I am well into the game but your level of detail and honest opinions are on point. I will be going through all your vids just to leave likes! Thanks for being so helpful to newcomers.
I have an old Proto Axis Pro mask that I bought around 2010. I swapped the frame with a Proto FS frame because it has a chin strap and they're still working great. I'm watching mask videos just in case these frames ever break because I have trouble finding them
I'm just getting back in after having quit back in 07. Had profilers, flex, and the grillz when they came oout. I can't justify spending 200+ on a mask when profilers are 60-80$. Pretty sure I will get them again. More comfortable \ better field of view than grillz. Plus I can add a virtue pro pad and push chin strap and still be cheaper than any new mask.
Thanks for watching! I bought a propad for mine, and the only thing it accomplished was making it harder to adjust the strap...went straight into the garbage.
I used to be a Proflex fan until the E-Flex came out and that has become my dream mask. I'm still surprised at how few of these modern masks come close to its comfort and "performance". By that I mean how easy it is to talk and breathe out of it. Sure you'll eat more paint, but that's a tradeoff I'd take any day. I'm always surprised how it always seems to get left out of things like this and it makes me wonder if I'm missing something. I haven't found a more comfortable or user friendly mask than an E-Flex, especially after double strapping it (installing a JT strap into the existing strap).
I have 2 E Flexes, and I 100% agree that it is the best iteration of the Flex mask ever. It was left out here because it isn't as good as these in fit or value in my opinion.
My favorite mask is still the Empire E-flex. Comfort, breathability, protection, visibility is all great. One of the few masks that I can wear my glasses under comfortably. Also highly customizable & affordable price point.
Yep...great mask for sure. I mentioned in there that I have one; I have a single pane clear lens in mine with an anti-fog insert on it that I wear for rainy days. It isn't as comfortable as any of these, but it's not far off, and in general is a great mask.
@@Dave-wy5nq yes I do recall you mentioning it. It's definitely nice to see an in-depth look at some newer options. Love the content you've been putting out. I found your channel via your trilogy autococker review. Inspired me to dig mine out of storage & freshen it up for woodsball/rec play.
@@rosseaton89 wow love to hear it! I'm always working on trying to make the videos better (I think I need to learn to make em shorter :) so it's always great to hear that someone is enjoying them!
most of the players that come to the field I work at with their own equipment use the latest and greatest of new masks, but I honestly still love my eflex. I had a empire evs but returned it because I just didnt like how much more bulky it was than my eflex, so Ive been using my eflex for the past 3 years and ave no intention of changing any time soon.
So glad I came here before I bought one! I have a jt, great mask. I bought a HK HSTL mask recently for 45, Haven't used it yet. Been looking for a higher end mask. Thanks for the great reviews. Definitely helps us that are not close to a main store.
A real cool mask that never seen development was the angel eyes. I remember looking at models of it. The breathing wasn’t that good and kinda big on the head.
i would also say if you got a tiny head your best options are the Push unite at the top .. virtue contour 2 next , a tier down would be the virtue vio xs 2 .. then the dye i4.. then the view force grillz ... then last place the hk klr. i really hope they come out with more options for the bigger faced people because we dont have a lot of options.. the evs looks big as heck but its only massive at the google section.. the bottoms dont help much and that mask echos bad.. the Flex line is the best option but i really wished theyd do something to improve the form and finish appearance of the jt lens without making us have to buy the newest flex that has the easier to removed lens system but a lot less flex and jaw protection
I have empire evs and they don’t cover my face or ears. Thank you for doing a review on the Extend because know one has do review on them. I think I’m going to be picking some up and selling my Evs.
Does anyone know what mask has the best downward FOV? My local field is littered with rocks and roots. Everyone falls because they cant see what's immediately infront of them. I've searched as much as i could but came up with no answers.
Neither of the CMDs I have came with the tripe density foam. They both have 2 layers, but they are both the same density making the 'dual layer' thing meaningless. I mentioned the micro visor and the thicker strap in the video. Still, not worth the 75% more money it costs over the Ascend, which actually has dual density foam and an easily added full (not micro) visor.
I don't wear glasses when I play, so I have no practical advice for that. Everyone I know who plays and needs glasses wears contacts when playing due to how awful it is to try to play w glasses on. I'm aware that this isn't an option for 100% of people, but that's the limit of my experience.
I ran Profilers for years. I own the grilles now and they are great but it sure doesn't give the head protection that the profilers do. There is really no reason to spend more than 100 bucks on a mask unless you want the name brand stuff or the few fancy extras!
Empire helix will take care of that . Not sure if oters do it, but the helix has a gap in the foam where the arms of your glasses would be . My daughter love that about them. I think $45 new with thermal lens.
@@kernalcorn84 ya the empire evs has the same in there foam. I did ware v-force grill but I think the lenses were so close to my face my glasses were hitting the lenses.
There aren't any polarized lenses currently available. I suspect the significant curvature of modern lens design would make polarizing difficult, but I'm not a lens expert. Would be a great option to have though!
i appreciate your videos.. i also wore and still own many masks and i really enjoy my virtue vio extend and i also enjoy the bunker kings cmd even though its not dual density foam . i also own the eflex and love the coverage of the eflex but i dislike the soft ears . i liked the dye i3 way more than the 4 and the 5 is just the 4 extended and with a hardhat style racheting strap that is a cool gimmick but the tensioner dial got weaker over a year of paintball . .. id say the ascend is the best value if they just improved the vocals a little bit more because i enjoy the ascends fit and colorways more .. its basically a poor mans bnkerkings cmd

Really glad you put each of the masks on so we can have a good idea of face coverage and fit
Still wear my profiler mask . Going on 10 years now . Just changed the lens this year for the first time.

straight up, profilers are the GOAT. look sweet, breathe good, agg factor, inexpensive, talk loud. im here for it.
Proflex is the goat but the Profilers are 2nd.

Profiler vs grill
Since I’m sure you’ve tried both. Thanks!!! Great review man!

Empire evs
Oops...'Add Text?' PRO VIDEO!!! :)
Hey Dave, what's your favorite mask if you have to wear glasses? My eyes are weird, so contacts aren't an option. Been looking at the Proflex X.
I think either the E Flex, or the Empire EVS. One of my teammates wears glasses when he plays and he likes the EVS.
@@airtimepaintball463 thanks. I ended up with the EVS and it fits pretty well.
The efkex is my favorite
Love yur jersy
Between the Vio Ascend and Bunker Kings CMD do you notice any difference in breathability?
Hey there! No, I can't tell any difference between them in any way when I wear em.
Actually it is the CMD has 3 layers foam a micro visor & a thicker strap plus its 1 piece rubber

Empire Eflex.
why are masks 200$ lol
Proflex with headband and beanie to cover ears
...or you could just get a mask that covers your ears properly.
