Speed Limit 140 BPM peeps are a community! We had a nostalgia for the future. Imaginations running wild. At this time, my best friend and I were only about 15. We experimented with LSD, and Mushrooms. We smoked a lot of trees, practiced our graffiti, and danced at every get down we learned of. My friend always had a big sound system in his car. No one who got in the ride ever knew about the shit we were playing. A world all our own. Days of grace.
same here, had this cassette witch got me into Techno/Trance/Jungle I was also 14 years old, after this, I started listening to Frankie Bones, then later on DJ Micro
The golden age of jungle. Me and my old band mates who used to be in a ska punk band used to play this constantly when we would hang out. Needless to say 3 out of 6 people in the band went on to successful electronic music en-devours. Talk about an influential album. Thanks for posting - my CD copy is dog shit after 24 years of abuse. lol
@@Bus_Bee Lucky u!!! Goldie, iz Mos Def an nspiration 2 me, from all da way across da pond! His art, helped me 2 survive walkin around Los Angeles. ( His dedication track KEMISTRY, 4 xample, on da 1st Moonshine Recordz compilation. ) I later got 2 of his albumz & I LOVE da 1st full length album! ( TIMELESS ) Itz a classic banger. My GF, @ da time, ( Who iz an R&B head. ) had 2 put up wit lotzo Goldie & LTJ Bukem. LOVE Y'ALL JUNGLIST, MAN!!!
An absolute CLASSIC!!! Moonshine was really ahead of the time when they released as a continuous mix. After this was some DJ Hype mixes, and they had the JDJ (Journey by DJ). The tracks on this tape are ALL amazing. Thanks for the post!!!!!
Used to listen to this, went to so many raves.. every Saturday at Bedlam in Pensacola Fl.....my absolute favorite was held in New Orleans ....anyone remember Zulu, at the State Palace Theater on Canal Street...went to everyone Zulu 2 through Zulu 8....those were good days...Aquafunk, was a classic got to watch AK1200 battle Dj Dara.... the world was a different place back then....had so many mix Cd's, from moonshine music...jungle, dnb, garage speed....that's the stuff that gave birth to an entire global culture....who ever uploaded this, is awsome
Yes, I do remember and was from Ft Walton. I put on the parties in Ft. Walton. We used to drive over and party with the Dream folks and Liquid Lounge and Bedlams back when Jonathan Wells was the resident there. Stare Palace Theater (Free Bass Society) Disco Donnie put on some massive events. It was a different time indeed. Even though 94-2000 was the later years after the so called glory days of Rave 88-93, we did gave a blast. The tabs were still real and you could trust people
This is where the magic begins for the spirit inside of us to soar. Great stuff one of my first CD's I ever bought. I still have this one as well as the other Speed Limit 140 BPM CD'S Moonshine Records came out with back in the day. Thanks you for putting this out. Big up's ;)
Was there in the way back, listening to this in our lowered, bass infused rides in early '90s... here today cuz my 13 yr old showed my Sewerslvt, and it is reminiscent of some 140 BPM shit, as well as other ambient/ chill artists from back then. Happy to be here in the future we were all thinking bout then!
Bought this on cassette when it came out. At the time I had a proper sound system in my car. I destroyed so many bass subs, bandpasses, “Bazookas” lol nothing could handle the absolutely brutal bass of this masterpiece of a mix. Props for posting this. Brings back sooooooo many memories!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Starting this CD with The Rood Project's "Thunder" was genius. I was a hip-hop kid driving a lowered Mazda P/U with 4-12s blowing this out....it took me weeks to get all the way through the CD....almost 30 years later I still bump Rood Project with gray hair on my face in a suit on the way to work some days :)
it's 230am in the morning and this series of the speed limit popped up in my thoughts. I figured I'd search for it and "I FOUND IT." I started collecting this series after buying the 1st CD in 1993 if I remember correctly and was hooked on the collection. Too bad I'm 42 now and have moved around so much and lost a great many of collection USA and imported CDs in journey this far in life. Oh how great this series is. THANKS FOR POSTING.
A good friend of mine Commandeered this Cassette not too long after I bought it Almost 30 yrs ago...we both collected music but I laugh when he swears he " acquired this one cassette " somewhere else...Its all good . I got bragging rights because my collection is way more extensive than his till this day. My Brother from another Mother
I do or did have this CD. I have albums 1-8 on my phone and on 1of my computers in MP3 format. It's been so long since I have herd this album, I forgot how much I like it. I should be a shamed. I loved listening to #2 back in the late 90' and not knew it a Speed Limit album, it was given to me on an unmarked cassette by a class mate and thought he put a group of songs together. Still listen to it today.
Yes and yes. By far a must have in any collection. Every track I hunted down for my own vinyl library. Programming is spot on! This and the Jungle Warfare 2X CD with Mickey Finn.
Man, I wore this comp out when I was young. Been a Jungle head and producer ever since. I owe this record so much. I like all the Speed Limit 140+ CDs but this was my favorite.
I've been listening to the H2BH mixes for the past couple of days and this is a great change up. I didn't listen to these religiously, does anyone have some stand out moments, not just from this disc but from the whole series?? THANKS in advance!!!

You're basically telling my same story.

If you ever want to part with it, I'll buy it from you! Of course I know you will want to keep it! It's a timeless keepsake!
Moonshine Records and Metalheadz were WAY....ahead of their time! Their producers, Dj's, and artists have timeless music additions! Amazing tunes!
Agreed. Goldies Saint Angel track blew my mind and changed my life for the better. I got to meet him in 2019. One of a kind pioneer.

Moonshine happened at the right time for alot of us.
This mix still delivers after a quarter century. Burning!

One of my favorite albums. Soundtrack to some of the most memorable times.

We sure would've clicked back then! I don't know about you, but back then, I never bumped into anyone who knew about this. My own private soundscape.

We shouldn't have to run one entire video for 99% of all music from the 1990s. In the meantime, I'll use my adblocker on this great album.
