If it isn’t obvious from the comments, there is demand for a “Tutorial 2” on this, delving into process and best practices for importing our own tapes.
There’s surprisingly none of that on RUclips.

I finally heard back from Arturia tech support about incorporating their Mellotron download into one of their keyboard instruments (at least two weeks after my request), and this is part of what they said:
This is not a compatibility issue, these are 2 different worlds. Mellotron V can be cut into pieces to collect the samples on which it is build and integrate them in MicroFreak. It is a possible move, but a rather complicated one. But Mellotron V was originally designed to be used as an instrument on its own.
So the issue wasn't one of overcomplicated tech, it was one of flim-flammery. Marketing software downloads on their site with the implication that they are compatible with their hardware. If you are a layman, an ordinary, real-world based musician, or anything other than a computer tech, these virtual keyboards will likely prove useless.
Love this instrument. Just a quick question if you don’t mind how do you create the samples to import. Are they wave files? I am also wondering how come you’re can not transpose any of the standard presets in Mellotron. Thanks again for the great demo

is it possible to exoand the sound range on 4 octaves or more? with samples you can, but can you also do it with presets?

Hi, you won't be able to create chord progression directly within Mellotron V, but you can do it in your DAW or with external sequencers.

Are there any mellotron presets in analog lab?
3 or 4 by default I think. In the basic non-trial version.

Is there any possible way to eliminate the annoying pop/click when a note is released. I get that it's probably part of the instrument's character, but it'd be nice to be able to have the option to clean that up. The release knob does nothing unless you're playing other notes while something is held down.
