EP 8 Mangalore to Udupi journey | Coastal Karnataka Tour

- This is 8th episode of our 17 day Coastal Karnataka tour, we started from Mangalore and moved towards Gokarna and then towards Yellapur.
Details of places visited in this video are given below.
Janatha hotel: This is a nice breakfast point in Mangalore
Sasihitlu Beach -
Mangalore hotel - We stayed at Fab metro plaza hotel near Mangalore central railway station
Next day ie on 30th november we moved to Udupi.
On our way we halted at a beach near Padubidri beach - This beach has recently got blue flag recognition. Padubidri beach is at a distance of 32 km from Mangalore. We could not go to Padubidri beach as some renovation work was going on there.
Kapup beach - This is really a nice beach on the way to Udupi from Mangalore. Main attraction of this beach is the lighthouse, you can go to the top of the lighthouse in the evening at 4.30 pm.
Mattu Gulla - There is a GI tag for this product, we went to the village where Mattu Gulla is grown, it is at a distance of 5 km from Kaup beach.
Thimappa restaurant - Udupi - This is famous for fish fry, we had our dinner at this restaurant.
Night stay at Udupi - We stayed at a homestay in Manipal university, this is at a distance of 10 km from Udupi town.

One really good thing in and around Mangaluru is cleanliness ..how clean and beautiful the beach is
Good Observation....Looks like People generally don't litter there , May be few exceptions like Public Bustop like wise...Check Udupi Railway station in images looks clean...Need to visit sometime...
I think one of the reason for cleanliness is people here treat sea as sacred.
We Indians should discover India first rather than foreign holidays

We should stop wasting time and precious foreign currency by going abroad for holidays. We have such a huge and diverse country with such yummy cuisines. What I like most down south is the art of simplicity in every sphere of life , kaash rest of the country adopts such lifestyle
this is only in south canara region.. such ambience cant be found in other parts of karnataka, kerala, tn and a.p.... Mangalore, udupi, karwar .. these places and the people over there are very delightful
@@adithyarao4138 Though coastal Karnataka is beautiful, the rest of Karnataka and India is beautiful its own way. Kerala also has a beautiful coast line. Chikmagalur, Coorg and Agumbe are also beautiful hill stations

Sir, thanks for making video of my hometown Mangaluru and showing all important places.. As you have rightly mentioned, we Mangaloreans eat boiled rice. Now I am settled in Mumbai since 1995 an we have continued this tradition of having boiled rice for lunch and dinner.

Udupi Mlore has more than enough Mahabharath, Ramayan era historical Places which is rarely known by other Indians.. Udupi has multiple temples built by own hands of Pandavas...❤️

@@sarojinichaudhury179 yes udupi and mangalore (dakshina kannada)has many ancient temples ,many of them built by rishi munis and sages; temples built by narada maharshi ,athri maharshi ,durvasa muni,parashurama installed idols ,udhbava murtis ,thousands of years old temples with its own unique architectures can be seen here.Even a very small temple year dates back to hundreds and thousands of year and has its own history.Parashurama sristi is blessed with ancient temples and its own history and legacy

I subscribed to your channel only after the Karnataka series. Never knew Karnataka had such incredible scenic places. Just loved it.
Fun fact : The water coming from cow mouth at 6:35 has not stopped from time when temple is built . Its has been continuously flowing from ages . Its believed the water comes from kashi .

I have enjoyed staying in Udupi and have many times visited coastal Karnataka. Excellent experience.
Manglore beach ,Manjunath temple, church are nice. Big brinjal is interesting. Keep it up.

24:36 The swad difference is because of the salinity of water. Low salinity bred Pomfrets taste good. Same way Malwan pomfret taste better then Goan fish.

Stuck in Bangalore due to lockdown. I literally am salivating looking at the food. The temple was amazing too.
Without doubt Thimappa hotel is among the best for Mangalore coastal fish curry and fried fish. I have been going here for years. Cant wait to go again. One visit and it will make you a fan of the taste.
