I had that exact IT490 model back in the day, and rode it in the LD many times. Miss it yet don't if you know what I mean. Like riding a chainsaw. My hands would be numb for a day or two after a big ride. It was good in the sand tho with all that grunt. I progressed to a KTM 640 LC4, whole nother world of refinement by comparison. I've now got a humble old Dizzer and love it despite it's limitations.

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I haven't ridden the IT490 but I have ridden the Kawasaki KX500 and that thing would vibrate your fillings out. I've hears the KTM 640 was a vibration machine, so for you to think it was more refined might suggest the IT 490 could be the epicentre for an earthquake.

Hey mate, would love to know your prespective in protective gear and what you wear in enduro style of riding and what you wear in adventure riding to be comfortable enough but still protected. Cheers! Keep up the awesome work!

Sorry for the slow reply I somehow missed your comment. For adventure riding I wear and adventure jacket which has elbow, shoulder and back protection. The pants have knee protection. When I ride in the sand eg. the Little Desert Tour I wear enduro pants with knee braces underneath. When I ride pure hard enduro I wear motorcross gear with a full armour Leatt jacket under my jersey, and Pod knee braces.

Was it really necessary to show that stuff in the train station? And if it was, a chuckle and a “ wouldn’t get away with that nowadays” makes it look like it amuses you.

We can’t change history Lorraine, we were all amazed with what was considered ok in the past. None of us approved of it, and my comment is 100% true, you wouldn’t get away with it nowadays. Please accept my apologies if you were offended.

A great watch as usual Rodney. Looked like hard work for the Riders, and the poor old IT490. Bush Mechanics at it's best. Very entertaining! I'm looking forward to Part 2! 👍😁
