    How does one get rid of a metopic or frontal suture? Very defined vertical indentation or crevice from top of forehead to bridge of nose. It's very prominent and noticed it showed up overnight in my 20's or 30's. I dont know why it occurred or never filled in laterally.

    Why are the other cranial sutures not obliterated like the metopic suture over time?

      That's a very good question. Probably because the other sutures allow for continued growth of the skull over a much longer period of time (20 years). They fuse much later in life, at 40, 50, 60 years old or later, but are not obliterated like in the younger skull when much more rapid bone growth is occurring.
