Feel the same too bro. But at the end of the day, in today's world attention = money. If you can capture people's attention or interest , money will come in large whether it is selling a product or playing sports.
I'm a former Navy helicopter rescue swimmer/crewman. Pilots and air rescue crewmen/combat crewmen don't get paid a lot either for doing the job that most people cannot qualify for. My graduating class size for the last schooling before working in the fleet as crewmen was 5 total graduates. We lose many people from them not passing training and tests. A few were university graduates and university dropouts that didn't pass the training or exams. The pay is not a lot and this is why most pilots and crewmen don't stay in the military/Navy after our first enlistment contract is over. If our pay was close to triple/if it started at around $130,000 yearly then I and majority of others would renew our contracts and stay in the Navy to continue performing with H-60 helicopters. Helicopter crewmen get out after our first contract because the pay doesn't match our value we give, including risking our lives when flying 4-5 times a week. On occasion we all would experience helicopter malfunctions/emergency landings and for some it was controlled crash landings. And the longer you stay in the job the more chances you give at becoming the few crewmen that don't survive the helicopter malfunctions. Others and I leave after our first enlistment contract because the low pay was not worth the work and the constant risk of our lives we gave. I'm all for serving my country which is why I didn't complain about the pay and was willing to give my time for a few years, while receiving low pay. But don't ask me to spend 20 years of my life serving my country if the pay will be low and my work and life risk will be high throughout. Most people stayed in because they bought a house and started a family. If our country wants more people to stay in the military for 10 to 20 years they will have to nearly triple the salary. Getting people to serve one enlistment term, with low pay, is easy because a lot of people just want to serve. Our population has far more Veterans who served one enlistment term than others who served more than one term.
That's not bad. Where I live that's 3 times the median income. And they have far lower living expenses. Can't really put a price on what they do, but it's more than I thought it would be.
Pay based on rank like every branch of service. An E5 or O3 all make the same amount doesn’t matter if you’re Army Navy or Space Force. In the Army there’s certain Pro Pays, additional pay for being Airborne. It was $100. a month extra when I was in. We didn’t get extra for being Special Forces. It’s based on rank and time in service.
They get paid in book, TV, and Movie deals. Then they get paid speaking tours, product endorsements and placements, and lucrative PMC contracts with Blackwater
Never ever rely on the promise of a “bonus” in the military. The base salary for your rank is the only thing you can truly trust regardless of your actual rate (MOS).
It depends where your stationed. San Diego, Virginia Beach, or Hawaii are the three main duty station. If you just finished training and got to your team in San Diego, you’re probably making about $70k a year until get a special pay, make rank, or get out. Keep in mind that’s after healthcare costs. Tricare is 100% for military. Really if you adjust for other benefits, it’s more like the civilian equivalent of bringing home $85k/year.
They don't get paid enough for the job(s) that they perform. They don't just risk physically but psychologically as well. Bravo to those who are in special forces!

Well let’s just say I’m sure glad I can drive a truck. I’d hate to work all year and be broke
Lol i learned how to drive a 18 wheeler in the Airforce as well as cranes forklifts and other heavy equipment dozers etcetera and put a ton of time in each of those vehicles over my 23 years of service and i was not even in transportation career field so what is your point? You learn all sorts of "skills" in the Military.

Haha well at least someone is getting paid well!
yeah but you have to pay rent and everything. you can live off a much smaller amount of money if they give you shelter and food for free. that is why people who think prisoners should make minimum wage (or more) to work are retarded. they would literally be making and saving more than people who didn't go to prison. people works get locked up on purpose to be get the work.

And no one said you shouldnt get paid what your worth these are people who go through the worse environments humanity has ever seen for $60,000 a year fuck that how would I be able to live besides that most special forces members on average are over 30 with bills and depts to pay and kids to raise and take care of, how are they supposed to do that and pay for everything and then go through deadly environments with out a thank you or the propef amount of money to support them selfs so that they can continue to go through that stuff and people wonder why no one wants to join the military anymore and why veterans take there lives everyday because the U.S government doesn't fucking call about they're military members we spend over 800 billion dollars a year on our military and we can't set aside some of that for the members that truly do the most

Nope! Not enough

But athletes get millions...smh these are the guys that should get paid the big bucks real super heros
For sure, probably the closest you can get to a real life avengers
Dont think you understand how much talent it takes to make millions playing sports. Only a couple hundred people in the world make millions playing sports. Every little kid in the world dreamt of becoming a pro athlete, and hundreds of millions have tried. Only a couple hundred made millions. On top of that, those people make money because people like you put the money in their pockets. In other words theyre extremely influential and generate much much more money than they actually make. These r the guys that should be making millions, not a guys passing a ball playing a game
No.
Feel the same too bro. But at the end of the day, in today's world attention = money. If you can capture people's attention or interest , money will come in large whether it is selling a product or playing sports.
Love the retention bonus, keeps them from going merc immediately. Glad these bonuses are part of their deal.
SEALs are something, and the look in a Marine eyes is unforgettable
Depends upon their pay grade and where they are stationed. It’s all public information and can be found online.
They should get whatever the average minimum salary is for professional athletes.
Swap the monkey lebron's salary with theirs
Yeah, why not? Trillions of dollars is already "missing" anyway, let's just go down with the ship

When you add free rent and free food, it’s actually WAY higher than $60k.

Never ever rely on the promise of a “bonus” in the military. The base salary for your rank is the only thing you can truly trust regardless of your actual rate (MOS).
All the training and all the high risk missions they deserve at least half a million
Crap pay
Totally agree
Every single one should make what a Senator makes!
Crazy how our heroes make less than athletes
Not enough STILL…. And thank ALL OF THEM!!!!🇺🇸
Must also calculate in all the "benefits" that go along with being a government employee. The whole package is impressive.
These operators should be millionaires
It depends where your stationed. San Diego, Virginia Beach, or Hawaii are the three main duty station. If you just finished training and got to your team in San Diego, you’re probably making about $70k a year until get a special pay, make rank, or get out.
Keep in mind that’s after healthcare costs. Tricare is 100% for military. Really if you adjust for other benefits, it’s more like the civilian equivalent of bringing home $85k/year.
That little part of me: “you seem to be broke. I have the perfect solution 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍”
