LP is one of the most slept on cats. His beats mesmerize and he’s ill with the pen too. Some of the most cinematic beats i ever heard. (Lewis Parker&John Robinson - Enter the cosmos) peep that joint.
Mad props to J HEART, great interview, style, questions, vibe n' stuff. Well done! Lewis picked smart who he lets into the Spaceship to do this mission ; ). Big UP! I Hope you did/do more with other Artists, gotta check it later. Peeeace 1
Lmfao, Cats don't even know... 45mins with Da Legend himself, 22k click0s over 7yrs. Heh. Im sure I did comment on it then but dltd it or whatever maybe, so: HE'S THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN SOUND. That Moniker thats 0ut for long doesnt come 0ut of n0where y0 . One of the best producers - and also exquisite Emcee //UNDERRRRATED ( but again cats dont even do some 1+1s n homeworks) -. good interview. different way of working to myself, but yeah. big interview. also, the interviewer's FRENCH; maybe, his ENGLISH isn't the greatest. did a good job.
Lewis Parker was just born too late... he would be the RZA in early 90s. Unfortunately the world moved away from analog tape into digital realm and we lost a lot during that process. Today the music scene is completely different from the 90s... I personally stopped caring about music after year 2000.
Man years ago I bought his first album as a teenager and suddenly the vibe of his music touched me deeply. I even dho I wasn't really able to understand his lyrics I could feel his music. Ten years later he became more of a hero to me then I ever thought, still keeping it up, stay true to himself and the love for music. I find it weak and confusing when rappers turn from heros to commercial pop musicians with the explaination of development?! Hahahaha saaaay Whaaaat?! LP is one of the best, no doubt, big up. Last but not least: Interviewer doesnt really seem serious, always laughing and with that strong french accent...annoying, sorry dude. It fucked up the interview.
Every emu samplers, lexicon reverb, roland digital delay, 1176 clone, every behringer 19’´ racks, rane pe15, chameleon 7720, digitech vtp1 and VCs1, art pro VL1, technics MK2, concord raindirk console, réel to real tapes, every library records That exist and a GREAT SOÛL. His studio has evolved now. Lewis Parker is the analog goat in my book. Second to none, hip hop version Of lee scratch perry or king tubby.
does anybody understand or know what break Lewis parker is talkin about? I think I hear him saying his favorite drumbreak is "parol zoose" or something like that but i cant find a track or a band with that name... I know a lot of breaks but this one I havent heard of before. Perhaps somebody is willing to help me out on this.
the 900 lb elephant in the room that no one is speaking of, is that Lewis parker does not own the music that joey bad ass used. People talk shit but nobody even heard of lewis parker in America, maybe in uk a different story. Who knows what kind of deal the big labels made behind the scenes for joey to use that music....lewis parker DOES NOT OWN ANY MUSIC. IT IS ALL SOLD AT WHOLESALE TO PUBLISHERS. if anyone has a claim against joey badass its the LABEL who published
Randy Stevenson It's a case of etiquette between artists though. I don't contest what you say - legal matters are one thing, and the music industry isn't engineered to benefit the artists, whatever they brought to a track - but like Parker says, respect needs to be paid. That's how I feel about it anyways :)
One of my favorite dudes on the sp. Incredible music!
