Riding a Mountain on an E-Board (1st Attempt)

- Ever wondered how off-road you can go with an electric skateboard? Can an electric mountainboard actually be used on a mountain? How much all terrain is too much terrain for an eskate or a personal electric vehicle? In this video JD takes his Apex Predator Electric Mountainboard up mount Snowdon in the UK to find out!
The mountain , Mt. Snowdon is the tallest mountain in Wales an one of 3 if the tallest in the British Isles. It is also not an obvious place to take an Electric Skateboard, or a skateboard of any description to be honest. To really test how much rough terrain the Apex Predator can handle JD does a solo ascent via the Rangers path. The objective is to ride as much of the mountain as possible without damaging the Lithium Ion Battery (12S6P) , the ESC (Xenith Stormcore) or breaking the gears (Apex Boards Jump Drives). The Apex Predator Electric Mountainboard is very robust but not indestructible so it's important not to bash too many rocks or drop off any steep gorges.
Get comfortable and watch JD tackle this mountain. In the edit we want you to feel as though you are there with JD , hearing the wind, the stones crunching underfoot and the relentless upward struggle. Filmed in the winter early in 2022 JD puts the prototype Jump Drives through their paces on this outing.

Yes JD !!! Awesome adventure vibe to the video and heaps easier on the ears without all the wind noise I’m super jealous of your solo visit. Mad props for biting off a very tough task, especially the rangers path as I know just how horrific that track is in places, go llanberris path and you’ll smash it. I assume as this is part 1 that another video is imminent !?! Stoked for you.

Stupid question would it be possible on a normal mountain board. I've been trying to practice scrubbing on my mountain board down the drive it's a lot harder than it looks lol. Nice video too 👍
Hey Ben , yeah scrubbing 🧽 a a dark art and requires significant commitment . I would say brakes would be needed on a run like this one .
With the best will in the world , the rocks are so hazardous I wouldn’t recommend scrubbing. Typically scrubbing is suited to predictable terrain : grass, loam, gravel , dust . Rocks present very unpredictable board responses . Now, big forest trials like Macclesfield forest , Lake District , South Downs etc .. game on 😁. One caveat is there is a video of some French guys riding the access roads at a ski resort and scrubbing (predictable terrain )

It’s a normal vans skate bag mate . Heavy straps with Velcro . It’s a good design but nothing special 👊
