Horovitz plays a troubled teenager from Los Angeles who feels abandoned by his parents and everyone around him until he makes a connection with a doctor who has his own demons to battle.
This is a lost gem from the 80's teen flick era. It touches on various topics from gang violence, drug addiction and the difficult relationships between teens and their parents.

I don't know how it's legal. I was 19 years old & not living with either parent & my dad dropped me off without my knowledge or consent & I never did drugs or stole cars or anything like that

Same thing happened to me. The place was full of upper middle class teens. It was a thing back then.
This movie is very accurate in that in the late 80's parents were advised to have their kid mentally evaluated if they f*cked even once.
They were almost always advised to have the kid taken out of the home & entered into an accredited alternative school.
It was a scam between doctors, insurance companies & "pop up alternative learning environments" for state funding.

In USA 18 and a day they can boot you out.i was 17and went to live with my high school girlfriend.they were cool hippies 1987.i turned 18 and went into Marine Corps.best thing I ever did.my son is a problem child like me and there is nothing I can do about it.we all accept guidance we accept for ourselves.
