yeah a lot of people feel its a little weird haha. But for some reason thats how ive always felt comfortable in a lot of senses and has developed having more accurate hits. Also tom resonation is supposed to sound better when a drum is pointed directly towards the floor, supposedly. But good question my man. thanks a lot for checking it out
I believe it was 5 and then used the audio we recorded from one(audio was recorded with a seperate digital recorder). This was our easiest and most effective option without sacrificing video quality with the other cameras we had. So I did my best to play it hit for hit the same everytime. Thank you for watching it and hopefully you dug it
Daniel you're an Epic drummer thanks for posting. You definitely inspired me to practice more than ever. Keep up the good work and keep on posting bro!!! I can already see Daniel(Superhuman) Koppy on the cover of Modern Drummer and all related drum magazines!!!!By the way i love your set up it's sweet!!!!
Great job on this cover! I think Jojo Mayer explains in his DVD how this set up makes the drums resonate better, as well as other advantages of this style set up.
That is the absolute lowest that particular snare can be positioned as well with lowest height snare stand you can buy (pearl snare stand). That snare is 7 inches in depth, so positioning will always be an issue with bigger drums. My arms rest just under a 90 degree angle when I play which is pretty ideal for snare positioning most drummers would say. My kit is comfortable for me but not for everyone. thanks for the feed back and for watching.
Thanks a lot everyone for checking this video out! If you like what you hear please check out my band REAPING ASMODEIA and all the other videos of myself and of the band. We are premiering a brand new Prom video at 6pm today October 25th, for our debut record that will be out in early 2013. please go check it out when its live! More footage to come!
I just am comfortable with my toms flat and dig the sound dude. Everyone has their own set up when it comes to drums. Good to mix it up. Im not sure what ya mean by "posing" though haha Either way thanks for watching!
If you guys have not done so yet, please head over to Reaping Asmodeia dot com and stream and purchase my band Reaping Asmodeia's brand new EP "The Moribund Resurrection" It is only 3 dollars! Keep watching my videos and enjoying drumming in general with me. I will have some great news to fill you in with very soon if you are liking the covers I have been posting these past months.
I've seen loads of players have their toms that flat, due to them coming from a marching band approach when starting. Class drummer fella, keep it up :) \m/
Dude this is killer. I'm glad I met your bass player at GC, otherwise, I would have never seen this. You could fill in for Slayer on a moment's notice if you wanted. As far as any comments concerning your toms, I need to see users who posted such tripe to upload their own videos playing this very thing as well as you do. I would care if you mounted your toms on the ceiling, you kick eternal ass on the drums, and no one should dare to fuck with you.
Nicely done! But as a drummer I have no idea how you can play with your toms angled like that though, to me it looks uncomfortable to play but whatever works works i suppose.
Solid drumming. Btw, I have no idea why so mamy people have a problem with your tom positioning. Whatever makes a drummer comfortable. Mine rack is also flat. How can someone dislike that?
