I'll tell ya what...I never thought back in my late teens respecting Eminem for his talent with words that I'd be sitting here in my early 40s listening to new music by the GOAT. I know Rap God itself isn't a new track, but I'm referring to The Death of Slim Shady album. And he's worked with so many artists over the past decade especially, even ones you'd never think he'd collab with. Glad you enjoyed this track, and thanks for the history lesson as well!

And when talking about the best, it's unfair to compare other periods of rap, because lyricism and flow patterns are a lot more evolved than the 70's,80's,90's. So yeah you have an argument. But there is nobody that overwhelms the genre like Em did for such a long time. The dude just pushes the limits of delivery, rhyming and lyricism. There are others in the conversation for sure though. Like Wayne, Black Thought, Crooked, Royce,... But imo Em is way more consistent in showcasing his skills. Might not always be the best sound especially if you only like traditional hip hop, but the skillset the dude has is insane. From early to now.

I lost my ish when this video came out like 12 or 13 years ago bc it was ahead of its time regarding technology and I loved Em rapping fast💯 Supersonic was my jam in high school too so the fact that he mashed the two, PERFECTION! Rhyming noodle (rhyming brain), etc. the more I hear it, the more entendres you hear..
This was actually before Speedom. Speedom was 2015 and Rap God was 2013! He did say in an interview once that he used to rap fast in the early nineties. Once Speedom hit tho, he hit a new level of fast rap so I definitely think you and Tech mighta inspired him to loosen up a bit. Just my opinion!
Some of his early stuff was pretty fast, as you can tell from "Biterphobia", but it wasn't quite at this level. I think this was new for him, but it got a hell of a reception, so since then it's kind of become a signature move for him. Speedom would have been a pretty natural next step on that road for him after this, before doing stuff like "Homicide" with Logic, and then "Godzilla" and "Gnat". "Gnat" is an interesting one because the beat is slow and chill, but his flow keeps speeding up.
What you were talking about with "conjunctive phrases" (i have no idea if that's a thing or not, but how you put it lol), Masta Ace has an entire song called Connections where he does something like that basically every bar. Ace one of the most slept on.
