I certainly don't mind you testing pens and somesuch. It's amazing that more than 3 hours with the cap off didn't shut down this pen. Even better that it makes thin lines like the technical 0,25 pen. I have two EF pens that makes thicker lines than the Pilot. Thx for testing.

I LOVE Diamine inks but realized they're water soluble, for the most part. Went searching for inks, and was able to get a bottle from Amazon for 13.99usd. I was so happy it came with an ink reservoir inside! I haven't used it yet but think it'll eventually become my primary ink.

I use that ink with my Platinum Century fountain pen, it has a fine nib but Japanese fine nibs are similar to a western extra fine. I find the carbon ink actually works well with fner nibs. I put it in a bold nib pen and it bled through the paper a little. the finer nibs help control the flow.

Pilot themselves released their pigmented ink series, Tsuwairo. I haven't got a hold of a bottle yet but I sure want to compare that, this platinum carbon ink, and sailor kiwaguro

Very interesting. Good ink competition. Although the pilot branded ink seems to be twice the price ( from where I am ), as it's half the volume for the same price as the platinum branded ink.

@@Ashsibe Yeah availability is very limited right now, so it's not economical by any means. I hope they do release it in the west some time. The main thing i'm interested in is that it looks more matte, instead of having the graphite-looking shine of the carbon ink

I have this pen and love the EF nib size, however, I don’t love how little ink it can hold.
I am wondering if you have any experience taking the nib out and installing it into a piston filler, similar to the twsbi eco.

I'm not familiar with this particular Pilot pen, but if that nib is the same style that fits in the Metropolitan, it will also fit in the Penbbs 494. The 494 is a much cheaper pen (the plastic is brittle and prone to stress cracks), but it's a piston filler that holds a lot more ink than the Pilot converters.
Penbbs has better models than the 494, and I'm wondering now if those nibs are all the same.

I think it is a Platinum Desk pen by the look of it rather than a Pilot but please correct me if I am wrong.

The shop said Pilot, the box said Pilot, the fountain pen nib says Pilot. So who knows

I had this fountain pen and it would clog on me pretty often even with regular fountain pen ink so may I got a dud.

      Sorry to hear that
I'm still using mine with the platinum carbon ink with no clogging. Not once. Although I do write with mine every day.

Get a better fountain pen and you wont need any maintenance. Likot pilot penmanship with screw cap.
