@@jimcrabtree5205 hi, loved it, powerful, reliable, fast, decently equipped…however, the road tax was extortionate (maximum - same as a V12 Lamborghini) and the fuel economy was shocking. Then when I noticed small knocking noises (front arms, mega expensive and have to import from USA), I decided it was time to part ex it for a Mazda 6 which is another great car. Good luck with yours, can’t be many left on the roads now.
Sou simplesmente apaixonado por esse carro! Para mim, o Honda Legend KB1 é muito superior aos Audi/Bmw/Mercedes. Seu motor, seu interior e seu sistema de tração são formidáveis! Parabéns pelo vídeo!
I live in Canada, i AM dying to buy one. Should I get rid of my 2006 Saab 95 95 for a 2006 RL? The RL is lower K but needs some love. Let me know ASAP!!!
Chris Harris I would really do it. Canada has similar seasons as in Sweden, a well suited enviorment for a 4wd. Honda/Acura has the worlds best engines, so if the service history is well documented you should be safe, cosmetic stuff is easy to fix. I'd say, go for it! Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts! :)
I had a saab 95, and a legend, to me, there is no comparison, spec wise, the legend is way ahead. I had the Aero hot, and when booted from a standing start, the front end wanted to lift off of the ground, the legend is four wheel drive so no such problems.
Great review but I'm wondering is your car fully equipped or some options are missing? I saw somewhere there's road signs recognition, lane assist and auto opening and closing boot.
Emil Dimov This Legend has the executive advance package which was the fully equipped model in Europe. I think that the lkas system was an option on the right hand drive Legend (Japan and England). Haven't heard about the other things you mention. The advance package however has vented seats, active cruise control, cmbs and some other things over the regular executive. The RL is different. As the keyless entry, but doesn't have vented seats, snow mode or headlight washer. I guess prioritys for each market.
The car in this video appears to have the optional Advance Package, which upgraded the standard cruise control to ACC and also added CMBS. The top driver aid option was the Advance HI Package, which included those two features plus LKAS (Lane Keeping Assist System). That package was available as a option on Japan market models, and standard on UK market. The power boot/trunk lid was an optional extra for Japan market KB1 & KB2* Legend's, but apparently was never available on export models (* the final upgrade to the KB2 model was in 2011; and for that upgrade the power boot became a standard feature, along with new wheels with built-in Resonators, and the new 6-speed Auto). There is no such thing as what you refer to as road signs recognition, but I suggest it may have been confused with another Japan-only option called Night Vision, which warns of obstacles and pedestrians on the road ahead of the car. (Note: I have referred to the Japan market Honda Legend KB1. But after spending almost a year trying to find an ideal Honda Legend, I soon discovered it was very confusing when trying to ascertain standard and optional features which always differed considerably on cars that were being sold in various countries)
The keyless entry/exit and start was introduced as a standard feature in the 2006 upgrade of the Japanese market Honda Legend. However, it was not fitted to models that were exported for sale overseas. Same with several of the other standard features and options that were available on the Japan models. (Just to clarify: this car was rebranded as the Acura RL only for the USA and Canada markets, everywhere else in the world it is sold as the Honda Legend)
I have 2008 Honda Legend absolutely fantastic drive, this car has 4wd and love the acceleration. Transmission is smooth and silky.
Yes indeed. It's a great car!
Does the sh-awd system need regular servicing?
@ryanbarratt837 Yes - Differetial fluid needs to be maintained as prescribed
best car i ever own.
Facts so far the same for me
I love your thorough, straightforward style of review. Keep it up!
Great stuff. I’ve not long purchased a 2008 Legend and I love it.

@AhhMishMoneypenny 300 odd left in the UK now, I'm trading a Jag XJ in for the honda so I'm not averse to big maintenance bills
Very good video, thank you.
Idk why I never seen this video before!!!! 👏 good job.
I just picked one up last week. Amazing car .
Very nice vid guys.
One nice detail, I wanna add:
Folding, heated and "auto dimmed" mirrors. One of the best things on the Legend.
Very true, thanks for input! :)
My legend has 274000 kms still going strong
I had no idea they had Legends with steering wheels on the left. I thought it was only a Japan model.
For the EU market they did. A great car!
Totally overlooked in Europe because not German and without diesel engines
Got 2004 model its wicked and fast awesome car can not fault it

In the United States that car is called the Acura RL Same car just with a different badge and name
That was enjoyable to watch.
Thank you!

05 RL FTW
I am thinking about buying a 2004 Honda legend. I was wondering what are some of the common reliability problems?
jmluc90 This one has 255000km on the odometer. Still going like a new car
This particular model didn't arrive until 2006, my advice would be to look at a 2008/09.
Does it have AC in the back as well?
Yes
Just saw the Acura's in us have keyless entry and start.
Do u know if it's available in Europe?
Emil Dimov it's correct that the Acura RL comes with the keyless entry. The Honda Legend do not have it.
