Scunthorpe United 3-0 Kings Lynn Town

Top of the table clash - near enough anyway, Third placed Kings Lynn Town visiting us, as we’re sat fourth in the league. A game played on New Years Eve, which is a regular working day. Didn’t stop the fans turning up though as over 4000 were in attendance. Slightly up on previous attendances too. Guessing the majority would have enjoyed the game and result.
First half we were on it, from the off. Passing the ball well, quick tempo, movement on corners, coping the better of the two teams with the wind and sand. So meant we ended the half 3-0 up and we had a disallowed goal too. Penalty shout for Lynn too? Lakeland thought so.
Anyway back to the sand, quite a lot on the pitch. Which is great if you’re playing beach football 🤦🏻 Didn’t do Barrows any favours,’as he seemed to get his foot caught in the sand and end up being taken off in a stretcher. Hopefully nothing serious, though it didn’t look great.
Second half we managed the game well, which is easy to do when 3 up. Kings Lynn had to try and get through us to get anything from the game. Other than hitting the post and a save from Fitzsimons they didn’t offer a great deal. Definitely didnt give a good account of themselves. Where as, each and every Scunthorpe player did. Great work ethic and play from everyone of them. No boos, no jeers, just a warmth knowing we sit top of the league again, even if its only till 5pm New Years Day!!
See Butler knows what hes doing all along, who doesnt love a clean sheet 😉
