Yes! He does look like Fred Ward! It was driving me crazy try to place who Siege reminded me of. For a minute I thought he looked like Jeremy Renner, but thought, nah, that ain’t it.

Seriously, the second they showed Siege in the reveal video I just assumed they modeled him after Fred. Of course, that could have more to do with me having watched "Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins" way too many times.

As cool as the Crimson Moon stuff is, I kinda feel like we need to wait and see how good the Monster Force figures turn out. Just seems like we should see how good the Monster Force stuff is before committing to a new line ya know?

Oh, if I get Monster Force in hand and they're not good, I will definitely be basing my decision to keep my pre-orders for Crimson Moon up based on that! I do have some of the Naughty or Nice figures and I don't hate those. They're fairly well constructed and my only real issue with them is the limited articulation. But...they are big, beefy Santas, so that has an affect on them too. I'm HOPING we're going to be getting something from Monster Force soon. Even if it's just Van Helsing, just something to get an idea of what the line will be like. I do have to admit that my love of classic monsters (vampires, werewolves, mummies, etc.) played a large part in me just jumping in on ordering the Crimson Moon line.

Like you, I'm not a big Action Force collector. Honestly, most of the ones I have, I bought because they complimented my Classified display. I understand where AF fans would be wanting new named characters, and a different look, but this wave doesn't do much for me. None of them are bad figures, but take away the gear, and they've lost that uniform military look that I liked most about the line. Without their gear, Atlas and Col. Siege look like some guys from Montana mending a fence row. I do like the new trooper, Sidewinder, and the BAT knockoff. I also love the chest rig in the new gear pack. I liked the plate carriers, but I'm a sucker for a lightweight chest rig in real life, so I can't wait to pick up a few of them. I'm not impressed at all with the weapons pack. That modern BAR is another goofy novelty gun in the real world, and the flame thrower and the Chiapa Rhino revolvers outright suck. I do like the FNX semi auto pistol. It's one of my favorite handguns. I know I'm in the minority concerning my opinion on the new figure wave, and I'm sure the constant reuse was getting old to Valaverse fans. The Crimson moon figures look great, but they're a little too obscure for me to collect. I only collect GI Joe, aside from a few Valaverse figures. I know they look like the vintage Action Force figures, but they're just not my thing. As always, great video!

"Without their gear, Atlas and Col. Siege look like some guys from Montana mending a fence row." - Oh my God they do. Like action figure renditions of Earl and Valentine from "Tremors".
I'm the same way with AF, I pick up figures that I can fenagle into the Classified line, whether I have to make something up or not. Like Warpath Eclipse. I love that figure and was easy enough to say that she's part of Nightforce. The Praetorian androids fit in well enough as Serpentor's guard. And Pandora works with the Dreadnoks. Even the first figures I bought from AF, Sgt. Slaughter and the original Steel Brigade figure; I got those when I backed the initial Kickstarter. It was the early days of Classified and I wasn't sure if Hasbro would make a new deal with Sarge or think about the Steel Brigade/Steel Corps, so I got those to supplement Classified. Now, both of them have pretty much been binned.
I did not realize that was a BAR. I just looked it up when you mentioned that, I thought it was supposed to be a sniper or precision rifle. The "flame thrower" I just kinda shrug on. It's obviously based off the Boring Company "flame thrower" that is so not a flame thrower...but AF takes place in the near future, and there's some scifi elements to the Joes, so I'm just kinda "meh" on that whole thing.
I was under the impression that AF fans LIKE the uniform army builders in the line. That's one reason I didn't pick up too many figures. While I'll army build factions like Cobra and the Iron Grenadiers, the Joes I'm not too big on doing that. I don't like the idea of the Green Shirts, like in the cartoon. I always pictured the Joe team being hand-picked individuals that made up the team. Specialists and the best of their type. More like the comic origins. That's why I get more interested in a wave like this that has the new characters.
Now that you mention it though, it IS kind of odd that the line has all those army building troops...and then the named characters, presumably the leaders, are just wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
