Have you ever thought of reacting to the Masked Singer, it's so cool and me and my mom have watched every season
In case you don’t know Marjorie is about her grandma (who passed away)
Marjorie was the song right after the first one. It was about Taylor’s late grandma, Marjorie. Marjorie was an opera singer, and some of her vocals are in the background of this song.
I love Marjorie. It's about her grandmother. If you listen, you can hear Marjorie's vocals in the background.
She was an opera singer.
@@aimiemcphee7333 yip
wait i never noticed that. that's so cute tho
The song always gets me crying
@@dogalien321 same
Marjorie "What died didn't stay dead"... it's about her grandmother who wanted to be a singer. She did have some success as a singer but essentially stopped short to raise a family. ...'a closet full of backlogged dreams' that are now with Taylor.
her grandmother was a _professional_ opera singer; she married a man who ran an international construction company in the Caribbean in the 1950s. It was headquartered at first in Havana; Marjorie was in the national opera. They moved because of the Cuban Revolution to Puerto Rico, where she was in their national (State) opera company; and also a television hostess for several years. They settled later in Houston TX, where Andrea went to school and university (for business).
@@robertthompson7242 Yeah, what I said...she had some success. No need to come at me with italics. But who she married wasn't the dream. She wasn't a household name is my point. Hell don't take my word for Marjorie's unrealized dreams. Take Taylor's... 'closet full of backlogged dreams'.
@@user-to2sc3cm6m Italics somehow hurt your feelings? Sorry. I'm sure she wanted better, but she did more than "want to be a singer."
Her husband's business was paying the bills, and she did well for where she lived. From the dates, Andrea was born in Cuba or PR; they went to Venezuela after for awhile.
What I thought most interesting about her life was how beloved she was by the TV audience in PR; apparently, she was never very good at Spanish, but the audience loved her anyway.
Taylor seems to really take after her. With the dark wig, she even looks a lot like her grandmother in the Wildest Dream video. I've always suspected she was teaching Taylor to sing when she was winning those karaoke contests. cheers
@@robertthompson7242 Nope, people who have clearly slipped from 'fans who enjoy Taylor's music and think she seems like a cool person' to 'we're secretly married; she just doesn't know it yet' hurt my feelings.
The choreographer for the tour said that the first concept she showed Taylor was for Willow (the opening song for the Evermore set) and Taylor cried 🥺
The choreographer for the Era’s tour also was the choreographer for the movie LaLa Land. There is an interview with the choreographer available on RUclips
Am I crazy? Isn't "Tis the Damn Season" the opener? I've only seen the movie and set list, not live
Mandy Moore is the choreographer, not the actress.
@@CrystalSki67 TTDS it is the actual opener of the evermore set, but since this video is only about the movie, I was basing it off that and I didn’t want to type out a long convoluted explanation about it 😅 nor assume everyone knows the songs by name.
@@CrystalSki67 there are a few songs she didn't put in the movie. for the extended version, she added back in The Archer, Wildest Dreams and Long Live but the two that never made it into the movie were Tis The Damn Season and Cardigan.
Marjorie was written about her grandmother, Marjorie Finlay. Marjorie was an opera singer. When you get to Evermore, you’ll be able to hear her vocals sampled in the background of the song.
Marjorie passed away when Taylor was 13. She never got to see how big Taylor would become, but she has deeply influenced Taylor and inspired her to become a musician.
❤❤❤
The one time 13 didn’t bring her luck
Damn...I wasn't expecting her to show us her drink mixing talent too 😂 and I'm here for it
tolerate it on the eras tour movie truly was something else. i love the emotion and acting. taylor’s attitude is everything. she brings the song to life (as with every song on tour haha)
Taylor singing Marjorie in front of millions of people and including her grandmother's vocals, who never achieved the success she dreamed of and never got to see what Taylor would become, absolutely wrecked me. Marjorie's music lives on through her and it's so beautiful.
If you didn't know already, Taylor has been into musical plays since childhood. She's a theater kid by heart 💗
Part of everyone's reaction to Champagne Problems, other than it being a great song, is because she gave an interview with Apple Music for Evermore's release where she said she was looking forward to performing the "she would've made such a lovely bride / what a shame she's fucked in the head" line live when she was able to tour again with everybody in the audience singing along with her, and of course Swifties made it a thing.
The choreographer is Mandy Moore. She did the choreography for La La Land and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend as well.
This is my favorite Taylor Swift album. I cried throughout this entire segment of the Eras Tour Movie. I feel like Evermore saved my life through covid and pregnancy loss, I can't thank Taylor enough for writing the soundtrack to my healing the way that she did. I'm crying now just thinking about it.
"THIS IS SOME HADESTOWN SH!T ROGHT HERE." -my new favorite Audrey quote
Her shows always have theatrical elements.Marjorie was her grandma who died in 2003,Taylor looks exactly like her grandma.
The transition from tolerate it to the reputation era was just perfection. My favorite part of the show!!! Gives me chills everytime.
Hello, a Brazilian fan here. Marjorie is a very important song for Taylor, she wrote it as a tribute to her grandmother who passed away, You can even hear your grandmother singing at one point (she was an opera singer).
This song is also very important to me, I lost my two grandmothers last year and my grandfather this year, I went to Taylor's concert here in Brazil (São Paulo) and took photos of the 3 of them, I cried throughout the song.
Tolerar it is a beautiful and heavy song, with a great performance from Taylor. Basically she wants the relationship to be perfect, and at that dinner she imagines herself saying everything to her boyfriend, but in the end you can see how everything was just a thought, and she just "sits and watches him", showing that she didn't have the courage to say everything she needed at that moment.
I've been following you for a long time, I admit it was because of Taylor 😅, but with each video I watch I feel closer and closer to you. I love your reactions and analyses, a kiss, and happy new year.
From your fan from Brazil ❤❤❤
i am very sorry about your losses 💔😢 i hope you are okay soon
@@CharlCharl_ Thank you, I'm getting better every day. The longing is something strong and painful, but I know they are fine wherever they are.
1 day before the 1st anniversary of my maternal grandmother passing away, a kitten appeared at home, no one knows how, but having her here by my side now has helped me a lot to bear the pain.
As she appeared the week of Taylor's show, I named her Taylor Swift, the reason for my joy ❤️
I’m SOOOOOO DAAAAMN HAPPY tolerate it gets the recognition it deserves 😭😭😭🤎🤎🤎✨✨✨
Marjorie is about her Grandmother who was an Opera Singer and you can hear vocals at the end of the song
I remember when the evermore era whas about to start, someone close to me said "bathroom break" and I gave them the death stare. How could you even say that if it's one of the best eras of the whole show
I'm pretty sure taylor actually confirmed that champagne problems was about rory and logan from gilmore girls
Evermore is everything!! It’s just one of my absolute favorite albums from Taylor. The theatrics, the emotions, the rollercoaster it is. I loved this reaction & can’t wait for you to listen to the whole album. 🫶🏻

Watching someone else fall apart to evermore just like I do is an iconic experience. Love this for you!😂
Marjorie is a sad song she might cry because this song is about her late grandmother marjorie
The lady who choreographed this is named Mandy Moore I believe. She did the choreography for LaLa Land as well, I saw an interview with her. This is my FAVORITE album, and was one of my favorite parts of the show, I love these songs soooo much!!!
She also did the show Zoey’s Extroadinary Playlist and IS NOT the same Mandy Moore from This Is us, Walk to Remember, Princess Diaries, Etc.
Marjorie is about Taylor’s grandmother who was an opera singer. Her backing vocals are actually in the song. I was so excited to watch you react to Tolerate It OMG. The way she acts it out you can just feel the emotions.
The wa she goes to Reputation after Tolerate it is such an emotional whiplash
Yeah, when I saw the tour movie I thought the same thing, like I need a few minutes to emotionally recover from tolerate it before I can move on 😂
The song marjorie (the second one) is about her late grandmother Marjorie. She was a professional Opera singer so that is why towards the outro of the song you could hear her grandmother singing. It has always been a very emotional song for many Swifties and Taylor herself.
Taylor’s ability to go from style of song and performance to another is absolutely insane. ❤
Seeing Willow live in Sao Paulo was an EVENT by itself. What a performance wow
Marjorie is about her grandmother, who was an opera singer and in the bit where she sings “And if I didn’t know better, I’d think you were singing to me now”, there is actually a sound taken from and old record, of Marjorie singing. This song is so amazing and it deserves its own reaction video! ❤️
Majorie is about her grandmother..and it has a special place in my heart for my mom
I love that Marjorie's vocals are in the song and Taylor gets to tour her around the World! ❤
If Travis wins the Super Bowl again, it’ll add a whole new level to MYTHICAL THING, LIKE A CHAMPION RING!!!!
evermore and folklore are soo similar yet sooo different. To me, the thing that really sets the two apart is the lyricm. Folklore is a lot more specific in regards to its storytelling (the folklore love triangle) and it’s a lot more concise with its themes. Evermore on the other hand doesn’t seem to have much context to some songs, leaving them very vague and open to interpretation. Evermore is a lot more messy as well in terms of the themes where as folklore seems to flow. Also for some reason, the album covers rlly define them to me. Folklore seems a lot more grey and wispy, whereas evermore is seems a lot more “rustic” and raw. Once you get used to the two, it’s very easy to tell them apart cause you can see and hear the differences in them.
As a new Swiftie, I so appreciate you sharing this. I’ve not listened to much from either of these albums, but now you have me excited to try them!
@@happyfamily1298 of course! I definitely suggest looking into the folklore love triangle because you will never listen to cardigan, betty and august the same after you learn the story. simply search up on yt or google "folklore love triangle explained". There are many interpretations to it but they all revolve around the same main concept.
great explanation. for me, i wanted to add that Folklore is like the summery young 20's love. Evermore is like the wintery, more mature, people in their 30's and their feelings. i also think that folklore is neater because she meant to make that album after she started writing for it. i think evermore came to be because she couldn't stop writing and thought what the heck, it's a pandemic, lets put out more music and not worry about the standard 2 yr/tour pattern. released whatever she came up with and it didn't matter what format is was.
@@bammmitsrachel exactly, although evermore is a lot more “messier”, it still remains very sonically cohesive which ties it closely to folklore. they are both truly amazing works of art.
@@bammmitsrachel Sry for the late reply...That is also helpful for this new fan - thank you for sharing. It makes sense as I hear more from these albums, and I appreciate your take on the contrast btw the two!
When you get to the Evermore album, I'd suggest you use the lyric video when reacting to Marjorie. So worth it 🥰
The saddest and sublime one thing of the song 'tolerate it', it's basically can be any kind of relationship it's can be with your parents your best friends or you couples it's sublime.
I also think the archer and maybe icdiwabh also belong in that group
gee do i want "drinking coffee so I don't cry" on a shirt, mug and/or sticker hahahha
also, that Hadestown vibes you mentioned in the beginning is not far off because Aaron Desner and Justin Vernon who are collaborators on folklore and evermore, have also worked with Hadestown composer Anaïs Mitchell on some projects. Taylor's song "Renegade" for Big Red Machine (Desner and other collaborators) was part of the album "How Long Do You Think It's Gonna Last?" where Mitchell also collaborates on. Justin Vernon sang as Orpheus for the 2010 concept album of Hadestown.
Lover 2019, covid cancelled "Lover Fest"
Folklore and Evermore 2020, covid
Midnights 2022
*figured it wouldn't be fair to do a Midnights tour and wanted to perform the other 3 as well* im surprised she didn't do just a tour with those 4 but Eras Tour was a GREAT idea.
Evermore is the album that was released on 2020 after folklore on the same year
-willow and cardigan is related by the “cardigan” she wore after getting to wear it willow’s
Champagne Problems is my cathartic bawling song. Well, I have a few TSwift songs for that, but this probably is my number one.
I'm glad you finally got to hear it in all of its live magical wonder.
This was my favorite one you’ve done of Taylor yet! I laughed and cried
5:29 this is her first tour since the whole master things so its the first tour where she own most of her music
Just realized a certain song from Midnights is yet to come and c a n n o t w a i t for the reaction to the, um, choreography. 🤘🏼
She might need a cigarette
The choreographer for The Eras Tour is the choreographer for La La Land
Marjorie was her grandma who died and shes singing about her, she was an opera singer (marjorie finlay) and they used her voacls in the background of this song
Marjorie always makes me cry because my grandma’s name was Marjorie and she kind of passed away unexpectedly
When I first saw olerate it was on the setist I was...confused. As much as I love this song, it felt way too intimate for a massive stadium tour. Now it's my favorite part of the show and I can't wait to see it with my own eyes.
Marjorie is about her maternal grandmother, Marjorie Moehlenkamp Finlay, who passed away in 2003 at the age of 74 when she was 13. She was an opera singer and you can actually hear her vocals in the second half of the song. Taylor's said before that she inspired her to pursue a career in music.
Marjorie is about her late grandmother. The Opera Vocals at the end is her singing.
Omg love your reactions to Evermore! Currently my favorite era, but it changes week to week😂 I love that you are loving this. It makes us love it more I think.🥰🥰🫶🫶🥂🥂
Of the tour set, "Marjorie" was the one that made me cry. It was something else in person.
What are you drinking lady it looks yummm 🤣🤪 also I think this is my fav reaction video by you so far
I love how she goes from an emotional breakdown to "ChEeRs!!"🤪
I was in legit tears during the evermore set at my show and the emotional whiplash with reputation was so much lol
Prepare yourself for Marjorie
marjorie such a great tribute song
i love this reaction a lot evermore is my fav album of taylors def recommend reacting to the full album
the evermore set is my favorite. the emotions HURT
Evermore is the greatest album ever made 🙌🏼
You always make me feel joyful. I just love you!! Thanks for deciding to become a RUclipsr. Tolerate it is in my top ten Taylor Sings 🔥
I love her excitement when Taylor brought out the piano bc we all know that means champagne problems is next and all fans love it
It’s an epic song ❤
chaampange problems is about her being porposed to and she rejects the person and the family calls her "fucked in the head" and the person then found a new partner to propose to with the mothers ring. And the new partner "patches up the tapesty that she shred" with rejecting him.
Evermore has some of the saddest songs!! Also funfact: the background vocals on Marjorie are Taylor’s grandmother Marjorie!! Which makes me cry everytime
I CANT WAIT FOR THE REP VID AND REP TV
Tolerate It. Suchhhh a powerful song. And it’s in the craziest timing ever!
You got my dear, I agree with you with champagne problems. I know I have been through that same situation and I realized it when we were in the Bahamas, That shit hurt for a while.
5 albums those were Lover, folklore, evermore and Midnights which are actually 4
Lover did have a tour although it was cut short because of Covid, Folklore and Evermore were during covid so that was impossible to even have a tour and Midnights is this current tour its currently still in the Midnights era
Your face and heavy breathing opening the champagne bottle took me out 😂😂😂 loving your reactions to The Eras Tour, and I’m watching it for the first time right along with you 💜
U SHOULD REACT TO EVERMORE FULL ALBUM!!!
My favorite was the "tolerate it" scene, I watched it at the theater.
*rep transition* "oh okay, i can drink to this"
well, you've done it. you've made join your patreon with this reaction! i've been enjoying your yt videos for a little while now - you have such a great energy & vibe!🥂 (i also love that you don't know every little detail of every song/album - personally i don't want to know it all anyway and just enjoy Taylor's music for what it is - so thank you for this fresh take 💖)
Taylor wrote 'Marjorie' to her Grandma, her Grandma's name was Marjorie, she passed away when Taylor was 13, and one of her dreams was to sing all around the world, she was a opera singer and had to give up because she wanted to take care of her children, one of them being Taylor's mom. So when she wrote 'Marjorie', her mom found old records of her singing during her opera singer days, and Taylor decided to include in that song, right after she sings "I think you were singing to me now", that's her Grandma's voice.
Marjorie had to give up of her dream when she was younger, but now, she is singing all around the world with her granddaughter, in every show ♥️♥️♥️♥️
This song makes me cry so much, my Grandma still alive, but I love her so much ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Marjorie is about her grandmother who passed when she was i believe Taylor was 13 and she said that she was really close to Marjorie
Marjorie is about her dead grandmother who inspired her to make music. I always cry when I hear it.
I cry every time I hear Marjorie because I think of my dad 😢. Great song
HAHHAHA your reaction to the beginning of Willow was my *exact* reaction when seeing for the very first time, live 😂🧡✨
Have you reacted to evermore yet? I know you have folklore. My unpopular opinion is evermore > folklore.
OMG TY FOR SAYING THAT CUZ I LOVE EVERMORE SM MORE AND NO ONE AGREES WITH ME
agreed no offense to folklore lovers i mean i also love folklore but evermore is better
Obviously evermore is superior
I think evermore has higher highs but lower lows; folklore is more cohesive.
@iteachlit evermore has more of my favorite song but yes folklore is more cohesive as an album
I could not love your reactions more!
Evermore is like is Red & Folklore had a baby! According to my streaming it’s my favorite album lol
I love watching someone see the Tolerate It performance for the first time!! 😢
I was dying for this!!! Ahhh can’t wait til you upload Reputation next week eeeeeeeeee
Marjorie is about her late grandmother. She was an opera singer and you can hear her vocals in certain parts, like when Taylor says "I'd think you were singing to me now"
And champagne problems is about a scenario where a couple decides to meet one night, one person with plans to propose and one with plans to break up. Though idk how true it is to her life, if at all
Champagne Problems --- is just a story; or it is about someone else. The lyric mentions the "dorms" but she did not go to college (she home schooled after her debut was out, and never took the time to go to school to figure out a career).
You’d be fun to see this concert with in person! Love your reactions! 🫶🏻
😂😂The end bring me back Taylor give me actitud, we all been there it's inside we crying and the BAM! Reputation
Not you skipping iver your reaction to the bridge of tolerate it 😢 inwas waiting for that moment
WE DON'T TALK ENOUGH ABOUT TOLERATE IT PERFORMANCE💔
Covid hit right before the Lover tour was going to happen. So Lover and everything that came after never got an album tour until the eras tour.
10:01 I’m sorry but WHAT?!?!? I knew that champagne Problem would hurt me 𝓫𝓾𝓽 that line 𝓴𝓲𝓵𝓵𝓮𝓭 me!
The choreographer for this show is Mandy Moore (not the actress), she is best known for her work in La La Land, Emma Stone was the one who recommended her to Taylor
I hadn’t listened to Marjorie since my grandma died last year. I was sobbing in the theater 😭
4:17 her grandmother
During this section, The concert goer's were told not to bring yellow balloons, It would represent the evermore song when her dancers would toss the yellow 🟡 ball in circles.
folklore and evermore are sister albums. Basically evermore is folklore with the very tiny tiniest addition of pop(at least that's what it sounds like to me) but also cardigan is from folklore.
This is my favorite
I used to listen to Tolerate It and think about my mom. Now I think about the person who used to protect me from her.
It’s really a hard listening to marjorie especially if you lost someone you really care about i lost my dad two years ago and it break my hart every single time i listen to it it gives me chills all over my body so i cant listen to it it’s just too hard .
Yeah, I cry almost every time I listen to Marjorie because it reminds me of my grandmother, especially the bridge. ❤
