Saltwater season is upon us! For many, these late winter-early spring months serve as a great time to escape the cold and head somewhere warmer. Over the next couple of months, we'll be releasing special SALTY editions of Five Flies covering a variety of popular flats species including, Redfish, Permit, Bonefish, and Tarpon. For this special edition, we welcome back an encyclopedia of saltwater fly fishing expertise - the one and only Alec Gerbec of Umpqua Feather Merchants. Not only did Alec spend five years with the Alphonse Fishing Company as the Head Guide, but he has also dedicated the large majority of his free time to chasing saltwater fish on the fly. As the proud designer of one of our choices for Permit, it was a no brainer to have Alec join Ivan and drop some knowledge.
