Lol, it was a way to give us a little intro to each of her friends and emphasize how busy each person is and what their main role in life is! Pretty cool storytelling technique, I think! Not practical at all in real life though. :)

I KNOW RIGHT! BIG CREDIT TO THE WRITERS as well as the whole music fading, and the husband actor's nervousness was palpable. I love her character and how dignified she is. I loved what she said earlier about knowing it had been going on, but also being real with herself about what she had with him and wanting her life to continue to be as good as it is (so she'd bear the bad). I like how real the 'side characters' tales are, definitely compared to the silly one-uppery of the main Lucy Liu plotline.
@figuringitoutalive yessssss, I agree. Be smart. Do your due diligence. I'm just amazed. And deep down. Way deep. A part of hopes upon stars this literally came from real life. You know how writers are. Eek. That just gives goosebumps to think about. Yeah I second the silly plot line of Lui's story. I mean I'm suppose to believe an ad man as successful as her fiancé is a limp noodle!?! Puhleese! Right actor, wrong character.

Lucy is very talented, always enjoy watching her. I was unable to get into this show. Shallow airheaded content couldn't hold my interest. Not even for one whole episode.
I can see why this lasted only one season. The writers, like totally, emasculated the men. The women had custody carrying around the men's' family jewels in a cashmere pouch stored in their purse available upon demand...
First and last time I'm watching this $hit.
