When I first watched top of the pops at age nine Adam and the Ants were number one with stand and deliver. I was completely and utterly gobsmacked and bowled over. It was so exciting. However Adam Ant gets my vote as someone in my fifties too. Not only do I still adore his music but I think he is really really great the way he has spoken up about the issue of bi-polar disorder. And also that if someones life is becoming insufferable through mental ill health their first point of call is their general practitioner. That person both knowing a good deal about mental ill health but also being a gate keeper to the services in the community the mentally ill person may find really helps them.
