Now I want to talk about the communication part.
You are correct that its important to communicate but sometimes its very difficult.
Especially when you do not have someone that will listen to you without judging you.
I have 1 sister and 1 brother. I am the oldest, my brother is the one in the middle and my sister is the baby. I have never been close to them but I can talk to my little sister even though I was 15yrs old when she was born. But at the same time I can not talk to her about anything and everything. I have come to terms that this is how it is and so I do not let it bother me anymore.
I always say "just because you are family does not mean I need to like you or accept you".
If I could pick my family members believe me there are A LOT OF THEM I WOULD NOT PICK.
I live by that and it has made me move on.
Like you said "it is what it is".
Life is too short to be angry, upset or miserable. I learned to make the best of whatever situation may come.
I try to turn a negative into a positive and when that does not work I move on..
Thank you so much for sharing your life.
Shared this video on facebook😊
It's unfortunate that many of us learn this the hard way or learn it from the type of relationship we have with siblings. But I am glad you have the right mindset on it and you are always free and welcome to speak openly here 🥰💞
Thank you very much for saying that..
Its great what you are doing.
Hope this helps a lot of people.
❤❤❤😊😊😊❤❤❤
❤❤❤🎉big hugs to you, too
😊❤🎉Thanks for sharing your story Lys🎉.
Absolutely!!!
❤❤❤😊😊😊
I know in my marriage, my abusive ex would be totally ok speaking evil, but everything I said had to be perfectly positive or else. Good stuff. Be well.
I know that feeling 💗💗
I'm glad you are able to say ex though because it means you are away from that now 🥰💞
@@lys_is_me I am very happy now. I am glad that you too have gotten away from abuse. I hope you and your family are doing well. Keep it up!
Great Content, Fascinating ✅💯👍
Thank you ☺️💞
Great food for thought lys I communicate through my music and I hope it helps people with out words best wishes Phil ❤️
I think it does, I very much enjoy your music ☺️💕
@@lys_is_me your very kind lys thanks ❤️
👍 Great video and information my friend ❤❤❤ full watch ❤
Thank you, I want to use my experience to help others going through the same thing ☺️💞
Communication is so important in all relationships. The one thing that could bring the problems to light. Or to embrace all emotions. Great video communication is definitely not talked about enough.
Thank you 😊💞
I know you said you are more from the therapist perspective, but I hope you still see value in what I have to share
@@lys_is_me Anything that people can do to make mental health more mainstream is a awesome thing. You keep doing what your doing it's great to see that your putting your vulnerable side out to help people. Your coping skills is baking being in the kitchen that's awesome you found what works for you.
😊Communication is KEY, it took me a long time to be able to talk to the camera for one thing, communicating with other people I sure try and I speak very honest, when I say your videos are great I mean it🙂 the other day I told a friend that her videos were not great as she has to put a bit more effort in to them, About using better titles and staying to the point in titles. Us that are aiming for monetization have to please the algorithm, keep changing and getting better. I speak to people that wont listen, as I´m quite isolated I guess like many youtubers editing videos all day and most nights 😂 Making a difference is the point, I just want to motivate and make people SMILE, is I could monetize SMILES i´d have reached my goal a long time ago. Great video again and thanks for sharing. See you next week, keep SMILING and inspiring 😊🙂
Thank you so much ☺
Yes posting on youtube is similar to speaking to someone who doesn't want to listen to you. You need to keep it simple and easy to hear and don't waste your words.
Get there faster is what I say to my kids.
I am still a long way from getting monetised but it's not my focus. Getting better at sharing what I have to share and helping whoever I can help. That's important to me. Monetisation would just mean I can afford to upgrade my camera and microphone faster ☺
@@lys_is_me 😁Exactly, simple and Upgrade Camera and Microphone🙂 We are like Artists all using different canvass, brushes and paint. I hope they will buy my Paintings😂 Have a Super Day.
Hello.
Hello 🤗💞
Your a good communicator Lys ive always struggled a little bit but think as you get older you tend to lose your inabitions and dont mind a little chat enjoyed your video lys
Thank you 😊💞
I think that's true too, we learn to relax a little about what we say as we age.
I think I might have inherited the ability from my nan and pop to be honest
Your fluency tells you have good communication skills :))
Thank you, I've been told I can talk underwater too lol
@@lys_is_me sounds perfect :)
Keep it up.
great content. thank you for sharing🎉🙏
Well said.
No communication, no relationship.
Positive communication, positive relationship. Thanks for sharing.
You got my sub.
Thank you so much ☺️💞
just wanted to say your thumbnail for this video is really great! The colors and composition etc are really well done imho. I liked the intro hook in the video, too!
I read your about section too, and I dig what you're going for as a channel. I think talking about this kind of thing is pretty important, and hopefully ends up helping people who need it. Mixing food/cooking/baking in with mental health makes sense too.
I grew up with a lot of abuse, and it's pretty easy to just internalize and repress it, but talking about stuff and getting it out there can be pretty cathartic. Putting past trauma and pain into actual words can make it a bit more tangible, and then a bit more possible to grapple with it, and (hopefully) come to terms with it. Just my personal opinion though.
With regards to this kind of video though (and feel free to take all of this with a few grains of salt, as I'm pretty small myself), one thing I think you could maybe do is have minor annotations throughout your video for important topics or key points, maybe. I've seen that a lot on bigger youtuber's stuff (I think the one we both commented on is a good example of it), and it can be pretty effective in not only holding peoples' attention, but also reinforcing your point(s) with clarity. If done sparingly it might not break up the calmer flow/vibe you have, maybe even if it's only bullet points occasionally.
You could also try adding end cards at the end of your video; I've seen that have an effect sometimes where people will either subscribe that way or click through to a recommend video of yours afterwards.
Just random thoughts I had while watching. Great video, and keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with me ☺️
I'm so glad you were able to take something from this video and I agree, getting the words out can help to start the healing process.
As for all the extra stuff, I am not really trying to do what everyone else does, instead I am posting the value that I myself needed but couldn't find when I was in my early stage of recovery. Back then RUclips was all about the money to so many people and the few who spoke about this topic were trying to sell while I'm not. I want to help and support the people who are struggling to find it elsewhere because I know what it's like to call Lifeline or other help services and be sent somewhere else. I know what it's like to have my doctor or therapist ask if I'm pregnant as an explanation for how I'm coping with my trauma.
I hope you continue to check out some of my other videos too and continue with us on this journey.
The whole point of support and compassion herre ☺️🥰💞
@@lys_is_me I think it's a good idea, and will probably end up helping people. Even just being heard and validated by stuff like responding to a viewer via callouts etc. would probably help a lot. Shows them they're not alone in a sense.
Building a community for support and help/information is a great goal imho.
Sorry I tend to ramble, I hope you have a nice day.
Rambling inst a bad thing ☺
It means you have the confidence to put your voice out there and when it comes to youtube that will be of benefit to you
Nice thoughts and inspiring

Thanks for being supportive, l just subscribed.
Thank you so much 🥰💗
Hi Lys! 👋 This is my second time watching this video from start to finish --and replaying my favorite parts hehe
I've got to say I totally love your baking videos, and the same time I'm so moved by these philosophical-style talks and dialogues you open for us, like this series. Loved the intro btw "I do baking, I do talking, I do walking" so simple and brilliant.
ahhh... communication! let's just say I'm so obsessed with it I decided to actually go to school for it. Even when teachers were telling me that I had a much brighter future doing something else: communication is what I love, and am deeply passionate about. Just the though of what motivates humans to communicate with each other, as much as the person with itself: the ultimate battle, right? Thank you so much for opening these spaces, you really made me reflect about my grown up relationships with my siblings as well, and how it was evolved since we grew up. Keep glowing bright Lys! 🌟 You're doing amazing. Sending lots of light and love your way 💕✨
Thank you, I'm glad you were able to take away from this video, and I do have more in this series planned. I know how hard it is for some people to get the talking started but I also know how important it is in many areas of life, especially the recovery process.
So I'm hoping this video and this check in series can help those who need it to find the strength and encouragement they need 💞
#Communication the key to all relationship #MentalHealthMatters. Thank you for such positivity, and wholesome advise.
