Still her best song. I can name a few modern songs that can match this in terms of lyrics, production, and overall sound. There's something about the way she effortlessly tells a story with a few lyrics and some metaphors and similes. She really is the best songwriter to come out of the 2000s decade.

I'm afraid she'll never release them as singles. She really doesn't care about making hits nowadays. She just releases songs for the purpose of making a statement and I believe that Lover will be the last single. Like Delicate who received a lot of remixes, Lover is also receiving the same treatment.

Unpopular opinions about Lover:
1.)It’s an amazing album and one of the best albums from Taylor y’all just hate on it because you don’t like Taylor being happy
2.)Lover era should’ve lasted longer but quarantine happened and we got two immaculate albums instead
3.)Afterglow is one of the most underrated songs on Lover
Usually the majority only listen to songs that are made into singles. They judge the album from it. Lover, unfortunately has poor choice of singles. Same with Reputation.
If only it got the same treatment like 1989.
@@lykaroxas9858 I agree that the singles from Lover were a bit disappointing(Me! and You Need To Calm Down aren’t bad songs overall,there are just so many better songs in Lover),but I think with Reputation the correct songs were chosen,I only wish Getaway Car and Don’t Blane Me would’ve been singles because they deserved it more than Endgame(still love Endgame though, it’s overhated in the fandom)

Afterglow is my second all time favorite song of taylor. I don't think y'all realise how beautiful this song is. I absolutely love how raw and heart breakingly honest she is in this song which go SO SO well with the beautiful production with her vocals tying all of this together-making it one fabulous song. I can't find a single flaw in this song-the vocals, production, songwriting-EVERYTHING IS SO WELL DONE.
