Good job guys. Once you get the air filter back on and set the air fuel mixture you should be good to go.

i have a 1991 panther body is totaled i have a old xcr 440 frame, with chaincase that i am going to put most of the panther into. its going to be alot of work. im going to bore out the arctic cat 440 to a 500 and then swap it. after that i will take the shocks off the front and use them hopefully on the xcr 440. then i will mod the rear whole suspension to fit the xcr. its going to be a BIG fun project. i will post all of it on my channel. the swapping onto the xrc frame wont happen until this summer because its under snow. i will post some of me tearing the panther down though.

Compressions a bit low even with some oil helping it. Aren't the cylinders cast in nikasil or Nickel plated. My 96 440 is. I'd be scared to run that Hone through it. If it's bad send it out to get re sleeved.
It probably would still run on 80.psi on a good day

What piston kit did you get for it?

I don't remember which piston kit Archie ordered, but if I had to guess, it was one on eBay. Thanks for watching!

Great video! I have the same sled and I can’t get it to run anymore. It seems like it may be a fuel supply issue. I’ve made sure the fuel pump is good, replaced the fuel filter, replaced the gas, and made sure the fuel lines are good. Any ideas?

Depends on the application. Some engines are easy to make mistakes on. Some are simpler.
PS: Mice are the curse of snowmobiles. They go up the exhaust . They go into the air box. They figure out ways to get into the crankcase and defecate or urinate all over. Depending on their diet that waste can be super corrosive. I’ve seen crankshafts destroyed by long term mice exposure. Sealing the engine up with something to block mice for long term storage is important. I like to use steel wool or steel wool Brillo Pads soaked in oil stuffed in the tailpipe. They hate the taste. You could probably rig up something similar for the air box inlet. I only have vintage sleds with no box so I just keep the carb grill on or block it off. My 2 cents that work for me.
