They are very talented musicians and they have this magical voice and lyrics that I love 💕 The Exile band will forever be in our hearts❤️ ❤. Tell me since when have you been playing their songs?
The first time I heard this song it was in a brand-new 1978 Cutlass Supreme, it had a great stereo with great speakers. My friend's dad picked us up from choir practice, it was dark and snowing. I had a huge crush on his dad, he was a true 70's man with, a leather coat dressed well, gold chains, a beard, and blonde hair little long with cologne was Gray Flannel. The cold, smell of leather, cologne, and new car. Then we get in for a 20-minute drive, this song on... oh my! I was 9 and thought I was loving every minute.

Jerry Rafferty Night Owl, Billy Joel various of his songs, even the sex pistols lyrics that tell a story. Not just a noise to bring in money to greedy record labels and managers.

Working the night shift in a real gasoline station back in 1977 listening to pop music all night long. It was a blessing listening to all these great hits.
I was a freshman in high school when this song was popular. Loved the song, used to write the lyrics on the back of my school work. Had no clue what the meaning of the song was. Poor Mr. Robinson, I apologize for any discomfort or embarrassment I caused.
I never realised how well executed this song was done. Incredible - a man expressing his love and desire for his woman. It is very seductive ... designed to break through any defences. No wonder Billboard ranked it one of the 'Sexiest Songs of All Time'!

I remember hearing this group when i first started secondary school. On our twin island state, there was this British guy who had a Top 100 Songs every saturday which he based on Billboard n songs from the Uk. So it was typical to heard calypso, indian music, rock music and r&b (as it was referred to at that time) all in one day. I haven't lost my love for music and every week i rediscover a song n play the heck out of it. Last week it was 'Talk Talk Life's what you make it' Exile is a fantastic group and this particular track never gets old. I wonder if they still play this song when they perform and it would certainly be a treat to hear them. Great hearing from a fellow fan 🙂
@@sharonali3809 aww, that's nice of you, I've been listening to their songs since I was a little and I'm still playing their songs to date lol. Which of their songs are your favorite songs?
@@BryantBenson335 Definitely this was my favorite cause I was around 11-12 yrs old when i first heard it and it got major air play. I like 'you thrill me,' 'how can this go wrong' 'nobody"s talking' & 'i can't get close enough.' Just a little point of interest, years ago my homeland had calypso but now it is like a repackaged product (for want of a better word) and it is now soca. People really do not use that term again but there were calypsos way back then. I hope you have a great day and you're enjoying your life 😆
1st heard this in a local bar back in my drinking days. Everytime it came on I was hunting for the pipe wrench to turn it up! All of that is long past including the bad memories. There were alot of good times then but the crowd I ran with have all went their different ways. Who would've thought I would've made it this far & a great g'father to boot?
I was there back then . . . And it was a whole different time and a whole different world . . . And the music showed that . . . . But nowadays the world is just full of people with the morals of a shithouse rat . . And the music nowadays prove that .
Has anyone else noticed how, I could be wrong not a professional music critic or musician for that matter, but, how incredibly well this song blends the rock genre with a subtle element of disco?

You can earn 3x your capital invested with crypto currency, I meet a legit trader fro Stockton CA, Mr Gary Townsend who help me recover my lost last year, now I've a house and a brand new car, don't miss to earn with crypto currency!
I was or 5 or 6 when it came out but I still remember songs I heard back then. Kids that age were riding in the front seat back then without the child car seat. Right in front of the radio and 8 track tape deck with the tapes in the console between the seats. We didn't even have to buckle up back then!
Music slowly started 'sucking' after the 70's. No talent needed when all you had to do was scream and strum a guitar or bang a drum. (Not much lyric's and NO understandable melody, hardly at all)
+ScorpioBornIn69 I doubt that anyone can give a precise and thoroughly acceptable explanation as to why so much of the older music simply seems 'better', but that sentiment comes up on virtually every video comment section for 1970s songs in particular. I'm a musician, albeit not one on tour or in the studio for a paycheck, but I do play, and I have a 'good ear'. I don't think there's a lack of talented players today. There never has been. There are certainly many marginal 'talents' out there, but I believe that the dullness in music today is a matter of shifts in culture, values, the general speed of living in today's world -- a lot of social factors that are driving music and every other industry. Times have not so simply changed. Unfortunately, I'd agree that much of the changes reflected in modern music add up to a large amount of shitty material being pumped out. It's a perfect marriage of crass commercialism and insipid artists with nothing magical to say. This is the product of living in times where technology is godlike and gadgets are revered as portals to freedom. Puritanical parents decried Elvis and the sinful changes he brought forth on the music scene. Woodstock-era music was steeped in Vietnam War influences and calls for cultural awakening. Music today seems hollow and in need of 'purpose'. Thankfully the indie music scene and broad outlets like RUclips have opened up the floodgates and wrested totalitarian control from the Record Industry. That said, I can't stand a lot of the homogenous, whiny, bearded hipster and NoraJones near-clone groups and solo acts that have emerged as a result of the simultaneously shrinking and expanding world of mass communication. I've quoted Duke Ellington many times, via Peter Schickele: "If it sounds good, it is good." Therein lies the rub, because musical appreciation will forever be a totally subjective matter. I will always return to the greats from bygone decades, and I'll have new favorites as well, but the latter seem like they will be far fewer in number.
theoriginalbillholt What I have been seeing and noticing is that today's music and not only today but the past 25 years is the lack of talent of it all. To make it sound 'good' it must not have dull, stale lyrics which it has along with lack of melody, sounding too much alike and with little or no rythum. I see very little of it from post 1990 music since rap/hip hop and grunge alternative music became mainstream in the early '90s. There are just 'some' good ones out there however take up a small percent of the current mainstream music. If there is truly any talent out there, I would hear far more of it in today's music with great lyrics, melody and rythum and most of not sounding all alike. Pre1990 bands produced and made different sounds of their own music, therefore you can tell who it is. Not the case with today's music. And also bands long ago wrote their own music. Today, big corporations do most of the producing and making.
Ronnie Watts 1978 was an "awesome" year for music? NEGATIVE! Disco, for Christ's sake! The friggin' Bee Gees and Andy Gibb! "Boogie Oogie Oogie"! " Le Freak"! My friends and I were praying for disco to go away. Thank God for Little Feat, Molly Hatchet, and Tom Petty.
I totally forgot this song. Used to be one of my favorites... All of a sudden, out of the blue, it pops in my head. So glad it did... Back when music was music.
The 70's was the best decade ever. The 80's were awful, barely one song worth keeping! The 70's were insane from the variety of hard rock to this kind of music to disco, it was an insane decade.
Back When this song was on the radio I was too young, 14-15, to have a clue what the lyrics meant but I knew I wanted desperately to grow up and experience it. And I wanted to know what it feels like to kiss a girl and be with a girl. Best times of my life. Thank you, God for blessing me.
These 70s Love Songs bring out a deeper level of emotion I do not find in too many other genres and that my friends really touches the very core of my spiritual being!!!!!!!
I teach 6th grade General music. It is amazing how many kids of today know the music of the 70;s and 80s... so many times I would play a tune and they would say, "hey, we know that".. many times kids will sing along. It shocks them when I tell them that the music is 40 + years old -
My nephew graduated this year. He owns an expensive Les Paul and plays the rock and roll from my era (70's) and doesn't like rap at all. I thought all the kids listened to rap only.

Another great song. I'm 59 and still rocking. Who else still rocking?

I never realised how well executed this song was done. Incredible - a man expressing his love and desire for his woman. It is very seductive ... designed to break through any defences. No wonder Billboard ranked it one of the 'Sexiest Songs of All Time'!
Hey how are you doing today..?
They are very talented musicians and they have this magical voice and lyrics that I love 💕The Exile band will forever be in our hearts❤️❤. Tell me since when have you been playing their songs?
I remember hearing this group when i first started secondary school. On our twin island state, there was this British guy who had a Top 100 Songs every saturday which he based on Billboard n songs from the Uk. So it was typical to heard calypso, indian music, rock music and r&b (as it was referred to at that time) all in one day. I haven't lost my love for music and every week i rediscover a song n play the heck out of it. Last week it was 'Talk Talk Life's what you make it'
Exile is a fantastic group and this particular track never gets old. I wonder if they still play this song when they perform and it would certainly be a treat to hear them. Great hearing from a fellow fan 🙂

I hope you have a great day and you're enjoying your life 😆
These were the good years of unadulterated passion for music.

Mykolegee Galaviz Amen..
Music slowly started 'sucking' after the 70's. No talent needed when all you had to do was scream and strum a guitar or bang a drum. (Not much lyric's and NO understandable melody, hardly at all)
Dean Tomlinson - No bicycle helmets nor "safety" labels on electrical cords, etc. Just live life straight ahead !
Why has it took me 40 years to realise how good this song is, always loved it ,now
My god Musicians back then knew how to put down a track
Wow..this song is timeless. Beautiful . Love it.
The lyrics, melody and rythium is outstanding. Only if today's bands and post 1990 bands can learn from such talented bands from the '70s and '80s.
I have and still love listening to Exile, your right they can stand to learn from the band's of the 70's and 80's
I know...the shit nowadays is literally shit. Let's have some big band era music too. just garbage on the radio now.
Well said!
My boyfriend and I wore this song out ...and each other ...in the 70's. Such a great love song and incredible music, too.

Without a doubt, the 70s was the greatest decade of music. Practically every genre was producing classic albums.
70's were good but 80's more dynamic
No doubt the 70s and 80s music is the best ever from country to disco to easy listening.
I agree. They haven't made music like this since.
I most certainly agree!!
