Debbie, We had some conversation about Wichita Falls prior to my making the move from Lubbock; over a year ago. I have lived in Wichita Falls for a year and seven months. I continue to be happy, with this move.
When I went to Wichita falls around 1980, I stayed in a ranch house around the corner from Sheppards Air Force Base... I do remember getting bit by a red fire ant... That bite stung my whole leg for a half hour.... You should see what happens when you put a scorpion or a black widow in a tank of red fire ants... I think it was in 1978 or 79 there was a tornado there... Do they still say that Wichita falls is part of tornado Alley? Down the road from where I was staying was a trailer park.... There was also a mall like here in Ocean County New Jersey, called Sykes center... I had my first Mr pibbs there, something like a Dr pepper..... Overall I had a good time... My sister and her fiance did quite a bit of hiking in the woods there...
Im checking out Witchita Falls bc its absolutely beautiful and I miss living in Texas (back in NY for another year or so). I lived in League City near Houston and loved it there but dont want to go back to such a heavily populated area. My biggest concern is the tornados and potential for fires. I saw first hand what it did to Bastrop SP. Are those more rare patterns in the weather or a more regular thing?
No kidding that's awesome I used to live off 518 and 45 in league city now I'm moving to wichita falls from Washington cause Texas makes more sense on a lot of issues. 😂
Keep hyping up those good qualities about Wichita Falls like you're doing and you'll have so many Californians and New Yorkers moving into there it'll become another Austin - if that's what you want. When I get ready to move, I'll be looking for a nice quiet place to retire, but I'm certainly not going to move any place where I know lots of people are flocking to.
You might see snakes as well but, most are not venimous and they found a chance to enter your home. Many can be chased with a broom outside and they don't put up a fight; they retreat. I moved to the Austin metroplex aand happy to be moving back to the WF 'metroplex'. Now you can buy beer and wine at 10AM with the new law.
I love Wichita Falls Born there, own 10 Acres. Live in Ohio Oh I left Texas Texas never left me. Love your videos, love riding my Harley. I stand for the flag, God Bless Texas.Thank you again.
I haven’t heard a singe person from Wichita Falls cite crime as a con, but online surveys say it’s above average and my family here in OR is concerned about us moving there because of it. What info do you have on this topic? I’d love to ease their minds!
I"ve lived in Downtown LA and know crime. The stats on crime here I have no idea where they come from. I feel safer here than anywhere I've ever lived. Many neighborhoods people leave their doors unlcoked.
Hi , I know this is a stretch but I don’t know if I would like to move for sure but I have to know if Rosewood Ave a good street to live on ? ☺️✨thank you for you’re help
Um it's Texas but in Wichita falls do get.......snow? Or is it just a little cold? I'm from Canada so I have no idea how cold in gets in the winter time down there.
Very informative! When is that race in August? We have this area on our retirement list. We also have friends in the area. We would love to visit this summer before school starts again. We live in an older home here in WA state. Are older homes that don’t need remodeling available for sale?
Hotter 'N Hell 100, August 25 this year. Yes we do have older homes that need remodeling all the time. When you get ready to come here text me 940-224-1141!!!
Im researching to one day move out from L.A. somewhere between into Southern Oklahoma and Northern Texas and between a Small City and/or Medium Town with good sunny weather for the most part. I was born and raised near L.A. but I can't afford to live here anymore as a blue collar worker,I can't afford to buy nor rent a home and im getting tired of living in roach infested apartments and always needing a room mate to help with offsetting the monthly bills and at the end of the day, im still just a blue collar worker that makes few dollars above the minimum wage-- in that case it's better to just move out of here and where im able to afford my own place and I could find low wage jobs just about anywhere in the country. All im paying is just for nice weather most of the year with downtown and hollywood night life, mountains close by and beaches close by, but the TRAFFIC makes everything far. Also, this L.A. life it has become degenerate and im more Christian leaning and I want to be close sharing life with other Christian alike community.
We have rattlesnakes and tornadoes. We have had two fires come up to our house in 10 years because of the droughts we get. Beautiful place if you like dirt and mesquites. Look ‘‘em up!
It's quite fabulous actually. Because we have a military base and a NATO training base we have a very cosmopolitan feel. That's one of the things I love about this community is that you don't have to feel like you fit in because EVERYONE fits in. If you would like to chat a little more in detail, schedule a Zoom call in the link above! T
There's one in every city. The two things people say about this city they love first, the people, second the no traffic. It's everything I talk about on this channel and the Happiest Place in Texas!
@@YourWichitaFalls we are considering a move there next year, we love what we see sorry for the dumb questions but what part of town should we be looking at? Is there a seedy area we should avoid?

My Kansas family appreciated/built wrap around porches so I fell in love with them from a young age.

Thanks. One of mine as well. Bless your heart!
lived there for 8 years and I loved it!!!!! 😍 😍
Awesome!
Texas hospitality was welcoming when I lived in wf, the summer heat, fire ants, mosquitoes, I could do without...

Not in the most desired area. I wouldn't say not to just not a great deal of desire for it.
Um it's Texas but in Wichita falls do get.......snow? Or is it just a little cold? I'm from Canada so I have no idea how cold in gets in the winter time down there.
We do about 2 times a year for a day or so. It's a true snow day because the town mostly shuts down since we don't have the infrastructure to plow.

That should be fun!
Curious do WF have a zoo? What happened to Wichita General?
No Zoo that I am aware of. Wichita General became United REgional
Hey, I’m looking to move March 1st, I’m looking for a two or three bedroom 2 ba for rent
Best of luck!
Sturgis is a biker event. Hotter Than Hell is a bicycling event.
Ohhh I stand corrected!
Cockroaches can get pretty big, but Palmetto bugs are humongous black creatures ! The picture you used was a cockroach
I'm actually looking for a rent house in WF
They are super hard to find right now. How much is your budget?
