Yes it does actually. Fire indeed can burn underwater if it's hot enough. It's safe to assume the fireballs are at that temperature.

I went to a video game arcade and found this game, but there was only one controller and I accidentally put two player mode on so the game was stuck with Luigi because the controller was set to Mario.

The points actually do mean something
When you get to an amount of points you get a 1UP and it still does it when you already got a 1UP from points
VS, Super Mario Bros removed the 2 blocks needed for the warp zone glitch, to prevent it, or to allow people to change their mind on entering the warp zone area...
On 3-1 at the very end you can jump on the second turtle over and over and get a bunch of points and get so many lives that it starts making weird symbols. That was the only way I made it far in the game was with all those extra lives.
