Just because something is necessary doesn’t mean it can’t be a pollutant. If carbon dioxide is necessary and it is, does that mean that smoke which produces carbon dioxide cannot pollute environment? Or if water is necessary for life does that mean that a flood is good and it actually helps to grow plants? The answer both questions is no.
