This was one of the first rides I took on my first day in England in 2002. I was really surprised by this ride. I am glad it has found a new home. Thanks for uploading.
I worked a night shift at The Trocadero around the date of this video, from 12 midnight to 6am - I worked for a company called "Counting Solutions", and we installed sensors on all the escalators in the Troc, which count how many visitors it has going in and out at any one time (foot fall counting). I remember being there when this ride was first installed and was being commissioned - it has now - apparently, been removed.
It's all been removed. It's dead. It's now being turned into a budget hotel. For the past few years it's just been a dodgy hallway with wires sticking out and arcade machines that are broken, but still take your money.
***** Imagine our horror when my girlfriend and I came after seeing pictures on the website of bumper cars, lights, arcades, bowling etc. and remembering SegaWorld (which neither of us got to go to) only to arrive to a construction site, going to an abandoned corridor with tiles and cables lying around, and a few arcade machines where both the ones we tried were broken. It mocks us.
@@imansfield Now that you know that, I need to find out when Kijima Kogen in Japan opened their Giant Drop known as Newton as there is no mention of a late 90s date anywhere and trying to look up the park from those years results in absolutely nothing.
This drop must be one of the most forcefull as I've been on it at Hayling Island & it drops so quickly, I bet it was more scary when it was at the Troc
The braking on the current ride @ Hayling Island is quite harsh as they removed the top car but haven't adjusted the brakes fin's. Was definitely better when it was in the Trocadero Center

Oscy Thank you for that reply - I had no idea. Then again, I don't care too much - I think London is an over-hyped dump, on the whole. :)
