My problem is that the jam occurs in the slide under the handle, not the pressure point. There's no way I can reach in from behind, tap it from in front, or otherwise dislodge the staples. I suspect also that the stapler has bent inside by a frustrated former owner. In any case, consider an alternative model by Swingline or another brand before buying this one, in which case you're asking for trouble.

When I had this problem recently I pushed the little lever down in the back like I was going to load staples normally while at the same time pushing the stapler down all the way like I was stapling something. It came loose after that, It seemed like the little plunger that pushes the staples with the spring on it got under the staples so they wouldn't allow the plunger to be removed. Anyway this worked for me I hope it works for you.

    How to load it?

On the back of the stapler at the base of the arm theres is a black knob or fitting. This fitting is connected to an arm and spring that holds the staples in. Push that in or down and it will release a catch, then you can slide it out. Now you should be able to load the staples in where you just pulled the black knob out of. Now reinstall the black knob with the spring on it and it should work fine.
