap ones r super obvious ....also ...I would not get different shades that much ..would try 2 stick 2 one tone ....there r also things like half wigs and top pieces , good extensions /human hair/ clip ins .... which are even less obvious and worth experimenting with.....i stick 2 one tonne pretty much and high quality pieces and at least men have no clue ....women r always suspicious tho and are often staring at me ...etc ...but I feel more confident when I have 200 $ something ,really well made and slightly messed up..in my original tone ...i have biological hair ..just hate styling it etc
congrats about being open w/wigs ...to anyone...I also live in a small town and ppl r very judgmental /old fashioned and think its ridiculous 2 wear these things ../;..and makes me feel very uncomfortable while doing it..../:
Tiffany I wear wigs for the same reason you do. I have hair that sucks. Always has since my mid 20''s. I got cancer when I was 50. And lost my hair completely which introduced me to wigs as an alternative to hair that sucks. So I just kept going with it. And my husband family friends all know this is me now. My BFF says "I wish I had your nerve" which makes no sense to me. If you want to do it, do it. Who cares. No-one basically. They're all too concerned about their own appearance to become overly interested in yours. Enjoy!
It's not weird, I am a heart attack survivor and decided to start having the hair I never had...I am enjoying my wigs and am glad someone else is saying it too! Be well and keep healing! xo
Thank you! You just described me, except for the age. I am quite a bit older, awe heck, I could be your mother. I just started buying them when all that you mentioned plus I was destroying my hair with bleaching it. So, I had to get it cut the damaged hair off. All the medicines I am on has had some pretty ruff side effects. Any way, good for you! Now, if I could only be less self-conscious about actually wearing them in public. I feel like everyone knows and "is she sick?", I'm sure you know what I mean. ...and why are Caucasian women so ashamed or afraid, "people will know?" And we feel like we have to explain - even make jokes about our selves - if I get a complements about the color (happened to me in ULTA), I lifted my cap and whispered, "it's a wig). Does anyone else feel like this? Thank you sweetie! Very much! 👏🏼🌹💄
I am new to wigs as well and I love them! And you look beautiful! You But more than that I want you to know how proud I am of you for doing the hard work of getting free from the past. I will be praying for you in the days to come. The work is hard but the freedom on the other side is amazing. Cling on to that truth... in the long run the peace will be so worth it!
You are a very strong person inside for telling your story. I too have fibromyalgia. People think that to have this you must be a weak person but that is not the case because it is being strong too long that gives us this horrible problem. I too lost my hair from anxiety and stress. I enjoy your videos and think you are a beautiful person and can wear those wigs wonderfully well. thank you for sharing this.
I appreciate everything you said! I think the more I worry what others think of me wearing wigs the more it takes the enjoyment out of it. And I really do it because it is enjoyable: I can wear a different style (that my own hair would never be able to do) and it makes me feel pretty too! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Love this! I just had my very first wig cut and styled today. It was scary and exciting all at the same time. I have thinning hair for years now and I made the decision to start wearing wigs to give myself my thick hair back. I miss not worrying about how the top of my head looks. I'm tired of trying to style it to cover up the thinning areas. Thank you for telling your story. I think that you rock all of the wigs that you have reviewed.
I just bought my first three beautiful wigs, and love every one, I was thinning and u could see my scalp, tried to style and color so u couldn’t see it, but to no avail, my wigs make me happy and they are so fun.
I completely relate to you on why the wig. I simply never had good hair, and I couldn't naturally change the color with dyeing because its fine and fairly eazy to damage.
I love that you posted this! I can so relate to what you are saying. Stress/anxiety/hormones set off from an extremely emotional event. My hair broke off/fell out, over 50%. Like I wasn't depressed enough. I was wearing/covering my hair in a stretchy workout headband all the time which was good for hanging around or just running up to the store quick but I'm out of work and thought the headband was not in my best interest for interviews. So, I started researching online, found all the channels that everyone follows and yours recently. Still not totally comfortable wearing them out but listening and watching you and the others gives me the extra bit of push I need sometimes. Thank you for this video and all your reviews. I love watching them.
Oh Maria! I can absolutely relate! I think it was a specific event for me too, though I didn't recognize it at the time. Now, after a lot of time has passed, I can see it more clearly. Funny how that works. My first 'real' wig was the Jon Renau Natalie, because it looked a lot like a style I had had a lot in real life. It was an easy seque from real hair to fake hair, you know? I had to wear it around the house for a couple weeks before I was comfortable enough to wear outside - but now I feel naked outside without a wig! And my hair has grown back!
Your hair sounds a lot like mine. I wore extensions for years to thicken my thin hair. I was buying the hair I did not have biologically, and I still am. I wear a topper every day to work. I don't leave the house without hair. The wig you are wearing looks natural. It's the hair you should have been born with. Dealing with stuff from youth is really tough. I wish you the best.
You were helpful to me when I finally started wearing wigs which was a year ago last spring I always loved wigs as well cuz I have always hated my hair when I seen you're video it inspired me so ty
You are amazing! Thank you for your story! Your story was incredibly inspiring even if there wasn't a big tragic reason for wearing wigs. I share the same reason. I just have crappy thin awful hair and I feel better with a wig on :)
I'm really glad I found your channel and I'm even happier I ran into this particular video. I am also in my mid 40's and am experiencing significant hair thinning/loss from anxiety and stress. I also have ptsd and I just lost my oldest son last July which didnt help the ptsd situation. I just started wearing wigs a few months ago and its the first time anything has really lifted my mood since he died. I dont even care at this point if my hair stops falling out as I am enjoying being able to change up my style when I want, that I dont think I will ever stop wearing wigs LOL. Angelica looks fantastic on you by the way. I just got her 3 days ago. I havnt played with her too much just yet, but she looks so different on you (more natural) than she does on me. I'm hoping I can play around and get her looking better on me. Take care
Good for you! I love that you are bold enough to wear different styles and colors from day to day. Me too!!! I started about a year ago. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with cancer. I really thought I would be able to handle the possibility of losing my hair and if it happened I would embrace it like Demi Moore in G.I.Jane and shave my head. Well that didn't happen. The first clump on hair that jumped off my head freaked me out. I said to myself nope this is not ok. I need a wig. So I bought 2 natural looking yet different from each other. I didn't loose all my bio hair but enough to make me uncomfortable with how I felt so my wig or "hair hat" collection grew. Do what makes you feel good, you don't have to justify why you wear them. You do. How many times do you see women walking around with the hair we purchased tied up in a unkept ponytail everyday. We can be camera ready in 10 seconds;) xo
OMG, I can't believe we have the same feelings and story. My thinning hair is genetic though. I'm 56 y/o, my crown and front is so thin that you were standing over me, you can see my balding crown. I have always been interested in wigs, I see my black american co-workers sporting beautifully wigs weekly and always wanted to do the same. Thank you, yes you are absolutely an inspiration.... I will definitely do what makes me happy.
I have experienced hairloss through stress, depression , anxiety and having gone through childhood abuse and trauma. I have to wear wigs but always paranoid of people knowing it is a wig. I also have body dysmorphia which makes things even worse. Sending hugs and love to you x Thankyou for making this video
Ok, so I think your awesome. I'm 43 and started wearing wigs about 1 year ago, after I developed an autoimmune illness and allergy to hair dye. People that I know have seen me with them on. Then off. Then on..i swear I drive myself crazy, because they bring me joy too. Sometimes I don't wear them because of what others think, but that is highly overrated and I'm done caring about their opinions. I have decent hair, but it is half salt and pepper and have dyed brown. Thanks for the encouragement! Long live the wig! :)
You helped me get the confidence to get my first wig last spring and I have been wearing them ever since like you I always was interested in them and was afraid of what ppl wld think now I could care less cuz wigs are awesome
Really enjoyed your video.....just got a wig due to chemo and initially cried about losing my hair. But wearing this wig is great, my hair always looks perfect without the fuss. Thinking I might be into something 😏 good here inspite the reason why I got it initially. I do want to say though, I think you're beautiful regardless what's on your head, but keep doing what makes you happy.
Angelica is a pretty wig I have her in two colors and Robin too and you helped me get my first wig last spring and the courage to finally get them I have donated a lot of my older ones to a cancer place but I agree wigs are awesome and if they make you happy you should wear them they make me happy too so I don't think that's weird I love all of you're videos
I love wigs also and just started purchasing them. I'm so pale and naturally blond and I am terrified to wear brunette shades. Hopefully, this fall I will get over it but , I understand why you love them. I really want to start a collection but some are so expensive.
I love wigs. No one thinks it’s weird to wear a hat or cap or color your your hair. It’s an accessory, it’s fun, it’s hair styles I could never have have. My hair is a hot mess. It’s VERY thin kinky wave and fussy. I’ve fought this Brillo pad my whole life and I’m done. Love my wigs ❤️❤️❤️❤️😍
Way to go! I feel the same way...I do have some hair loss from anxiety, so I do wear them sometimes and sometimes I dont. I'm older than you, and I dont really care what anybody else thinks.
My hair started to thin. I have already changed my hair style often going blonde to red etc. So my co-workers weren't surprised when one day I showed up with long dark hair. They thought it was a weave. But then the next day I had a short bob. The day after that my hair was blonde. So they figured out it was wigs plus I just told them cause I'm to lazy to lie. My female co-workers get a kick out of it. My one co-worker has made up names for each of my wigs. So I'm Sasha in the long curly wig, the Tiffany as a blonde etc. The men were puzzled at first cause they thought it was my hair (most men have no clue about women's hair). I just told them it's wigs. My favorite is when people haven't seen me in a while they always think I just changed my hair those people I don't tell it's wigs I just let them think I spent hours curling my hair;) Wigs are awesome and a lot of fun. As more and more celebrities use wigs the taboo is going away. But at a certain point it doesn't manner what people think it manners what makes you happy in your life. I say go for it. I love this wig on you very pretty blonde. Your video is a very inspiring encouraging people to take enjoyment where you can find it. This video was filmed almost a year ago. I hope things have gotten better for you with the PTSD and anxiety that you are suffering from. I'm sorry that your past is causing you such pain. Hopefully the future will bring nothing but joy. :) I enjoy your wig videos a lot they have helped me in picking out wigs and wig colors.
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I hope you’ve found your way through your anxiety problems since you made this. I look forward to seeing your newer videos to find out! As a guy, I have a question. You said wigs make you happy. Suppose you’re a guy and feel that way (women in wigs)? Aside from the obvious (they look great & you can quickly and drastically change your look) I love the idea of being in an a shared secret. Like you’re fooling those around you. There’s no socially acceptable way for someone like me to move forward with this idea. I’ve lived with this 30 years and still haven’t figure it out.
Hi girl, I feel like u and I have same problems. I too have very thin and fine hair lacking in volume. In last year and half I collected around 30 wigs myself 😺👌🏻 they are fun, aren’t they? 🤓 hope ur health gets better
Hi , love your videos, i wear them too! We all are reasons why we wear them and people should never judge but some do. We wear them for confidence and to feel better. I was abused as s child , liked in foster care, then i dated an abusive man . I left him and now pay the consequences of the stress, which effects us in so many ways. Best Of luck . My name is Dawn😊
Hi Dawn, it's so nice to meet you. Abuse stays with you, and we tend to end up in relationships with partners who treat us the way we were treated as children. I struggled with that for many years, but finally found a man who really treats me with compassion. He's not perfect, but he's helping me break the cycle with our own kids. :)
I also have PTSD from two very abusive marriages, I have fibromyalgia very bad n I also feel a little funny wearing wigs because I also live in a very small town. but I think the way you say n that is that I love wigs n I love the fact that I can have beautiful nice hair on a daily basis and have different hairstyles too so hopefully I will get to a point where I just won't care what people think. I love you and your videos I am now a Subbie lol
Go Kaleo Style I can't afford the nicer wigs because I'm on SSI and I'm 52 yrs old I'm trying not to look old but not to look like I'm trying to be alot younger than I am too so I'm just trying to get some style in my life lol I need help n your videos are helping me alot. thank you
Hi , it is nice to meet you too!! Omg , i read my text to you and sorry for the errors in grammar. I gave the angelica in mocha h too! I like the miranda and the longing for long ones too, are the colors on the ashy side to, because i like ashy for my skin tone. I am in my forties too . I am nervous to try other styles but you wear them well. Thanks for the response before. Your videos open light on wearing wigs because i get nervous , and i feel insecure at times.
The Miranda in 22F16 is definitely say. The longing for long is a little more golden though. Jon Renau 12FS8 is on the cool side. And if you're open to a lighter brunette, the Almandine (Jon Renau) is a beautiful medium ash brown with ash blonde highlights!
I wear wigs too, i hate my own natural hair and want not having every day the same hair colour and style, so i wear wigs the last couple of years. I made a great collection of some 27 wigs.
another thing we deal with in our forties is...... hormones!!!!!' in the last five years my hair had been getting so thin. all that pre-memopause junk! The angelica wig looks very nice on you!!!
I was stunned to hear you say you are in your mid 40s. In that wig you look like someone in her late 20s! Im another woman so I have no reason to say this other than its what I really think.
Enjoy!
Thank YOU for being so vulnerable and transparent, I too have been diagnosed with PTSD. That wig looks beautiful on you.
It's not weird, I am a heart attack survivor and decided to start having the hair I never had...I am enjoying my wigs and am glad someone else is saying it too! Be well and keep healing! xo
Me too...
Eventually I wanna wig too.. that fits, and I like...
Thanks for your story.
Thank you Charlotte. :) You share the name with one of my sisters. Somehow that seems appropriate. I appreciate the prayers.
Go Kaleo Style nothing weird about it just got my first wig and love it
God bless you, dear. Anxiety has so many negative effects on our bodies.
Thank you for sharing. Huge hug from Chile.
Your so right... I've getting wigs now that are 'the hair' I already wanted but could never get with my natural hair.
Thanks for sharing your story. It looks beautiful on you.
I appreciate everything you said! I think the more I worry what others think of me wearing wigs the more it takes the enjoyment out of it. And I really do it because it is enjoyable: I can wear a different style (that my own hair would never be able to do) and it makes me feel pretty too! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
good video. hairpieces & wigs are everywhere & have been for hundreds of years.... we just never knew! ; )
Love this! I just had my very first wig cut and styled today. It was scary and exciting all at the same time. Thank you Karrie! I'm so glad you finally bit the bullet! What wig did you choose?
Go Kaleo Style I purchased a malky wig from eBay. It European human hair and wavy. It's a beautiful wig!
I just bought my first three beautiful wigs, and love every one, I was thinning and u could see my scalp, tried to style and color so u couldn’t see it, but to no avail, my wigs make me happy and they are so fun.
You're story is similar to mine in many ways and I get great joy from my wigs as well. Enjoy!
Thank you for telling your story... I can relate so much.
Thank you for sharing. Your story is my story and I'm glad I found your videos.
I completely relate to you on why the wig. I simply never had good hair, and I couldn't naturally change the color with dyeing because its fine and fairly eazy to damage.
You look gorgeous in that wig. It looks so natural!
I adore you so much this video gave me the courage to start wearing wigs three years ago I love you're videos you are such a beautiful person
You look gorgeous and the hair looks natural, I'll have to get one for Gayle, my alter ego femme fatale😄. Thanks for sharing
You said many of thethings I feel too about wigs, so thank you!!!! Really, enjoy your life!

same here.

I agree! wigs are JOYOUS! you look great. Love your videos.
I love the Angelica wig one of the prettiest wigs getting dark chocolate brown soon I love you're wig reviews
You look beautiful in that wig I would say you look like your in your 20s
Love this! I also got into wigs, love them. You made my day. Xxxx

The blonde looks great on you.
Aww Patti. Thank you. Sounds like we are peas in a pod.
Go Kaleo Style I can't afford the nicer wigs because I'm on SSI and I'm 52 yrs old I'm trying not to look old but not to look like I'm trying to be alot younger than I am too so I'm just trying to get some style in my life lol I need help n your videos are helping me alot. thank you
I wear them too. May family hates it. my hair is too hard to style.
you look BEAUTIFUL!
You gave me the courage to buy my first wig 2 years ago
I wear wigs too, i hate my own natural hair and want not having every day the same hair colour and style, so i wear wigs the last couple of years. I made a great collection of some 27 wigs.
Nothing weird about it! They are fun, and pretty. Just like changing clothes is fun! I think a lot of people enjoy them.
You're an inspiration:)
You are in your early to mid 40s??? Wow. You looks so young, and also beautiful.
God bless you!!
another thing we deal with in our forties is...... hormones!!!!!' in the last five years my hair had been getting so thin. all that pre-memopause junk! The angelica wig looks very nice on you!!!
Oh yes, the perimenopause hormones are SO much fun, aren't they? Lol. We'll make it through. :)
Can you give us your ebay name again? I heard it in one of your videos but I couldn't hear the whole thing. Thx for the videos!
What's the name of the wig you are wearing now please? Very nice video. Thanks you 👍🏻👍🏻😊😊😊😊
Thanks! The wig I'm wearing is the Angelica by Noriko, in the color Mocha H. :)
I would never guess that is a wig! Great style and color on you.
I would Love you.
Thank YOU.
Good for you! !!
Thanks Terri!
❤️
No one is too old to wear wigs !!!!!
I was stunned to hear you say you are in your mid 40s. In that wig you look like someone in her late 20s! Im another woman so I have no reason to say this other than its what I really think.
You need to change your scary eye lenses .
Gawd, you’re jealous 😂
