Bro Ive literally been making TAS videos for like a year now, you can’t even imagine my reaction when I heard they were adding these tickspeed manipulation commands into vanilla minecraft.
actually not as much as you'de think, as if time is frozen, datapacks and command blocks are frozen too. The best you can do is really slow. As well as the fact that only a datapack on a server is allowed to run /tick (on singleplayer, nothing can except the player).
I thought of putting "tick freeze" in a command block but unfortunately, the tick command is permission level 3 and command blocks have access to permission level 2. However, running the world on a server and setting mcfunction permission level should change that. tick freeze in a command block would be really useful as a kind of breakpoint in a big redstone machine. The tick command has been in the carpet mod, and doesn't have this restriction.
Also a gateway to some epic adventure maps. Imagine a map where you have to slow/stop time strategically. Or just SUPERHOT. Fake content has always and will always exist, iirc there were mods for this already that some people used to make a super neat slowed down/TAS PVP battle

I can't wait for Phoenix to use these mechanics for some game. Maybe based on JoJo, but I don't know if he's a big enough fan to do that. Likely someone else will do that, but I'd love to see what you have in store, Phoenix
A few years back I painfully added the option to stop time myself. I achieved this by: - Disabling the gravity for all surrounding entities in a very large radius - Storing their x, y, z motion in scoreboards, setting their motion to 0, and restoring their initial motion when the time resumes - Disabling their AI (for mobs like zombies, etc) - Making them silent (again, for mobs like zombies) - Adding a constant PickupDelay for items (they can't get picked up during the time stop) For other players, I used a texture pack that featured a character that could be put on the players' screens with /title, which essentially made their entire screen black. Then, I continuously teleported them to their position from before the time stop using an armor stand, and gave them a very high slowness effect so that it doesn't look like they are glitching about when they try to move. For damage, I stored the damage every entity received during the time stop in a scoreboard and applied it when the time stop was over. This worked very well, with a few problems: - Items would have visual bugs (they would fly in a direction for a bit, until you moved a few blocks away from them in which case their actual position would update and they would be in the correct spot) - Rain, snow, and particles don't stop - Items still do the rotating thing And then, Mojang came along and said: "Great! Well here's whatever you did in 1000x better, more optimized, and in a single command!" (except the storing the damage bit)
Steve wields the stand ‘The World’ which allows him to stop time. He later evolves it into ‘Made in Heaven’ which allows him to accelerate time until the universe resets.

If you aren’t aware, Steve in is Smash Bros and is almost certainly the best character in the game. He was also made during quarantine, so that combined with how many new unique mechanics he has means he has a TON of glitches/exploits/tech that is slowly but steadily making him even more powerful. So when I saw the title of the video with my terrible reading comprehension, I thought someone found a glitch where he stops time and I thought “thank god, finally a valid, unignorable reason why we can ban this character.” But no, it’s just a cool new Minecraft update Great video tho
Steve now has the mark of the outsider! He can teleport, he can stop time, he can withstand things that would kill a normal person, he can see through the dark, and many more!
This reminds me of some villains from Lego Ninjago called the time twins, who were able to stop, slow, speed up, and reverse time. Now Steve can do all of this except reverse it. Unless you count server rollbacks in which case then yes Steve controls everything!
Another cool thing is datapacks and commands can run at more than 20 ticks a second which means you can do p cool things. One in particular is proper smooth animations. Though the admin needs to enable it himself because no permission for datapacks or commands to set tick itself

Steve is too powerful, he can no longer be stopped, he is our god now
ZA WARUDO!!
Steve has always been the god of Minecraft
I gues you could say he’s 「OVER HEAVEN」
I can see people doing speedrun challenges with this command haha. It's honestly a really cool command and I'm glad they added it.
ever heard of a tas
@cylan6914 Someone's probably going to do a TAS with maximum tick speed, if it's possible lol
Bro Ive literally been making TAS videos for like a year now, you can’t even imagine my reaction when I heard they were adding these tickspeed manipulation commands into vanilla minecraft.
@@infinityyworks I'd imagine it will prove very useful for precise movements when creating one
They literally added TAS to Minecraft. Like, literally. This is objectively one of the best motherfucking Minecraft updates EVER.
As if Steve wasn’t broken enough before now he’s a Jojo’s reference. He truly is the peak of existence
i feel like the tick command was one of the best thing mojang made in past few updates
just imagine the thing map makers can do with these commands
actually not as much as you'de think, as if time is frozen, datapacks and command blocks are frozen too. The best you can do is really slow. As well as the fact that only a datapack on a server is allowed to run /tick (on singleplayer, nothing can except the player).
you could do this with a very small mod since 2012
@@unoriginal_guy6021 finally someone else remembers
@@hagangray8006really slow.. well that's a perfect opportunity to remake SUPERHOT in Minecraft!
Wait so this is a new command? seems like a gateway to a lot of fake content if you ask me. 💀
It may not be worth the hassle though.
Also a gateway to some epic adventure maps. Imagine a map where you have to slow/stop time strategically. Or just SUPERHOT.
Fake content has always and will always exist, iirc there were mods for this already that some people used to make a super neat slowed down/TAS PVP battle
@@StuffandThings_ It doesn't work in datapacks or command blocks, it's just for debugging
@@blue_azul I was imagining some map where you have to type in the command. Though they should definitely make it compatible with command blocks and datapacks.
@@blue_azul you can give it the admin permissions afaik, but it's not very accessible.
dio: oh, your approaching me? instead of running away Your coming right at me?
steve: */tick 1" the time has been slowed
It's interesting that player movement doesn't seem to speed up when tick rate is above 20. Probably could be used in custom gamemodes that would benefit from a higher tickrate
Any redstone contraption runs faster if you increase the tick rate, there's no way mapmakers can't use that for something really awesome.
@@joda7697just watched someone increase the tick rate so they could play bad apple in minecraft
@@blakecook9266holy shit me too (It's the one with copper bulbs playing bad apple)
This makes sense because the dev of the carpet mod works at mojang
@kid9448 I already knew before I saw your comment lol
Love how if you set the video to loop, it actually perfectly loops due to(spoilers) the rewind at the end. Beautifully done!
steve can stop time, skip time, rewind time, and accelerate time. so that means steve has King Crimson, the world, made in heaven, and killer queen bites the dust.
If you give yourself speed 100 or something you can basically have the sandevistan, or any other time stop ability
I always knew Steve would go cyberpsycho

Steve can reset the universe. We're doomed.
I can't wait for Phoenix to use these mechanics for some game. Maybe based on JoJo, but I don't know if he's a big enough fan to do that. Likely someone else will do that, but I'd love to see what you have in store, Phoenix

Herobrine has been real quiet since Steve found out how to stop time.
considering steve already has the /kill command, the fact that he is now dio is horrifying.
A few years back I painfully added the option to stop time myself. I achieved this by:
- Disabling the gravity for all surrounding entities in a very large radius
- Storing their x, y, z motion in scoreboards, setting their motion to 0, and restoring their initial motion when the time resumes
- Disabling their AI (for mobs like zombies, etc)
- Making them silent (again, for mobs like zombies)
- Adding a constant PickupDelay for items (they can't get picked up during the time stop)
For other players, I used a texture pack that featured a character that could be put on the players' screens with /title, which essentially made their entire screen black.
Then, I continuously teleported them to their position from before the time stop using an armor stand, and gave them a very high slowness effect so that it doesn't look like they are glitching about when they try to move.
For damage, I stored the damage every entity received during the time stop in a scoreboard and applied it when the time stop was over.
This worked very well, with a few problems:
- Items would have visual bugs (they would fly in a direction for a bit, until you moved a few blocks away from them in which case their actual position would update and they would be in the correct spot)
- Rain, snow, and particles don't stop
- Items still do the rotating thing
And then, Mojang came along and said: "Great! Well here's whatever you did in 1000x better, more optimized, and in a single command!" (except the storing the damage bit)
L
So now steve has "the world", "king crimson", "made in heaven", reverse "made in heaven" and ,"bites the dust "?
I'd know how powerful the tick command is when I lost a huge bet to it lol. Steve has now officially become too powerful
While not holding any strength feats, the sack-person has the same feats about everywhere else when in create mode.
When your friend has bad internet 2:57
Steve: accelerate the flow of time
Pucci: could this man be one of my "people" ?
So if Steve can now stop time like if he was the Singularity of a Black Hole, can he bend Space and create his own gravitational fields?
He can eat infinite food
Literally the core of a world
Without him there's no world to exist
Steve wields the stand ‘The World’ which allows him to stop time. He later evolves it into ‘Made in Heaven’ which allows him to accelerate time until the universe resets.
How do you think he picks up items?
@@dylantokweijie9829 let me ask you, are anime makers big fans of Queen or something? Because Made in Heaven and Bites the Dust sound like obvious references to Queen
@@anakinlowground5515 it only applies to an anime called Jojo, they use band groups that are kinda unknown to us. And yes, it’s a reference to Queen, as there are stands also known as special abilities, with their names called, killer queen, sheer heart attack, bites the dust and made in heaven.
Now mojang can actually hit clutches in their own game
If you aren’t aware, Steve in is Smash Bros and is almost certainly the best character in the game. He was also made during quarantine, so that combined with how many new unique mechanics he has means he has a TON of glitches/exploits/tech that is slowly but steadily making him even more powerful. So when I saw the title of the video with my terrible reading comprehension, I thought someone found a glitch where he stops time and I thought “thank god, finally a valid, unignorable reason why we can ban this character.” But no, it’s just a cool new Minecraft update
Great video tho

Source Engine Enjoyers: "Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our host_timescale."

It'll be interesting to see how it would function in multiplayer.
Based on the host
if multiple people have the perms, i think everyone just experiences the same thing and each commands overwrites the previous
ZA WARUDO - basically anyone with access to commands
Steve now has the mark of the outsider! He can teleport, he can stop time, he can withstand things that would kill a normal person, he can see through the dark, and many more!
This reminds me of some villains from Lego Ninjago called the time twins, who were able to stop, slow, speed up, and reverse time. Now Steve can do all of this except reverse it. Unless you count server rollbacks in which case then yes Steve controls everything!
1:16 Take that, Minecraft RUclips
Another cool thing is datapacks and commands can run at more than 20 ticks a second which means you can do p cool things. One in particular is proper smooth animations. Though the admin needs to enable it himself because no permission for datapacks or commands to set tick itself
the world, killer queen: bites the dust, king crimson and made in heaven all in one command
Phoenix, do you think you have the influence with the devs to convince the launcher and website teams to switch the wiki link? They still link to the old bad wiki and someone with 'status' like you will have an easier time convincing them than just a feedback ticket that doesn't make it through the moderators.
