@iancastro1327 I don't get why Gigaton Hammer has such a harsh drawback when the _main point_ is to be the one move that lets 75 base Attack still be threatening. It does a bit more than Metagross's Meteor Mash, but at the cost of every other attack being a lot weaker (which adds up to a lot of pressure if you're relying solely on an attack with only 8 PP).
If it were distributed to a few more mons, I'd get it. But this is a signature move that has a very specific purpose.
Meanwhile, Gholdengo gets a signature move that, at max investment against an opponent with equal Defense and Sp. Def, does the exact same amount of damage as max investment Gigaton while having a much more manageable drawback and also being attached to a mon with a cracked ability, a better movepool, and a stronger stat spread.

I am absolutely obsessed with Ogerpon, she's just too damn cute! I also find it very poetic how she ended up being the most viable out of all the new legendaries. Loyal Three? More like the Lousy Three.

I think okidogi is the only one that is reliable. I have had success with the bulk up set with leftovers. Put a decent ev investment into sp. Defense and its quite bulky. Also a good partner with farigiraf to shut down priority moves and slow it down further for the dogi.

Yeah, but you need Tera to use it.
It requires a once-per battle resource that can also be used on your other mons, so there is still a bit of a trade off compared to Zacian who just got it for existing

to be fair , wood hammer usually is portrayed as pokemon just smashing their hand or something into an opponent , while ivy cudgel is just a big oni club , so it not making contact kinda makes sense.

Tinkaton is perfectly balanced, fun and versatile what do you mean? Obviously she isn't the most useable in competitive gamemodes that don't have restrictions but that's the nature of pokémon. In Smogon singles she performs excellently in UU (the tier that has Skeledirge, Thundurus T, Ursaluna, Rillaboom, Tyranitar, etc.) and in the base game she's a mon that can easily carry a playthrough even without overlevelling or item spam
Tinkaton just needed a bit more attack, they made it too weak

The description for wood hammer states that the user attacks with his body during the attack, so he just hits as hard as a wood hammer and doesn't actually use one, so the animation is just misleading. Guess that's why it makes contact. I do get though why no sane person would actually trust any kind of description in a Pokémon game

I predicted early on Hearthflame would get put to Ubers. Here's a Grass-Fire with high attack and speed who can Tera and Swords Dance on turn one to gain the vaunted physical equivalent of Tail Glow, with good speed and moderate defenses. Fiery Ivy Cudgel, Horn Leech or Power Whip and you have an incredible pair of extremely hard hitting high power moves that cover each other nicely. The only thing that resists is a Dragon. Oh, hello, Play Rough, get in here there's room for one more.

So basically it's ok that if you have an ogrepon on your team, you pretty much assume that it's gonna be the tera hog of the team due to how broken it is?
It doesn’t have to tera to be strong, especially if you run swords dance.
Not necessarily, the three duo typed ones are much, much better defensively when they don't tera. Tera is only good defensively once the threats to the monotype have been eliminated.
The fire and grass ones may tera regularly because of offensive capabilities, but water and rock are not gonna tera all the time with rock especially not wanting to hog it.
i love that Mono Grass Ogerpon beats Landorus T while Firepon doesn’t. I genuinely think Teal Mask Oger is #2 just below fire. Weakness policy + uturn booster bundle can just sweep games on the ladder

All 3 masks the duel types use give you 20% to all damage. So you have Mold Breaker and you deal 20% more damage per hit.
I fought that guy from the last battle yesterday let’s just say I miss played and swapped the wrong Pokémon out to deal with regidrago

Ogerpon is way more balanced due to worse typing and needing to commit tera to get the boost while also not being versatile with the tera
It can be worked around because it's not especially bulky, doesn't have an especially good type on the fire one, and is predictable on item and tera type.
