    I’m not a bee keeper - but we downed a dead hollow tree in our yard only to find a 4 year old bee hive. Had two beekeepers come and remove the hive and relocate it to the county extension master gardener center. It was a great experience

    You have reminded me that it’s ok to be in love with my “girls” and not be ashamed of talking about them like they are my children. I lost my first hive when I had to go home for a funeral and I was devastated. I cried as if I had buried my best friend. Now I have watched you this season and I am ready to have a another group of gals to sing to and watch come in at the end of the day. And if they swarm, it’s nothing personal it’s because they know how beautiful this world really is.

    We had honeybees that built comb very high in a tree that dripped honey all over my husbands car, which was how we found them. It was so high it was barely visible. They stayed for the summer, but there was nothing we could do to move them to safety. I was very happy to have them, but sad for their unprotected home.

    My first encounter with bees en-masse was when I collected my first bees from a footpath. The march was amazing to see in person after watching it before during my research phase before beekeeping. That was last year.
    Since then I have done a very cold New Year's Eve rescue cut-out of a small colony in a cut down tree! This year both of the colonies are doing well, especially given atrocious weather patterns we've had in Kent, UK. Always love to see whats going on in your little corner of the planet.

So i am going to binge watch all your videos and try to 🐝 keep them because we are going to convert our garage into an ADU, therefore that wall is going to get demolished. 💔 I hope I can learn enough in time before this happens in the next few months.

    I haven't had a chance to finish your visit to homesteaders conference yet. Nice chat with the fit farmer. Looking forward to seeing the rest to see if you talked to any other Y Tubers. Nice swarm catch. I would like a update on the "Amazon " hive. I'm figuring the new Queen has got the girls pretty chill by now. I am curious though about the idea of keeping a hive or two at the other end of my 10 acres for trespassers and perhaps keeping some of those genetics around for potential occasional upgrades. I like the idea of genetic diversity. Anyway, have a great day.

    • @victorbenner539
      @victorbenner539 3 года назад

      @@brigittemiller1444 I hope I wasn't mis understood. True the trespassers might get stung ( they are trespassing and I have no problem protecting my property) however just the bee's coming out in numbers should discourage them from being where they shouldn't be in the first place. It's a potential solution to a problem.
