The card shuriken, since the bevel is one sided and also the way you where positioned you have to throw the actual playing card facing yourself, if you want it to go a bit to the right and get that edge to stick otherwise it will just bounce. That’s my opinion hope to get some feedback on that one. Great vid like always 🤘🏼 It might take a few tries on such dense wood. Thanks Patrick! I’ve never really thought of using caltrops as a throwing weapon, but that’s a very intriguing thought. The small ones probably wouldn’t be heavy enough, but the larger ones would probably do some damage. Thanks for the idea…I love hearing stuff like that!
Cardboard works great! That’s primarily what I used when I started learning them. I’d just add extra cardboard to the ground around it incase the star hits the ground.
The dragons rage would be more successful if the wings where cut out larger so you could make it a 10 point star slash blade kinda sheraded it instead of a blade distract that is just my opinion when you are on your CNC machine more meat on wings10 point sharpin between each spike
I remember back in the early 80s, probably '82 or '83, my best friend and I were into the Chinese weapons just for fun. There was a store in Hamilton Ohio that we used to go to once in awhile when we'd go down to visit his grandmother and we'd bought some Nunchaku's there. Later we each got a few throwing stars to mess with. He wanted the cheaper stars that were basically stamped steel with the sharpened points, like 6 or 7 points and I wanted a couple of the heavier 4 and then about a 7 pointer with nicely sharpened points. They had a huge white barn that we'd throw them at and practice. The heavy 4 point star took some practice to get consistent with but they were a lot of fun. Surprisingly those stamped steel stars actually were pretty easy to stick and stuck pretty well even though they were light weight. You just need to get a variety and practice with them and a little time will tell what their strong points are and their weaknesses.

Thanks Alex! I completely agree. Sadly, some States have laws restricting them. Maybe the laws in California will change one day. Thanks so much for watching!
@@Karatemart Here's the thing about that...CA does have laws restricting them, along with nunchaku and balisongs. However, there ARE companies that will send them to California, which always makes me question why they are allowed to and other companies are not. Are those companies just ignoring the laws or is their disclaimer about it being the customer's responsibility to comply with local laws enough to circumvent those restrictions?
That is an excellent point Alex. Each Country, State and many municipalities have laws regarding what can be sold there, what can be owned, and what can be carried outside the home. These laws change all the time so it’s difficult to keep up with them, but we try our hardest. Some companies disregard these laws. Great question!
Shurikens is very impressive have you ever looked at Naruto a Batman cuz I've been wanted to try those out for almost years and I always did want to know what it was like to pro a shurikens can actually pretty cool looking and you think about making a shuriken launcher you know like a true that can help you shoot about the shurikens so like a gun but different make Windows launchers for the shurikens they could come in handy let me know what you think hope you like the comment 🥋🙂✌️
This wood is very hard and does not penetrate shurikens and throwing knives, I'm Brazilian and I've been throwing since I was 10 and these woods are difficult to penetrate but if it's in real life with a human being on my arm or neck they penetrate more throwing knife can stay or not if you throw it 10 meters away from the tip of the knife it is easier now from the front 2 meters it is through the handle or tip that you catch n throwing the difference is shuriken you can throw 3 at once and get them all right and not the throwing knife
If you got someone in the eye with that I'm pretty sure you would Mame them. Couldn't imagine one killing someone but maybe if the victim was very unlucky. I get the point of what you're saying though. Create some pain to distract the enemy and then move in for the kill. That sounds like the only realistic application for them to be honest.
Hi Mikey! I hope you are having an excellent weekend. With all the other weapon choices out there, I don’t think many people actually think about using shuriken as a legitimate weapon nowadays. Most people just enjoy learning how to throw them. Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
Hi Marna! You’re right, throwing stars are illegal in many areas. There are other throwing weapons like knives, spikes and axes, but you’d have to check your local laws on those as well. Thanks so much for watching!
I am ASSUMING, like with SINGLE BEVEL ARROW HEADS, the SINGLE BEVEL actually twists as they go in, causing a bigger wound channel that won't close as easily. Makes more of an S shape wound rather than a straight cut

Do a made I Japan special or Japanese weapons
I love that idea! Japanese weapons are so awesome and I bet I could make a really cool video with them. Thank you so much for the suggestion and for your support!
Can you please show some old indian tiger claws aka "Bagh Nakh"
I really love those, but we don’t currently have any in stock to review. Hopefully we will at some point. Thanks so much for watching!
@@Karatemart thanks
um... ALL of the throwing stars. Do you have the folding one? I used to have that in the 80's. ps. That round one at 12:00 would have taken a huge piece of flesh off your opponent. Is that a fail?????
We’ve sold the folding one from time-to-time. It’s kind of cool. Thanks so much for watching!
Yea gambit reference.
I couldn’t help myself! Gambit is one of my favorites...especially in the 90s cartoon.
These are great...too bad you won't send them to CA.
I have a set of throwing knives . The blade is beveled on both sides. The shape of the blade is a long arrowhead
Interesting...I bet those throw pretty nicely.
Thanks so much for watching, Derrick! I hope you have an excellent weekend!
Thanks so much for watching!
i have a whole bunch of shuriken ,but are illegal in Canada so mine is all wall hangers , they were made by Shinobi profesional
Thanks so much for watching!
Those cards would still mess up your day.🥂🍻
Absolutely, they would!! Since making this video, I’ve found that some throwing cards are easier to throw than others. Have a great weekend!
The first 2 ninja stars--since I realize that in Japanese, "hira" means "star", and hence they are called "hira shuriken".
Thanks so much for watching, Charles! I really appreciate it!
"If you can stick it into this, you can stick it into anything" Playing hard to get level 1000.
Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it!
Let me have the wingchun dummy for free hahaha 😅
Lol…no way buddy! I need it for my videos! Thanks so much for watching!
No half moon?
I don’t think I showed any on this video, but I should have. I love half-moon stars! Thanks so much for watching!
Ninja ninja stars are illegal wherei i live do know of any other good ninja throwing weapons?
Hi Marna! You’re right, throwing stars are illegal in many areas. There are other throwing weapons like knives, spikes and axes, but you’d have to check your local laws on those as well. Thanks so much for watching!
du bewegst sich wie ein Top Models,,, du kannst Catwalk mit Naomi Campel laufen
Thank you! I’ll take that as a compliment!

How about throwing knives to try out.
Great question! I have a bunch of videos on the KarateMart RUclips channel that show how to throw knives. Thanks so much for watching!

Saludo de puerto rico
Hi Antonio! Thanks so much for watching!
I am ASSUMING, like with SINGLE BEVEL ARROW HEADS, the SINGLE BEVEL actually twists as they go in, causing a bigger wound channel that won't close as easily. Makes more of an S shape wound rather than a straight cut
What an awesome comment! It’s funny, I’ve never even considered that before, but you are absolutely right. Thank you!
@@Karatemart Hey Maybe you could answer a Quick Question, Why did they OUTLAW JAPANESE ORIGINAL KATANA'S from being SOLD in AMERICA?
@@TyrantExterminator1776 that’s a great question. I’m not sure of the exact answer, but I know there are strict laws in Japan about ordinary citizens owning swords, so I have a feeling it has something to do with that.
@@Karatemart Thanks for Responding back. That Sucks I would love to own a REAL KATANA.
