Poor animals have to suffer, because of people's greed. It is so sad.
Thank-you for keeping us updated. God Bless.
This disturbs me deeply. 😭 I wish they would shut those places down!!!
Those poor baby tigers - that's an awful enterprise that isn't going to end well for those animals. I'm glad the cruise captain warned the passengers not to support it.
yeah small enterprises like that are not know for taking care of animals for sure
@@Donsfamilyvacations But animals that are not raised for entertainment or food go extint. Let them raise tigers for petting, better than no tigers left
Disney exploits animals too. So what if they get food and Vets, it's not like they are wild in nature
@willyyoung6881 The animals in those places are abused and neglected. I support Zoos and sanctuaries who protect captive animals, but the non licensed places all over Mexico are horrible!
@@lorimasterson8427 How do you know that? If I had a tiger and made my living letting people pet it, I wouldn't abuse what feeds my family. You believe it because someone says it.
Our condolences to the family of the missing crew member.
I agree with you Don. I don't like seeing wild animals used for entertainment. Let's not encourage this.
The Big Cats are abused in these situations, they are fine while they are small but when they get a little too big, they are dumped in sanctuary or rescue to live out their sorry lives. Please, please people, don't support these merchants!
Thank you for the Warning. I hope you're having a fantastic day. God bless.
Well done to the cruise captain for putting out the caution/warning to passengers regarding the tigers/animals. I would give almost anything to be able to be next to such a beautiful creature, but we simply MUST resist as the consequences to their life can be devastating to them.
Prayers for family of missing crew member and thanks for sharing news on tiger petting in Mexico
Those poor little cubs….
Thanks for the info
Thank you for ALL your information!!!
Just like the elephants in Thailand their mistreated for Commerce and tourism and don't live a happy life I'm sure petting the tiger cubs in these ports is very similar
I'm afraid it most likely is too
Good for Carnival...so sad. Also bless the peole of the lost. Finally. Great for sesible changes on fuel. fingers crossed.
Thank you for this information so sad since there is not much in Ensenada. Poor animals
Good on Carnival for putting out this warning.
Poor tigers! Breaks my heart ♥️
Appreciate all warnings
Thak you
Ensenada is primarily a foreign port so cruise ships can meet their requirement when sailing from California to Hawaii and back or West coast cruise that doesn't go to Canada. They have a shopping area inside the Cruise port that you can make a quick stop to by cheap Mexican items and not have to leave the port area. They don't really have any excursions worth doing there.
Exactly. It's a quick, short stop with nothing really happening in Ensenada. It's a cute port with shops that have some decent stuff. I bought a leather purse that is really pretty there and not expensive.
Animal cruelty and extortion is far more widely available to the tourist industry than you may at first think. Elephant rides in Taiwan, the donkeys in Santorini to give just 2 simple examples. If theres an Animal orientated attraction that you are interested in please google the welfare conditions and concerns first and NEVER purchase anything in the Chinese regions which is animal related medicines.
good advice
@@Donsfamilyvacations Add any tours with captive dolphins to the list. Intelligent, social, family animals. They aren't "smiling," that is the shape of their mouths.
@@karlahart_AKThere are a few places in the Caribbean that are true dolphin sanctuaries, but most are not responsible caregivers and do exploit the dolphins, see lions, etc...
Keep up the good work!
Thanks for your video Don. It was very informative and my prayers and condolences to the family of that crewmember. Also, you are correct on with the tiger, cub petting!🙏🏼🌹🛳️🌴🌺⚓️🫶🏼
I appreciate you providing important information to cruisers regarding safety at various ports. You are very thorough in your videos and the information is very helpful. Thanks,
Thanks for updates
So nice of you
I actually did this little “zoo” with my grandkids on a Carnival excursion in Ensenada. I was bitten by what was said to be a “big baby Black Jaguar” and it tore my jeans and drew blood. I required medical treatment back home from the bite.
Hi Don. Thank you for the warning
Keep all the awesome videos coming Don, love them all!
Another great update, thanks
Just sailed with Capt. Kate. It was a 8 day cruise to the ABC islands. She and her whole crew were great! We even got a selfie with her when we departed yesterday!
I recommend doing a reputable Tiger cub visit; I did one at Kalahari in Sandusky, Ohio. It was beyond awesome
Animals must be protected!
I agree
@@Donsfamilyvacations Close all slaughter houses then and become a vegan. Hypocrite
Next thing you know is they will be telling us not to play with the snakes in the jungle😂😂😊
Holding any animals captive anywhere is cruel, regardless of how they're treated.
Mexico just sounds scary right now.
Thank you Don very good information, especially about the animals. I think common sense might go a long way cause I would have no desire to pet a tiger cub.
The care of these animals is just another example of the many things we need to be aware of as we travel the world.
We never ever use any form of animal transport in port; animal picture taking, we don’t even do dolphin encounters given they are kept in small enclosures often able to see the big blue just beyond. Cruel I think so we never support such activities. People like to complain Don, that’s a fact of life I’m afraid whether justified or not we live in a self righteous society now and getting worse by the generation.
I hope that everyone heeeds these warnings. It's a tragic life for the animals and not worth the 5 minutes of the thrill people get for being with them...
I agree with you!
thank you :)
Didn’t realize that the Rotterdam is only a few years old- bet it’s a great ship to see Norway! Glad Holland is converting oil to be able to continue to cruise there!
Good Afternoon Don
We played with monkeys and a baby tiger in the Caribbean. These animals were abused and taken to a sanctuary. The fees we paid went to care for the animals.
I visited the Blow Hole in Ensenada and I saw this place..I noticed a baby jaguar and a full grown white tiger..it was a hard pass for me
Good for Carnival for giving a heads up to stay away from those animal parks. It can’t be a good life for those cubs.
I agree about Mexico.
I have a picture of my Mother and me petting a lion cub from 40 years ago in the USA. We were told at the time the money was for a lion rescue and medical treatment organization. Now I wonder if that was true or we were duped.
It would be good if the cruise lines put out a warning not to use the Santorini donkeys. I've seen the way they are "looked after" and it breaks just about every rule of animal welfare you can imagine.
When we were on Celebrity in Santorini, the day before they told us they didn't recommend the use of the donkeys and preferred us to either walk the steps or the cable car or whatever it is called
@@dawnbellerive4717 Yep I remember celebrity doing that too. Couldn’t say no, but strongly advised.
We were just in Ensenada and were tempted, being cat lovers, but we know it's not good for the kitties and passed on it.
Other than cruise port shopping, I probably would not get off the ship in Ensenada. Being an animal lover, I would love the opportunity to be up close to a tiger cub. Tiger King and Carnival’s warning really remind us to check out the places that offer up close encounters to any animals before supporting them with our hard earned money. Animals are not for our “entertainment”. Close encounters that are for the education, care and appreciation of animals are more deserving of our attention.
This always sad when someone goes missing
I didn't get off the ship in Ensanada I didn't appreciate alot of people asking me for money when we went to Ensanda by car pervious two years before
Common sense says avoid!
agree
Hi Don !
I am cruising on the Ovation ots. When I set up my vroom package, the second step says, “ Turn off your VPN.”
I was not amused.
Love the podcast….
Hi Don, you hear about the passenger who went overboard on P and O' s Pacific Adventure off Sydney Heads, this morning, Monday, around 4.00, unfortunately, he didn't survive.
The media said he fell overboard, but I reckon he went voluntarily. Or met with foul play.
That's great HAL is looking at alternative fuel sources. 👍
Hi Don..so my question is .. how did they get the cubs???? Im pretty sure that it' s not very legal to buy them unless some shady business is going on. i personally wouldn't even pet them. I'd be too afraid 😬😬😬
Many feel the same about horse & buggy rides.
Glad to hear about using biofuel
There is a tiger cub petting place on 5th avenue in Playa Del Carmen.
Pet a Tiger?
Ask Carole Baskins' husband....
Sad news about the missing crew member.
It's heartbreaking to think about how those poor baby cubs are being treated. And as you've said, things will probably only get worse as they get older.
Instead of cocaine bear there’s cocaine tiger cubs.
Happy Cinco de Mayo🎉
How a culture treats animals tells a lot about that culture. Mexico has long been a cruel place for dogs. I imagine that carries over to other animals.
I would stay away from those types of excursions in that area. Not good for the animals at all
Poor tigers
Mexico scares me. I don’t leave the secure area in Ensenada.
As much as I love your Channel would love to hear more positive news than negative or tragic …
Fueled By French Fries! Love it! :)
How about carnival stop swim with the dolphin excursions as well?
I read or heard somewhere that the ship which hit the Key bridge in Baltimore harbor stalled its engines due to burning biofuel and that’s why they lost power and control of the ship. Not sure if that’s true or not. Maybe someone else can confirm or deny.
no that ship was not on biofuel for sure
While petting a tiger cub, I wondered what happens to them when they get older - as I ate up my meat pie.
wild animals do not belong in restraunts
Don, it might be good to suggest travel insurance for those cruisers that insist on visiting the tigers in Ensenada who have their petting hands bitten off by an unhappy tiger! ha, ha
I take cruises because I know where I am sleeping and what I am eating
Lot of interesting things going on now
I suggest stick to cruise line excursions.. we in Australia have just found out two beuriful Australians ans an American were murdered recently near that port in Mexico ..it was a Robert gone wrong .. all 3 shot in the head and thrown down a well near beach .. only found because the female had one of the aussies phones and it when she used it it let police know where it was.. love to the families of this tremble crime Lois Sydney aus
What's going on with the Carnival Vista?
What in the world is a Norwegian forge !!!!! ????? 🙄
It's too bad that this even is STILL a thing after all the animal protection laws, zoos, sanctuaries. Too bad those babies were separated from Mom, illegally sold to those 'owners ' on the black market. Wish they would shut them down, remove the animals and now they too have to be enclosed the rest of their lives. Let's see what WWF makes of this.😢
As far as I am concerned the tiger cub interaction is animal abuse. It is disgusting.
Hi Don
No thank you! Wild animals scare me.
Other than sled puppies in Alaska, I ain’t pettin’ nothin. 😅….sorry to hear of yet another death from a cruise ship. Sincere condolences.
It is not a good thing to pet Tiger petting. It is not good for the animal itself.
DISGRACEFUL MEXICO and tiger cubs.
I have no interest and swimming with dolphins or turtles or other sealife. Nor do I want to pet anything other than a dog or cat.
NO I would not ever support ANIMAL ABUSE
🐯
This needs to stop! Where are they getting these tiger cubs from? Good for the captain to warn his guests about this, all cruise ships need to do the same.
theres always a black marcket out there :(
I would now avoid the cubs exhibits in Mexico.
Animals must be protected!
I was just on the Radiance a few weeks ago to Ensenada and THANKFULLY we didn't see baby tigers in port. 😢
As cute as the cubs are, I certainly agree with the warning from Carnival. The pig Island in Bahamas should be looked at as well
Indeed. A lady just had her leg amputated from going to the pig island. She had shaved her legs and had a cut, didn't bandage or cover it before getting into the water with the pigs. She got an infection serious enough to cause her leg to be amputated.
We kill pigs for food in slaughter houses but you are worried about pigs swiming in the ocean? Hypocrite
@@mariebrooks7341 YIKES !!
Thank you ❤
Remember the Tiger King.
good point
When we have an internet package on cruise ship (Celebrity and HAL) we can't use VPN
Mexico has always been an issue for tourism. I live in Mexico and I always have to keep my head on a swivel. Anybody calling you "Amigo", run and don't look back.
This could be dangerous for both animals and people.
It’s also sad even Cozumel is having problems now! It used to be pretty safe, not now. With all the many other islands that have problems as well with Thug islanders doing their job robbing, etc we aren’t going on anymore Caribbean cruises for a good while!
