    I live in wichita falls. I was born here in 1980. This used to be a full airforce base, I mean the entire city. Then it was converted into a municipality, the streets are arranged a little weird, at first most of them seem the same, but lead to completely different places. The cost of living is low because nobody realizes its for retirement, we use the airforce base to continue to train airforce pilots that are being deployed to war. The college is another reason most people pass through MSU Midwestern state university brings in a lot of residents and offers good courses that can be afforded. Overall it's a peaceful place to live. We are almost our own country here alone just the way it feels. The downside is there isn't a lot to do for younger kids. They tried to put things up, but they don't get used much . Even our low income areas are peaceful, and have plenty that will help you without trying to take advantage of you. But just like everywhere else you gotta look out for those people that will do you wrong but they're easy to spot. El paso has more business you can try to get employment by, but we still have great job opportunities if you can tolerate laziness, and gossip. Every job I've had wether it's mechanical or restaurant it's fun, and customers are usually friendly and courteous most tip in both fields. It's easy to make friends for kids and adults. Only drawback is the municipality will ticket you wrongly most times, and try to write you off to the state, so it takes a while to take care of minor things when you are innocent. Other than that one thing, it's good. Racism is almost extinct here, minus some real old folks, but given they're gonna die soon I just let it slide. It's between them and the lord they serve. I hope if you're reading this that it can help you decide better if you wanna park it here for a while.

    I keep on sending your videos to my son and grandson. We live in Massachusetts, and I really want to have a garden all year, and not have to worry much about freezing in winter...since New Englanders would never freeze in Texas. You never know when the para$ites are going to turn off the power and take away the food and water. My son says all the crazies live in Texas: kidnappers, mrderers, etc., and that the bugs are much larger in Texas.

    • @YourWichitaFalls
      @YourWichitaFalls  2 года назад +2

      That's interesting. That does not explain why the hundreds of thousands of people move here from other states each month! Not year, month! We have fewer kidnappers, murderers etc than anywhere else and yes the bugs are here, but any rural area would have bugs, The bigger cities not so much. It's an amazing place! We have a saying "I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as soon as I could".

      @@YourWichitaFalls I'm going to send your reply to my guys. I'm quite concerned about the food shortages that are intentionally being created, and I'd like to garden year round. I believe we would have no problem surviving any winter power outages. My son leaves his house 6 days a week before 5am, including during blizzards. I love that Texans know they are a free republic. And I love that ebikes can go up to 28 mph if you are pedaling AND there are no requirements of drivers licenses, registrations or insurance for bikes...like our 'challenged' MA corporate congress insists on for us.
      ( ◕ ‿ ◕) You would think that a state, like MA, that is so proud of replacing most of the coal fired electrical power generation plants with solar, would jump at the chance of getting more people on ebikes. Last time I moved, I was looking for an apt in the South. My son talked me out of it, and I knew he would be worrying the whole time if I moved south...so I moved to an even colder place in MA. Ugh!! Nice in summer. Awful and dangerous in winter.

      @@MadDog44 This November will be a true indication of what is happening everywhere, especially Texas if it goes Blue. Shouldn't but they are working really hard to make that happen. If we stay Red it will be safe here for a while. A place like MA will be a hard place to live soon.

      Nope. HEB barely got to the Dallas area this year. They probably won't be moving this far North for several years. They are privately owned Texas company and have a very stringent market plan.

    How would you compare it to moving to El Paso ?

    • @YourWichitaFalls
      @YourWichitaFalls  3 года назад +1

      Night and day! El Paso is six times as large, has traffic is near the Mexico border and there is a much more crime. Statistically ranks very low in the quality of life in County Health Rankings, one of the poorest cities in the country. Weather more desert like. WF no traffic, ranks high on quality of life, happiest place in TX, thriving with plenty of jobs and more accommodating weather.

      @@poslusaj Fellow El Pasoan here who is actually looking into moving to good ol' Wichita. I love El Paso, the food is amazing, the people are friendly, and the women are beautiful. However, the rising real estate prices ( a nice beautiful home about 1200-1250 sq feet was 120K in 2019. Now in 2022, the same home will probably cost you about 200K plus about 10-20K bidding over asking price to beat all the 20 people interested in it. It is ridiculous). There is lots of construction going on with the growing population (expanding EAST) Traffic can be bad and drivers are bad especially on I10 and on Montana. West side are slower drivers. If you listen to the news, there is a shooting every weekend in high school parties or in bars but that is just the nature of the beast. It sounds nuts, but it definitely should not happen to you. I would recommend it if you can afford it. Weather wise, it is dry heat in the summer in the 100s.

      @@YourWichitaFalls The cost of living in Wichita Falls has definitely gone up. My apartment complex raised my rent from $695 to $800. I live in an okay part of town, but it ain't nice enough to justify paying $800/m for a 1 bed 1 bath unit.
