My front cvd stripped also. I put metal axles and suspension arms from a granite grom to make it wider. Put a 4500 kv motor with small pinion. I love it.
All i did was up the pinion gear and left it brushed.. been pretty good how it is.. but I'm sure I'll go brushless once something fails.. but like I've said before.. some of these brushed rcs ... are underrated and when you're deep in the hobby and have had all the faster stuff that's when you really start to notice. 😎🤘🏽
I have even said it in my vids the truck is great out of the box and like you I might gear up a little bit and add a fan I already had all the parts before I had the rc lol I was really shocked how well it did. I will probably end up putting the factory motor in it but a better esc and save the parts I used for something else
I have had failed front CVD on the front of both the Typhon Grom and Granite Grom. I have two Mojave Groms in the box that I am just going to wait for the upgraded CVDs to come before I even run them. I have done warranty on the diffs for my other Groms, but did not attempt to on the CVDs - but they fell out way too easily.
Your another one with the issue another subscriber told me that's the one thing he has not broken. I think a bad batch was made because it did pop out way to easily there is no way it should have gotten out around that spring. Sucksnit happened but so far the cvd has been holding up and that's on 3s brushless lol
This is pretty interesting. I have yet to have this failure. I have 3 Grom's. I have been through 4 diffs. All the plastic gears strip. The new version diffs have the metal spider gears which helps, but the sun gears are still plastic and strip. I bought the GPM metal gears and we will see how that goes. I did also break one of the plastic out drive cups that attached with a screw to the diff. I can't find the all metal Arrma upgraded diff anywhere 🤔
I saw one channel had the same issue and his was stock and it happened again lol. Maybe there was a handful of bad ones that got out. Arrma is bad about having stuff in stock and you have so many people either just want the better parts or are going brushless and want to make sure it can handle it. I wish they would make sure they had parts but thats not how they do it the Promoto was damn near impossible to get anything for a while. Wow you killed 4 diffs thats amazing because yours is stock I cant believe they are that weak.
@@GreatLakesRC to be honest I got a spare knockoff "v2" version on eBay for 16 bucks, all metal supposedly, I thought since it was so cheap might as well give it a shot first and see how it goes. I have the powerhobby on the side for just in case. The eBay version looks promising to me we shall see
Great video in the ongoing saga of Grom!
Thanks!
I run 2s on my 3100kv 2845 motor runs about 30-32 mph and Ice cold with a rocket fan and stock heatsink on motor
What an awesome little truck bro!!
It is I like the larger stuff normally, but this is fun
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife I know, right?

Also, ARA330838 show as the replacement shocks (non upgrade) for the Mojave Grom, which lists as coming with 800CST oil.

@@L2theWcarscoffeelife Mine are all stock aside from the (now) upgraded CVDs and upgraded fans, and some minimal backyard bashing.
@jrmbtr good info thanks

Powerhobby makes a diff, looks exactly like arrmas, they're about 40 bucks
@@birdistheword1327 Have you used one? Are they any good, do they have all metal gears?

@@GreatLakesRC yes they have all metal gears, I just now realized I didn't answer your question lol
My front cvd stripped out with stock motor and 21 tooth pinion..
