From the GFD: The Greenwich Fire Department is a combination paid/volunteer fire department, comprised of a paid force staffing six Engine Companies and one Truck Company, Deputy Chiefs (shift commanders), cross-staffed one Rescue Company, and a volunteer force comprised of eight volunteer fire companies. Each volunteer fire company maintains its own fire apparatus.
