From time to time, even though I already saw them, the algorithm pushes these older videos to me. I'm always happy when that happens. The mix of historical pieces, standard products and atypical creations gives A&A such a unique voice. 👍
The Thibault Rapier trainer is such a beautiful design. I love its simplicity.
Oh and, the overly tall fencer with an overly long rapier... he must be hated in his club. 😇 A 49 inch blade is just too much. 😅

According to Thibault's rules of proportioning, my ideal rapier is a 45" long blade (at least 40" sharp).

70 inches? Mein gott... I can't even imagine what that would look like.

Love the consistent, quality Arms & Armor content being uploaded lately.
You guys have some beautiful rapiers & sideswords and it’s pretty impressive how you manage to maintain that level of craftsmanship across such a broad catalogue & at the numbers you do while still taking on fun custom projects. Hats off.

Thank you, it isn't easy or profitable some days :-) but it beats having a real job.

I bought a Spanish cup hilt rapier from you several year's ago Craig, it was a beautiful piece. I had a very long blade, I think 42" and a slightly shorter grip. I am a shorter guy, lol. I had to sell that due to financial problems year's back, however I will say it was the most beautiful sword I have ever owned, the craftsmanship was remarkable. I still miss that sword. When You buy a sword from A&A You Are Getting The Best!!!

large swords like them also functioned as status symbols.

Fantastic video! It was wonderful to see a long original rapier. I did notice some dip of the tip on the original, as opposed to the vintage drawings. It would be extremely interesting to see the flex, dip, and perhaps a handle slap test and see how an original performed.

The distance between your hand and the top of the scabbard on your side.

What would be the length of the last rapier that you talked about

Yeah I wished he would have said, but it looked around 35-38 inches.

Geez, a 42" blade is long enough. It's not a dick measuring contest guys.

Hey brother, for Hema do you need a solid cup rapier, or is the bar guard okay?
