Worst feeling ever is at the end of a race when you have 400m to go and everyone's yelling, encouraging you to run harder and you have no choice but to pretend like you aren't about to collapse while you pick up the pace
It’s definitely miserable, but when you run track for 800m and everyone starts cheering for you to sprint it feels terrible, like what do you think I’ve been doing for the last 700 meters? It’s hilarious how so many people think that 800 or 400 is easy and it feels so fricking bad to run cross country, but you can hopefully turn your brain off after the first two miles if you don’t have a cramp and you can kinda just ignore the pain. Two different sports, but both of them get real miserable at the end.
That's the best part, draining the last of your reserves before you finish and then feeling the rush of satisfaction from finishing and then you go home and have the fattest nap

xc is 100% on of the hardest sports. youre constantly being yelled at to go faster when youre going as fast as youre capable of going. coaches, teammates, parents, family all yelling at once its overwhelming and dont even get me started on what its done to my mental, physical, and emotional health. i dont love it but i would never wanna go back and change it. its taught me how to be strong, bold, and brave.

Cross Country meets are like hell, whenever it's the last 200 meters or so, you push yourself so hard you either pass out or throw up. The experience is pretty damn fun tbh. When I did it in Junior High, we always ran the 2 mile, but in High School right now, we always do 3 miles in less than 20 minutes, and that's light work.

If you don't know what to do, I want you to get on your knees, and pray this prayer with your heart: Jesus, I believe you died on the cross for my sins, and was ressurected on the third day. I believe you came to the Earth, to pay for our sins. Thank you for dieing on the cross for my sins, in Your Name, I pray, amen. I don't know who is reading this, but if you ever fill an empty whole, which cannot be fulfilled, the only way to fulfill is by Jesus. Fr I am a cross country runner and it is one of the most underrated sports. It takes a different level of hard work and you actually have to commit. It’s amazing.
I was in cross country for 4 years. It’s as hard as you make it. Here in Hawaii it was common to see people getting heatstrokes and fainting while running. Or running in circles like a headless chicken. My friend suffered from heatstroke and his iron was messed up for over a year.
I love all of this. I remember doing something we called mud, sweat, and cheers and it was pretty funny to watch JVs race because they didn’t give a crap unlike the varsity team. JV was doing flips and crap and I had a high intensity screaming at the mud puddles. Ended up winning but some guys turned completely brown by the end and others lost their entire spikes and socks

I've done cross country in 7th and 8th grade and I'm currently just starting training for high school cross country. Definitely the hardest sport, but we tend to have a tendency for a no quit attitude and our grit and persistence is crazy. What I like to say, "Our sport is your sport's punishment."

Cross country and long distance track is just suffering in sport form. I did it for 6 years in school and I have no idea why I did. There were fun days, but most days of practice were miserable and each race is miserable. I didn’t do too bad, but I never made regionals for anything, and getting 1st place in a race was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Having to fight just straight up giving up whilst running as fast as you can to get a good time is misery. Other sports I could see as actually being fun because you aren’t dying every single practice. Also after 8 years of being out of high school there weren’t many health benefits of doing long distance.
As a person in XC legit the sec I finished I fell and the assistants at the line barely held me up. Funny thing is during the race I never felt like just falling so the adrenaline 4 me is insane (I got 32 outta 250 so happy but shoulda got 20)
As a former high school cross country runner it is hard this sport pushes you and your body to the limits especially at the end when ur running to the finish line that adrenaline kicks in cause you don’t want the person behind u to finish before u and especially when u have to run in the high heats or the cold

MMA, wrestling, & kickboxing are harder, but XC is very hard. I’ve done all four at a high level and MMA is the hardest by a good margin.
