This was a great product review. One of the best I have seen covering Single boiler machines and features. Well spoken, concise, and edited well to not waste time. Thumbs up for IDC. If you have a link to great Grinder for less than $450 USD I would love to know it.
I just received this from you yesterday and I had no idea about that trick to get the machine back to brew temp after steaming milk. So far I'm having fun figuring this thing out, it's nice to feel like a noob again! Cheers
Hi, I suggest doing a backflush every 100-150 drinks or so. We have a video on how to backflush the machine on our channel. Also, if you are using hard water then you have to descale once in a while.
hey man so I was just browsing the website .. a few things I found annoying about the interface as a consumer. when im looking at the espresso machines for example; it would be nice to be able to sort the items from Highest price to lowest etc. or from most popular or most reviewed. another thing that would be nice is to be able to have more filters for each brand. Say I click on Rocket (they have a dizzying amount of machines now) it would be cool if I could say look at only the hx models, then narrow my choice down to say > pidded versions > rotary pump. help the consumer narrow down the choices into what exact features they want in their machine.
There looked like there was a not insignificant flex in the front panel whenever you put a small amount of pressure on the basket. Is this common in E61 machines?
No, actually the opposite. A heat exchanger like the Rubino can steam and draw espresso at the same time whereas the Alexia is a single boiler so it takes longer to make milk based drinks. If your usual drink is a latte I recommend the Rubino over the Alexia
@@adfadf9785 both are good products, the Rubino is a newer product so we don't have as much experience with it but I will say that Rocket has industry leading reliability in my opinion

If anyone is still looking at this. It's a lot faster when you do it through the group head...
I really like the design of the machine for a single boiler.
This machine is a beautiful beast ❤
Nice and detailed review. Thanks!
Nice Video. Thank You!
Hello
Thanks for the video, also I would like to know how can I clean this machines and how often do I have to clean?
Thanks.

Hi, not really. I have not seen this develop into an issue on any e61 machine
Thanx, How many times to change from coffee to steam?
I would say about a minute
How much water can boiler hold before refilling it?
Hi, the boiler is 0.75l and the water reservoir is 3l
Is this better than Rubino if you only drink latte?

@@iDrinkCoffeeCanada Do you recommend the Rocket Appartamento over the Rubino in terms of quality?
