And even with that GPU you can't play games that require Quad-Core processors, like the newest COD games, even Farcry 4 requires a quad-core CPU.
I think you can go for something cheaper. And if you change the CPU you'll also need to change the motherboard (because newer CPUs have different Sockets). And a new motherboard might have DDR3 instead of DDR2, and you'll also need new RAM.
